Partridge House

I first arrived at Partridge House on August 27th 2025. My first impression was the feeling of peace. Everyone from staff to residents was so welcoming, the clean smell everywhere I went, so much laughter going on and finally the room which was available as soon as I walked in I knew this was 'it', I said this is where I would like to be. Thirteen months later I know it was the best decision I had ever made. I am very happy here, 2 days ago I had my 89th birthday here, chef made me a birthday cake, which we all get - I had a lovely day. Activities: Making plasticine pumpkins, when dry, we will paint them. There is always things to do - we have a lovely garden. I spend time out there deadheading plants etc. and go for walks around the garden or sit out there weather permitting. Reading 0 I am an avid reader - I can read a book a day - I also have music, CD's, headphones with me. We have musicians, etc. visiting. We are well looked after.

I am so grateful for the kind and considered care my husband receives at Partridge House. He has very difficult symtoms to deal with because of having both parkinsons and alzheimer's, the staff make such efforts to accomodate his needs and make his days more bearable, bringing kindness and interest into his life with singing and dancing and art activities. A smart speaker has been installed for him so he can listen to his favourite music which he finds calming and which brings back pleasant memories.

My mother in law seems very happy, and content. Staff are lovely, every thing is clean, rooms are spacious, light, and have made Mums room, homely with familier things, access to garden is great, & safe. Entertainment, barbecues, craft. The care home have made residents a special place, where they can be well looked after, with photos on there doors, saying what they were and what they use to do, is great too

I feel the new manager listened to me and did a new care plan for my husband. He has so many health problems, but I feel all the staff understand his needs. He is well looked after, and they keep him comfortable.

Having visited Partridge House in the past to visit a friend, I knew how lovely it was there. Spacious, clean, and light, beautiful gardens. So when I needed respite for my husband I had no doubt at all that this place would suit him perfectly. He loved the staff and actually helped them do small chores, which kept him amused. Having purpose. I will certainly use again for regular respite if I get funding in place.

My mum was here for Palliative care for a few months and I moved her before she died. This home is not suitable for Palliative Care. The carers were friendly and tried their best in difficult circumstances. Sometimes there were no staff to be found and they regularly didn't check on my mum for over an hour. Her emergency button was usually on the floor or out of reach. The food was very poor and so was the cleanliness. There was Faeces on my mums wall for weeks, despite me asking for it to be cleaned. The arial in my mums TV was accidentally broken and it took over two months for this to be sorted. The nursing staff were very reluctant to call the GP and did not act quick enough when my mum was in pain. Male residents were allowed to go in my mums room and eat her food. Safeguarding was non existent. The Manager made no effort to reassure me or listen to any if my concerns. This place is not good enough and I would not recommend it.

The new management and team have turned this home around in the last few years to be a wonderful place to live.

The home was clean ,the staff were friendly, the residents looked happy and, well taken care of.

This is a a lovely care home with friendly staff who are passionate and understand their duty of care . I have literally been impressed everytime I have dropped by for a visit , the cleanliness and service is impeccable . Welldone guys keep up the good work ..

The manager has been brilliant at accommodating my requests for respite, sometimes at short notice. The regular breaks enable me to recharge my batteries. It's a great comfort to me to know she is receiving the best care at Partridge House.

Such a lovely environment - so glad I found this place for my mum. Staff are so welcoming and brilliant fun to chat to and nothing is too much to do for them. So grateful. So happy knowing my mum is settled and in such safe hands. Thank you everyone!

Although this temporary placement was not appropriate for my mum’s needs, I have nothing but praise for the entire team at Partridge House for the care and dignity they showed towards my mum, and for treating her as an individual.

My husband has dementia and spent 2 weeks in Partridge House in order to give me time to recharge my batteries. The manager and her wonderful team of nursing staff and carers did a sterling job of caring for him. The interaction of the staff with the residents was very friendly as he was treated like family which created an air of positivity. The staff are all very helpful and attentive not only to the residents but also to the needs of visitors. Meals were eaten with other residents and were taken on walks and encouraged to participate in activities that were offered. The home was clean and tidy. Thank you everyone for looking after him. Keep up the good work.

There have been many changes since my mum moved into Partridge House over 5 years ago. In particular in relation to staff and change of ownership. A year ago there was a high turnover of agency staff which was far from ideal. Since then the new management has done a fantastic job in turning things around and there is now a great team of permanent staff. Due to the wonderful care and attention Mum is receiving from the staff she is happier and more content than she has ever been since moving here which is a huge comfort to me. Mum's needs are being met and I am truly grateful for the loving care that she receives. The activities and social events that are organised throughout the year are great fun for both residents and visitors. The home is bright and spacious and once again it now has a happy and welcoming family atmosphere. I am so happy and lucky that my mum lives at Partridge House and would like to say a big thank you to all the staff for their care and hard work.

I am very happy with the care Mum receives. I truly admire the staff and how hard they work in difficult circumstances at times. They are attentive to Mum and I love seeing her smile and enjoying life, even though the dementia is progressing. I have so enjoyed the activities, bbq and quiz night. Mother's day tea was truly delightful. I follow the website and enjoy the weekly reports on how Mum is doing. The staff are always welcoming and I feel so lucky knowing that Mum is well cared for.

Things were a bit dire here this time last year; however, the new management and permanent staff have improved things immensely. My friend is more settled now, and I don't worry about him quite so much when I'm not there. There is still some way to go with improvements, but they are heading in the right direction now.

When my wife first moved into Partridge Nursing home. I had great reservations regarding whether I had made the right decision as there were several issues that came to light regarding care and support for her needs, and the lack of staff. However, what I did not know at the time was that the home was in the process of changing ownership, which has made great efforts to move forward which I hope will continue to see more improvements.

My mother spent two weeks in Partridge House while her bathroom was being adapted. All the staff were really friendly and professional. My mum enjoyed her time there.

I think it's like a family home, makes you feel very welcome, care is great! A lot of work has been put into this place to make all residents happy and visitors. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for the current team. Partridge House Care Home is a happy place.
