Mum has been in for a couple of weeks now, and our first impression is one of a friendly caring environment. The office team as well as the HCAs have looked after her, and if needed ensured that she is safe, at the same time saying no when necessary. Mum is very independently minded and appears to
be settling in nicely.

I am entirely content with the level of care given to my brother by all staff at the home. It seems to me to be a warm and friendly environment for all the residents, and I have heard nothing from other people to change that view. On a slightly critical note, I am glad that the home decided not to
go ahead with a proposed new policy of residents having to see their visitors solely in their rooms, not the lounge. Common sense prevailed.

My lovely Mum was looked after so well at Hillside Nursing Home. Mum was there for a year and a half and was always treated with such dignity and respect. She was always clean and tidy and her room was spacious and clean. The care was evident in the way that the lovely staff treated Mum. Last
week Mum deteriorated quite quickly and sadly passed on the 4th February. Mum was kept so comfortable by the home during her last days.
My Dad visited Mum every day that she was at Hillside, except for 2 weeks when he had an operation. He was always made to feel welcome as was I. Myself and Dad were always kept up to date with Mum's care.
Hillside is so supportive of residents' families/friends in my opinion and it is a happy Care Home.
I cannot thank Hillside enough for all that they did for my Mum x

My friend, who has been a resident for nearly three years, is well looked after, especially during the day. Night care has and can be unsatisfactory when getting the resident up, wash and dressing. Staff are kind and patient, quick to respond.
All aspects of care are carried out well and quietly.
No negative comments on management or day staff. Night staff often are rude and unhelpful, according to the service user.

My husband has been well looked after during his 2 years at Hillside. It has become his home and the staff make me feel like part of the family. They are very attentive and caring making sure his needs are met. I am updated regularly on anything concerning my husband. I also find the office staff
very welcoming and helpful.

We are very happy with the care given to our cherished mum at Hillside. The compassion, dignity and patience shown to our mum over the last 6 years has been exemplary. We have a good relationship with Carers, Nursing staff and Management alike, and feel reassured in her care during these extremely
difficult times for the family.

My mother has been a resident at Hillside for 6 years now with declining health however, during all that time the one thing that we haven't had to worry about is the level of care that she receives at Hillside. Family visit at least twice a week and she is always well cared for, in her own clothes
and clean - we have always been very impressed by the level of care she receives and how she is seen as person with dignity and choices. The staff respond very well to changes in her condition and are constantly updating her care plan. We are very happy with Hillside and its staff.

Choosing Hillside for my dad was one of the best decisions our family has ever made. He has been living there since 22nd December 2022, and from day one, the staff have treated him so much to see how they truly care, not just for his needs but for him as a person. I leave Hillside every time with
complete peace of mind, knowing my dad is safe, comfortable, and surrounded by people who genuinely care about his wellbeing. The manager is exceptional, always available, approachable and incredibly supportive. While the building itself may be older, the love, compassion, and quality of care inside make Hillside, in my opinion, the very best care home in the area - I will always be grateful to the team for everything they do.

I am very happy with the care given to my mother in law. The staff have looked after her needs very well. I find the staff very helpful and friendly, and are very approachable.

Dad's been residing in Hillside care home for the last 3 years living with severe dementia and sometimes exhibiting very challenging behaviour. The staff treat everybody with compassion, patience and dignity and they're well trained and attentive. There's good camaraderie not only between the staff
but really good bonds exist with the residents too. No complaints with the food/drink. Dad's room could do with a coat of paint but it's clean and comfortable and meets his needs. There are daily activities, entertainer performances, outings and family-inclusive events eg. BBQ's. The manager, Maribelle, never seems to leave the building (but probably should!) She's approachable, knowledgeable and has helped us through challenging times. It's a difficult time moving a relative into care and I'm now having to make care home provision for my Mum as well. Given my experience of Hillside Care Home over the last 3 years, I have no hesitation in placing my trust for her care in their hands too.

We only visit occasionally. The staff are amazingly welcoming, kind, and respectful. We have been in many homes and have to admit we were a bit disappointed in the lounge area, there is no opportunity to avoid the TV, our friend is used to quietude. Today, there was a smell. Maybe it could be
cleaner and a bit more attractive in bedrooms. No experience of food or activities, or value for money.

Hillside Nursing Home has made a big change in my father's health. He seems happy and content - the staff are all very friendly and helpful. Whenever you need something done - it is done straight away. Food always looks good - never anything left on the plate. The home is clean and bright.

My best friend has recently moved to a Care Home in another part of the country. So I just wanted to say a big thank you for all you have done for him during his time at Hillside over the last few years. You have shown great kindness when organising activities for him which he has always seemed to
enjoy. I know he had a particular soft spot for some members of staff and the empathy you have shown him since his illness has taken hold is very much appreciated !! Thank you again & best wishes to you all at Hillside. As soon as I hear the name of his new care home I will once again continue my visits.

The staff, both in reception, and care are excellent. The residents are treated with care, dignity and respect. The only thing I would say is that the place is dirty. White doors have areas of black where hands have been. They have never been cleaned. The whole place could do with a thorough clean
and made brighter and tidier.

Mum has been in the care of Hillside Nursing Home for nearly 3 years now. Mum has severe dementia, is bed ridden and needs two-handed care. The ethos of management and staff at Hillside is amazing; residents are treated and cared for as if they are family. There are always many staff on shift
when I visit. Communication from staff is excellent, whether that is regarding updates; or needing to find solutions to arising problems. So far, I have not met one grumpy member of staff! Having had an awful previous care home experience for Mum, I cannot recommend Hillside enough for peace of mind for the care of your loved one.

We have visited the care home on a number of occasions since 2024 till now at different times, and always found the staff attentive and helpful.
They are happy to discuss my brothers behaviour cheerfully and honestly.
Maybe a new bed would help him to sleep.
He looks a lot more tidy.
He takes
his meds on time.
He is eating regularly.

Mother-in-law admitted a few days ago. Cannot fault the care she has been given. All staff have been fantastic towards her and always make time to answer any questions we have. It's been great to see her out of bed and joining in with the other residents in the shared lounge.

This care home is very welcoming and has a very homely atmosphere. All the staff are very polite and very helpful. I enjoy my visit as so welcoming. Facilities are very good and I'm always offered a cup of tea while I am visiting.

My first impression when my wife was admitted, and still is, the home is very secure and clean. Her single room is a good size and comfortable. There are some residents with greater needs compared to my wife, for example, aggression, verbally and physically. But staff take it in good humour and
would talk them out of it. Staff are always in attendance, walking, feeding and holding hands with them. I am very pleased with Hillside including staff. In my opinion previous homes and hospitals have not wanted to accept responsibility or are not professional dealing with dementia care.
