Hillside Nursing Home

My Mother has lived at Hillside for approx. 9 years, sadly she passed away on 11th Sept. Myself and my family have always found all staff to be caring, compassionate + kind. They go above and beyond their job. A representative of the Nursing Home even attended the funeral with flowers and cards. The management have also provided us with a mobile of my mum. We are so happy that we chose Hillside Nursing Home.

I'm so pleased I chose Hillside to care for my mum. Each member of staff is so caring and patient. They take care of their medical needs very well, they get to know the residents personalities, and the activities are excellent. Food is excellent too!

He is a very fussy eater and quite introverted but the staff have worked very hard to provide meals that he enjoys and to encourage him to verbalise his feelings, both of which have contributed to his improved wellbeing, within the framework of his chronic conditions.

Fantastic care home and very friendly and understanding the care staff a fantastic job always friendly and I love coming to the care home to visit mum I cannot fault the care my mum is receiving. Always loving the activities I can see mum engage with the music and dancing

My mum is very well cared for and all the staff are 100% behind the caring and well being of my mum. The home is very clean and the staff are always helpful when and if I need to ask them anything.

If this is considered 'Gold Standard' I shudder to think how bad these homes can be!

What I appreciate most about this place is that they truly listen whenever I have a concern to raise, and their communication is very good. I am kept regularly updated about everything related to my dad and his care plan is reviewed frequently.

Engaging activities, and accommodating interests of the individual eg reading and glasses are looked after and made available to the users, personal belongings are labelled appropriately for each resident

Never did I think that I would speak so highly of a nursing home. That was until a member of my family was placed at Hillside. The staff are guided by a truly remarkable manager and everyone is treated like family, whether you are a resident, employee or a visitor. Your family are treated with the same love as they would offer their own family. It's a very special place.

What an amazing care home! Not only are the team friendly, kind, fun and professional but they have looked after dad so well that he is looking better, well fed and very happy. There is always a smiling face and nothing is too much trouble. It's a well run care home and we always feel welcome! Great activities for the residents and very inclusive. Sad to say the level of care was absolutely appalling and the room was awful dad walked talked and was self caring he just needed a bit of guidance. This was like a military operation, I got there they gave him a shaved head he is a man that always loved his mid length hair, we were not even consulted , he was the given mild sedation to settle him in as he was not sleeping within 2 days he could not walk could not eat and they put pads on him that upset him so much day 5 he was in hospital with a severe infection , he is now in a new home, walks talks and no pads self caring , he is now the person he was before he got there. I felt quite intimidated when I tried to ask questions in the office I had 4 people at me a absolute disgrace

My wife of Sixty three years has been at Hillside for Five years with cronic Dementia , The staff have looked after her with care dignity and patience. I cannot find one thing that i can find fault with

Mum has been in for a couple of weeks now, and our first impression is one of a friendly caring environment. The office team as well as the HCAs have looked after her, and if needed ensured that she is safe, at the same time saying no when necessary. Mum is very independently minded and appears to be settling in nicely.

I am entirely content with the level of care given to my brother by all staff at the home. It seems to me to be a warm and friendly environment for all the residents, and I have heard nothing from other people to change that view. On a slightly critical note, I am glad that the home decided not to go ahead with a proposed new policy of residents having to see their visitors solely in their rooms, not the lounge. Common sense prevailed.

All aspects of care are carried out well and quietly. No negative comments on management or day staff. Night staff often are rude and unhelpful, according to the service user.

My husband has been well looked after during his 2 years at Hillside. It has become his home and the staff make me feel like part of the family. They are very attentive and caring making sure his needs are met. I am updated regularly on anything concerning my husband. I also find the office staff very welcoming and helpful.

We are very happy with the care given to our cherished mum at Hillside. The compassion, dignity and patience shown to our mum over the last 6 years has been exemplary. We have a good relationship with Carers, Nursing staff and Management alike, and feel reassured in her care during these extremely difficult times for the family.

My mother has been a resident at Hillside for 6 years now with declining health however, during all that time the one thing that we haven't had to worry about is the level of care that she receives at Hillside. Family visit at least twice a week and she is always well cared for, in her own clothes and clean - we have always been very impressed by the level of care she receives and how she is seen as person with dignity and choices. The staff respond very well to changes in her condition and are constantly updating her care plan. We are very happy with Hillside and its staff.

I am very happy with the care given to my mother in law. The staff have looked after her needs very well. I find the staff very helpful and friendly, and are very approachable.
