The level of care is excellent. Staff are friendly and upbeat. The home is clean and has undergone some renovation of the hallway floors. Food is average. I live abroad and find it a little difficult with updates on my mum's health and wellbeing. I wish there was better communication.

Kingfisher House Care Home

from Cathy E (Daughter of Resident) published on 18 March 2026
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Kingfisher House is an amazing place. I cannot find fault at all. My mum has lived here for 18 months and is happy, well cared for, treated with respect and compassion. I was impressed when I first met the manager, Alastair, and he came to visit my mum in her old home. He understood her communication
difficulties and it was clear he understood well that this was not a measure of her intelligence. I have seen the culture of treating all residents by all staff as individuals, and I cannot explain how important that is to me. Thank you.
Reply from Luminita Nicoleta-Safta, Operations Director at Kingfisher House Care HomeThank you for sharing this, it really means a lot to us.

It's so lovely to hear that your mum has been happy and well cared for over the past 18 months, and that she's been treated with the respect and understanding she deserves. Taking the time to truly see each person as an individual is something our whole team care deeply about, so your words really resonate.

We're also pleased that your first impressions stayed with you, and that you've felt confident in the care from the very beginning.

Thank you again for your kind feedback, it means a great deal to us all at Kingfisher House.

Best wishes,
Luminita

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Queensway House has a very warm and caring feel and the staff are always very attentive and respond quickly to any care needs. The dining and living areas are spacious and bright, the bedrooms bright and clean. We have been delighted at the care my dad received, initially from the dementia staff and
laterally from the nursing team. We felt that during his final months he was well looked after with care and compassion. The team kept us informed on a regular basis.
Reply from Charlotte Ford, Home Manager at Queensway HouseThank you for taking the time to share this. It's really lovely to hear how warmly Queensway House has felt and that you were happy with the care your dad received.

We understand how important it is to feel reassured during times like this, so it means a great deal to know he was looked after with such compassion and that you felt kept informed and supported along the way.

Your kind words mean a lot to the whole team. Thank you again for sharing your experience.

Lynwood Care Centre

Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My wife Lorena has been resident in Lynwood for more than 3 years (since December 2022). I chose Lynwood based on previous knowledge and experience of a friend. A particular benefit to her has been the in-house physiotherapy and the entertainments. The building is light and bright with an open aspect
and the garden area is a great pleasure as are other shared space. In our experience the management team has been responsive to any concerns and the care staff have given Lorena loving care and treat me as a friend.
Reply from Nicola Hall, Home Manager at Lynwood Care CentreThank you for taking the time to share your experience of Lynwood Care Centre, and for placing your trust in us over the past three years.
It's really lovely to hear how much your wife has benefited from the physiotherapy and activities, and that she enjoys the light, open spaces and garden that we have here. Just as importantly, it means a great deal to know that you've felt listened to, supported and welcomed as part of the Lynwood community.
Your kind words about the care team and the relationships built over time will mean so much to us all. Thank you again for your kind feedback.
Best wishes,
Nicola

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
I arrived at the facility at 12.30 pm on Friday 20th February 2026 to visit my Stepmother whom I visit every few months as I live away from London. I was led to her room by a member of staff who was very polite. My Stepmother told me that she was very happy at the "House", and she had everything she
needed. Her room was very clean and whilst visiting a member of staff brought her lunch and later a desert.
I had a chat with The General Manager in his office, who was very impressive and informative and was well versed as to the mental health situation of my Stepmother.
Generally, I was very happy of her care in the facility.
Reply from Emmanuel Torsoo, Home Manager at Alan Morkill HouseThank you for taking the time to share your visit to Alan Morkill House. It's really reassuring to hear that your stepmother feels happy and settled, and that she feels she has everything she needs.

We're pleased that you felt welcomed by the team and that your visit gave you a chance to see how well she is being cared for. Knowing families leave feeling reassured means a lot to us.

Thank you once again for your kind feedback.

The New Deanery

My mum was a resident in the New Deanery for nearly 2 years until she died from dementia in February 2026. I can't praise the home and its staff highly enough for the way they looked after my mum. They became my mums second family and cared for he so well, going above and beyond. I could tell that
she was loved by many of them . As relatives you also become part of their family and they look after you as much as the resident. This was particularly evident when my mother was end of life when they gave me great support and comfort. My family and I were also very touched that some of mums carers attended her funeral.
The home was always spotlessly clean and smelled fresh whenever I visited, all of the staff were very friendly and always said hello and had time for a chat. The food was great too. Mums room was lovely light and airy and spacious , looking over the gardens, which are lovely to walk around.
New Deanery gave me the peace of mind that mum was cared for when I was not there
Reply from Rachel Marlow, Home Manager at The New DeaneryThank you for sharing such a heartfelt review. We are so sorry for your loss.
It means a great deal to hear that your mum was cared for with such kindness and dedication during her time at The New Deanery. Knowing that the team became like a second family to her, and that she was so clearly loved by those caring for her, is incredibly touching.
We're also very moved to hear that you and your family felt supported, especially during such a difficult time. Being there for our wonderful residents and their loved ones is something our entire team care deeply about.
Your kind words about the home, the staff and the environment mean so much to everyone here. Thank you for placing your trust in us to care for your mum.
Wishing you all the best,
Rachel

We found St Marys court a wonderful caring , clean stay for my father while he was there.
Staff were attentive and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Above all , staff showed they really did care about the residents and all residents were happy despite all their health troubles.
The food was
of a good standard and plentiful too serving food regularly throughout the day. Plenty of entertainment was provided to residents from various singing music groups to general arts crafts and jigsaw afternoon s.
Also super security in reception ensuring that loved ones would not be able to go out unless accompanied by staff members

Mum has been in for a couple of weeks now, and our first impression is one of a friendly caring environment. The office team as well as the HCAs have looked after her, and if needed ensured that she is safe, at the same time saying no when necessary. Mum is very independently minded and appears to be
settling in nicely.
