My father was cared for in this wonderful care home. He was looked after superbly by the staff. Their genuine kindness and compassion made a sometimes difficult situation much more bearable. The activities team brought laughter and joy to my father which we are eternally grateful for, they were
truly fabulous. The team looked after him wuth tenderness, kindness and many moments of laughter until he closed his eyes for the final time.

All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Hampton Care is very clean and rooms very good. The garden is very nice to sit in if weather allows and there are some events organised on the ground floor.

This is my mother's third attempt at staying at Hampton Care. The first two were for respite care after two big falls but this time it's for ever and she's slowly getting used to it (eight weeks in). I'm impressed that several of your staff have been there since her first admission. It says
something for a care home that they are able to retain their staff.
We are always greeted and made to feel welcome when we visit, including our dog!
The one thing we really don't like is the electronic check in. It's time consuming, clumsy and exasperating. I won't repeat what a visiting clergyman said as he did battle with the terminal. With the old system, a hand written book, we were able to see who had visited my mother in our absence. Not only did that give us something to talk about but also allowed us to know who was visiting.

Whilst the general care and day to day comfort are a good standard, it is disappointing that simple procedures like re ordering repeat prescriptions are not correctly adhered to. Residents should not be allowed to run out of medication, yet this has now happened three times since my Mother has been
a resident (Jan 2024).
The second time it happened, I alerted the Manager who assured me it wouldn't happen again that they were going to overhaul the procedure for ordering repeat prescriptions and were personally going to speak to the Nurse responsible and offer them further training.
Now that it's happened for the third time indicates a bigger problem with management and staff training.

I would recommend this nursing home to any family.

My mother went into the home in November 2024 and during her time so far, she has received excellent care. The staff are friendly, professional and kind. Whenever we ask for an update on her health, they spend time explaining in full detail what has happened with her care. There is nothing they
won't do for her if we ask. Food was also very good.

Mum went into the Hampton Care Home November 2024. Everyone was very helpful, kind, caring, and very friendly. They updated us with Mum's care every day. The food was very nice for Mum, and the chef in the kitchen would always do what was easy for Mum to eat. The carers all popped their head in to
check on Mum.

Carers vary enormously from very good to average. Poor communication between carers working different days and shifts, despite a diary for communications and reminders. Requests for hair appointments etc poorly communicated/managed. Outside telephones are often not answered, answering machine
messages not replied to. Activities team are to be commended. Liaison between Nursing and GP visits poor. Previous outside assessment on teams not handled well with technology issues and knowledge of my mother was sketchy. Questionable front of house management not being transparent or brave to pick up the phone to iron out a misunderstanding. Not value for money. My mother is safe and warm.

My husband has been in Hampton Care Home for 18 months now and I have nothing but praise for this Home. The care he receives from the staff, when at times my husband has not made it easy for them, is outstanding. They take time to understand when he is feeling frustrated by the blow life has landed
him and use strategies to calm him. Their patience dealing with some of the situations they have to deal with is commendable. I feel my husband is always treated with dignity. There are always plenty of staff around if he needs anything and I am kept informed when I need to be.
The food is very good and there is always a choice. Another huge plus for Hampton is the entertainment. This is priceless for residents who do not have dementia. There is a timetable of varied activities each morning and afternoon to stimulate residents. They have 'guest entertainers' in on a regular basis. The entertainment staff do an excellent job. At each visit, I thank my lucky stars that my husband got a place there.

My father has been living at Hampton Care Home for a few years now and is very settled there. He is very well looked after by his carers and I am very grateful to them for looking after him. The building is safe and secure and he likes to go in the garden. Thank you to everyone who cares for him.

The overall standards at Hampton Care Home are poor. The level of care is poor. My husband is treated with dignity by the caring staff, is good. The overworked staff are good. The management is poor, it is not visible to the residents or available easily to visitors. The rooms are shabby and not of
the quality expected for the high charge paid for the resident's 24-hour care. The facilities are not really adequate or suitable for residents on the dementia floor. Too few staff to give specialised nursing care needed. Not enough staff to ensure safety and security. Not value for money.

My cousin has been in Hampton Care Home for nearly a year and every visit I have made makes me feel comfortable that she is in the right place. Difficult to actually rate the food as I haven't eaten there but there seems to be plenty and it looks pretty good. There are always plenty of staff, who
treat my cousin well, and the home is always clean and tidy. As for value for money, it's difficult to comment when dementia requires extra nursing but I am more than content.

My mum has been cared for through her horrible fight with dementia, and they have been excellent with their care when dealing with her on the frontline. I can visit as a daughter, while also looking after Dad with dementia at home knowing Mum is totally looked after.

My care home experience has been good overall.
Many of the services provided and staff have been excellent.
I feel that many of the lunch and evening meals could be better and tastier.
The annual fees have been increased at an exorbitant amount way above the COL.

Nice setting and gardens. Most rooms are quite large compared to other care homes. Nice gardens, but could be better maintained. Food is excellent, mainly freshly made, and balanced diet. Carers vary enormously from very good to very average. Communication between carers working different days and
shifts leaves a lot to be desired. Outside telephones are often not answered. Activities team are excellent.

My wife has been in Hampton Care Home for six months, she found it difficult to settle in the staff were very kind and supportive and she is now settling in. Unfortunately, her condition is deteriorating but the staff are doing a wonderful job of keeping her comfortable. The staff are very
supportive of me and I feel very comfortable being at the home at all times, I thank them all.

All staff are full of dignity to all residents. 10/10.

My experience of the last 8 months with Hampton Care is good communication and coordination of care for my elderly friend. Staff are friendly, and are readily available to clarify and answer questions I may have. They check in regularly to ask if I find anything wanting in the care provided. This
shows proactive attention to feedback.
It is a new experience to help someone through this stage of life, but I find the staff ready to assist in the unknowns, and that is appreciated.

The staff are very welcoming and accommodating. The food is excellent and my mum thoroughly enjoys it. The entertainment is good and varied. She has a lovely room opening onto the garden and is very happy.
08 December 2023
My mother has been with Hampton Care for just over three months and I'm really pleased with the quality of her care. She's not someone who finds change easy, nor getting to know new people, and on top of that she'd previously been in and out of hospital and as a consequence had severe delirium at
the time of entering the home. The first two months were really hard, not least for the care staff who showed enormous patience when dealing with her difficult behaviour. But they achieved a miracle and two months later the delirium lifted and Mum started smiling and enjoying life (the first smile I've seen in several years). She's now getting dressed in the morning (first time in over two years), eating in company, and even attending and enjoying activities. We still have occasional ups and downs but she's the happiest I've seen her in years. I really can't thank the staff enough - they've achieved a miracle.
