First, may I use this space to thank the Staff at Hatfield Nursing Home for allowing my Nan to depart from us in a safe, secure, clean and comfortable way.
My nan was admitted to Hatfield Nursing Home under Palliative Care. From her arrival, the staff and management warmly welcomed her, making her
feel at home; as a result, my usually stubborn nan settled in faster than we expected.
Nothing was too much to ask and came without hesitation. Sometimes when dealing with others, they would come after and she never had to wait long for help.
The place is very clean and always kept tidy. Staff there took time to ensure the place ran smoothly and with pride.
The home is very accommodating for the visitors too. During her last couple of days, bedding essentials were provided for my mother and sister to be with her by her side.
I personally would like to thank the Home who didn't just help my nan remain comfortable in her last hours, but also helped us the family knowing she was looked after

This care home is absolutely amazing, as soon as you step inside you are greeted by a friendly face, beautiful decorated, lovely calm surroundings, going onto the ward where my mother is being cared for as she comes to the end of her life, the staff are exceptional they go above and beyond, they can't
do enough for us, they keep us updated on everything that they are doing for her to make her as comfortable as they can

Mixed Reaction to this place....
The positives - A modern building. The bedrooms are bright, airy and spacious and have ensuites. Nice dining room and lounge which residents are rightly encouraged to use.
The vast majority of staff are caring, professional and patient.
The food is good and the place
overall is very clean.
The negatives - A small minority of staff aren't as good as they could be, scrolling on their phones too much rather than attending to residents. On one occasion there was a heated argument between two staff members. I reported this but heard nothing back.
The management really doesn't like complaints or criticisms and at best a delay in investigating or nothing done at all.
My dad was in hospital for a week and a half. During that time, no call from the Nursing Home to me or my family asking how he was. My dad sadly died. I went into the home to tell staff. I was told "it's all for the best: which was upsetting.
I was a regular visitor, visiting twice a day

From the moment we first visited Hatfield nursing home , we knew it was the right place for our loved one. The warmth, compassion, and professionalism shown by the Manager and entire staff have consistently exceeded our expectations.


The caregivers go above and beyond, treating residents with dignity,

patience, and genuine kindness. Whether it's assistance with daily tasks or simply offering a comforting word or smile, the staff are always attentive and respectful. It's clear they truly care about the people they look after.


The facilities are spotless, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully designed to feel like home. There are cozy communal areas, safe outdoor spaces, and plenty of opportunities for residents to socialize and engage in activities suited to their interests and abilities. They care for our family also for our visit , my mum has Been to many different

From the moment we first visited Hatfield Nursing Home,it very clear that this was more then just a care facility it is warm and welcoming,the staff are truly exceptional kind attentive and genuinely invested in the well being and happiness
of every resident ,they all treated my mum and everyone else with respect and dignity and compassion,there patience and professionalism never went unnoticed,our family has had the full support from the manager and all the staff we have always been informed with every information needed.
The environment is beautifully maintained with cozy clean living spaces.
Knowing our loved ones are cared for and genuinely happy gives us peace of mind,we cannot thank the staff at Hatfield Nursing home enough with there dedication ,we would definitely without hesitation recommend.

My Mum, a dementia patient was a resident of this wonderful care home . She passed away last month. Throughout her stay she's received
exceptional, outstanding care and support on all levels. The staff are excellent, hard-working, kind, compassionate, professional, attention to detail and personable.
Nothing is too much for the staff, they go above and beyond expectations. The Home manager, and Deputy Manager and their team are wonderful. They are superstars in every way. Thank you very much for all you have done for my Mum with much appreciation and very best wishes always.

Excellent care provided to my Mum during her stay as a resident of the Hatfield Nursing Home. More specifically during the period of end of life - All carers looking after my Mum were very close to her and provided exceptional high standard level of professional Care. My mum moved to Hatfield nursing home after being diagnosed with PSP a very rare disorder which has no cure we had viewed a few care homes but Hatfield Nursing home was the one chosen we have found the home to have lovely staff and mum is being looked after very well the manager is lovely nothing is
to much trouble she showed us around and asked lots of question of what mums needs and sorted it so that mum gets the best care and is happy i would recommend this care homes to anyone thinking about it

My mum always looks well taken care of. Always looking smart, she visits the hair dressers every week, which is what she loves as it is all on site. The care staff are always friendly and nothing it too much. The management team are always around, and when they see us they are so welcoming and always

Always find staff very kind and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. I believe they care not only for residents but for families and take our worries and any concerns on board and offer help and reassurance. I asked if my mums room could be rearranged and some shelving and picture hooks put up and

Everyone is really lovely. They always make me happy and laugh. The carers are kind and always help me when I need to do something. I don't like to come from my room because it's lovely and I can watch what I like. All staff come in to speak with me several times a day.

We as a family could not have asked for a better care home for our elderly mother. In the 6 months she was there the carers, nurses and management team were outstanding! The care, the love and kindness each resident is shown is amazing and genuine! I've cannot recommend enough!

I have found everything about Hatfield Nursing Home extremely kind, considerate and helpful. Management, carers and staff are excellent. My wish is only that I could get her nearer to me, so that I could see her more often. I find it difficult now doing the journey.

I came to see my friend who I have not seen for a while. He looked really happy and content. I could see the home has had some renovations, which was lovely to see. The staff were engaging really well with my friend and they were bringing out his smile. When I came in he was engaging in activities and
there was a lot of laughter throughout my visit. I spoke with the management team who also were walking around the unit and they engaged with every resident on their way. I love to see everyone involved. If I am ever to go into a care home it definitely would be this one. Thanks for all you do.

When my friend first came to you it was a huge wrench for him, he didn't really understand what was happening, all he could understand was that he had lost something important but didn't know what it was. He was angry, aggressive and broken. The first few times we visited him he was angry, dishevelled,
unshaven and did not seem to be thriving. But now he has settled in and accepted his new home, on our last visit he recognised us, he was happy and chatty, not one swear word and we had a lovely time with him. The staff we have met have all been lovely and extremely helpful.

Since my father arrived at the care home he was shown nothing but empathy and care all carried out with the utmost dignity. The staff are all so lovely and make a real effort to interact with the residents and their relatives. Unfortunately, we recently lost my dad but he was made as comfortable as
he could be in his last few weeks and that has given us some comfort as a family.

The staff are excellent so caring, nothing is too much trouble. Our mum is taken very great care of, they have great facilities. Everyone is so friendly.

I have worked at Hatfield for over 9 years, progressing from a carer, to senior carer, deputy manager and into my current role as Home Manager. I am responsible for ensuring the safety, care and comfort of our residents as well as supporting my staff.


My proudest moment to date is winning the Compassion Award for Residential Care at the 2024 Hertfordshire Care Awards.
