Hillside Nursing Home offers residential care for the elderly and Nursing Care, including higher needs and dementia care, together with a respite service for other carers in the Romford area. From the day my mother moved in to Hillside Nursing Home the management and staff have been extremely welcoming, supportive, professional and helpful Nothing is too much trouble and everybody is so kind and thoughtful. My mum is so happy and I'm so lucky she is cared for by a team who treat her with
dignity and empathy while at the same time ensuring she is well cared for and safe.

The care my mum receives on a daily base is second to none! The staff are incredibly caring and show my mum so much respect. I am very grateful to them. Yes the establishment is a little tired looking, but the care Mum receives is great and at the end of the day Mum's happiness is all that matters.
I know if ever I needed to speak to any member of staff at Hillside I can anytime of day or night full with confidence, which means a lot to me.

My twin brother moved into Hillside Nursing Home from the hospital, he settled in right away due to the staff always being there to assist him in his daily routine, so he was able to go into the lounge and sit with the other patients during the day. The home was always spotless and the other patients
as well, my brother enjoyed engaging with the staff with a little bit of their own language.
I cannot thank all at Hillside for making my brother's stay as comfortable as he could be with his illness.

The staff, as always, were very welcoming and friendly.
My sister and I were offered tea and biscuits - always a plus!
The lounge was festive with a beautiful Xmas tree.
My dad has been with Hillside for nearly three years, and he is always happy.
My family and I are extremely pleased and thankful
for the care and attention my dad receives.

Although my relative was only in Hillside Nursing Home for a short period of time it was obvious that she benefitted from the care and attention received. At all times the staff were helpful to me and my relatives friends. Taking time to ensure that we were left fully informed throughout. It was very

Our family would like to extend our many thanks to you all for the love and care given to our mum.
Mum came into Hillside in January 2020 and was not expected to live for very long. However, both you and the entire team made every effort to ensure our mum was safe, comfortable and well cared for. Remarkably,
mum went on to live for a 22 months.
We recognise the significant challenges and constraints placed on you and your team over the past two difficult years caused by Covid and government cutbacks but the Hillside team at no time allowed this to detract from your core purpose of giving the very best care to our mum.
Our family are forever in your debt for the personal attention, compassion, and dignity shown to her throughout her stay up to and including her sad passing this morning.
Please extend our sincere thanks to all who got to know our mum and who devoted so much time and effort caring for her.

Hillside Nursing Home is a fantastic place. The staff are very caring and always cheerful despite the difficult job they have. My husband was poorly when he first became a president and the staff have worked hard with him to improve his mobility etc.

As others have said, the outside of the home is a little disappointing, shabby and a bit uncared for, but once your inside and you meet the staff, this is where it really matters. My mom has only been here a few weeks and so far very impressed with the care she is receiving. Staff are lovely, professional
and cheerful. I feel very happy when I leave there knowing she is being looked after very well.

Recently my Nan was placed into Hillside Nursing Home for end of life care. I can honestly say that the staff in this home were second to none. Even though her time at Hillside was short she was treated with nothing but dignity even down to her passing. The carers in this homemade her and us as a family
feel completely at ease with her being there. The support the staff in the home offered everyone involved was amazing. The home were extremely accommodating even allowing my Nan's great children in to see her which we know meant a lot to her in those final days as she was really close to them.
Thank you to all the staff at Hillside Nursing what you did for us will always be remembered. You made a very hard time that little bit more bearable.
The building may look a bit tired but that is just cosmetic, The cleanliness was excellent and the building always smelt extremely clean.
Covid measures in place are good and they are clearly treating the resident's safety as their priority.

Having previously had a bad experience with a vare home elsewhere I was worried when Mum was moved here from hospital but shouldn't have worried. Every member of staff is so helpful, attentive and so kind. My mum looks so well cared for and the place is so clean.

My ex-husband has resided at Hillside since the first lockdown - March 2019. I have found the home to be run, by the manager and her hand-picked staff, excellently. In fact, it is a pleasure for me to visit. Everyone within is friendly and treat the residents with care and respect. This gives me the
assurance that our loved one is being given the best care. I highly recommend Hillside.

Disappointing first impression. Although the outside could do with a bit of attention, few flowers in the flower beds would enhance the home’s appearance tenfold.
Once inside it is very efficiently run by the staff, Covid safety is fully observed.
All of the staff are very caring looking after the
patients. I go home after visiting my mum knowing she is in safe and caring hands, thank you to all the staff.

The care home itself is very run down and shabby, the staff however are very nice and kind to the residents.
However, I felt that at times the staff did not know what they were actually doing, lack of communication and on several occasions, I had to explain that my mum was here on a temporary basis,
they do not encourage residents to be self-sufficient which is important when you are staying there for a short period.
I had to more or less re-write my mum's care plan as she was able to do things that they said she could not, they did not provide me with regular updates on my mum, and the visiting times are awful, changed my mum's GP without my knowledge and had to complain about a man showering my mum on his own.
To be honest, if you are looking for a care home for your loved one think twice about sending them here.

We have a team of trained staff with considerable experience in the care industry. Our staff undergo regular refresher training courses and work hard to give our residents a quality of life that incorporates their dignity and privacy. The home is currently being redecorated and we have dedicated domestic staff who work hard to maintain a safe, clean environment. Should have a blanket, as she is 104-years-old and visits our outside!
