Fantastic carehome, my mother loves them, and lucton house staff loves her, my mother has only been there since May this year and she has settled in there as if she has known them all her life. This is a fantastic care home and I would recommend it to anyone how is looking for a safe and very well run
care home. The one thing I will say is the the staff at lucton house are a credit to the business. Well done to you all from my family. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN.

My husband and I have placed his 100 year old mother at Lucton House as he now has health issues. She loves it. The care is wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. Every aspect of her care is taken care of, and she is very settled. Mum tells everyone it's her home now and she loves it.

Whenever we visit my sister, she always has a lot to chat about and seems very bright and cheerful. All the staff are so friendly and helpful, which helps to make our visit more enjoyable.
I have been here for some of the social events and my sister has enjoyed then and also the outings she has gone
on with members of staff.
She really likes her flat, it is always clean and tidy and very homely.

My Father has been a resident of the home for almost 5 months now. In this time the care, attention and respect he's been shown by staff has in my opinion been wonderful.
I found all the staff I have had contact with to be genuine, caring and always upbeat. Nothing is too much trouble for them and
they'll always take time out to answer any questions regarding my Dad.
I'd like to especially thank the excellent events co-oordinator and her daughter who always go the extra mile in providing activities, games and most importantly fun for my Dad and the other residents.
Overall I am really impressed by the home and how my Dad's care is managed. It gives me valuable peace of mind to know that my Dad is receiving the care and support he needs 24/7.

Mom continues to be well cared for and stimulated, not only by the activities but by the simple day to day interactions she has with staff and other residents.
It may seem a little thing but the use of her name, asking for her choices from options & explaining things to her are big plus points when
it would be so easy not to do them.
Testimony to the staff & the ethos of the organisation

Great care home, staff are brilliant and friendly. Couldn't wish for anything better for dad, he has thoroughly enjoyed his time here and has loved the food. Having spent seven weeks on respite here we would definitely be happy for dad to stay permanently if his circumstances change.

My Mother has recently gone to Lucton house. She has found the staff to be very kind and polite to her. She is making new friends and is enjoying all aspects of the care she is having. From going to view Lucton house to settling my Mother in her apartment the support received from all the staff has
been appreciated.

Lucton House

from T H (Niece of Resident) published on 28 March 2025

Lucton House is a comfortable, homely building .
When our loved one first moved into Lucton House a couple of years ago , we couldn't fault the place . Unfortunately the last 12 months the place has gone down hill.
There is such a high turnover of staff & I think this needs to be looked into why
this is happening.
Something we are disappointed with is our loved one being dressed in clothes that don't belong to them. I think it's really important to respect a persons identity & by dressing them in other people's clothes /shoes is not respectful at all. All clothes are labelled and each residents clothes should be washed individually to prevent cross contamination & clothes getting lost /mixed up.
On a few occasions the bathroom in our loved one's room has been left dirty & messy , with dirty pads thrown in the bath & clean pads hanging over the bathroom door!
Our loved one seems comfortable there , it's just a shame things of changed .

Thank you taking the time to write this review, which I am aware is based on feedback you gave to me in 2024 and has since been rectified. Whilst staff recruitment can certainly be an issue in the sector, at Lucton House we have an incredibly strong retention rate, with many of our staff having worked here for many years. We are also very proud to have 0% agency use as well, something not many care homes are able to boast. I am unsure where your observation on staff leaving comes from, but I would be happy to chat to you and show you why this is not the case. As the issues you have spoken about here were fully addressed when you brought them to my attention last year and you have not raised them since, I assume the matter has been concluded to your satisfaction but as always, I operate an open door policy and a culture of open feedback should you wish to speak with me at any time. Warmest regards, Home manager

The manager and her team are amazing, they are really supportive. Hard decision of putting my Nan in care home for respite and even though taking her from her home I knew we made the right decision with manor.
She walks 100% better than when she was admitted and the care staff and all staff were so
kind and generous
Would definitely recommended Manor House

Moving a loved one to a care home is probably the hardest decision to have to make, & even more so, finding the best place for them.
From our initial dealings with Manor House to now, four weeks after mum moved in, we have been very happy with how the move has gone. Mum is as settled as she can be,
given her dementia. The staff in the care home are absolutely wonderful. Every member of staff have shown such wonderful care for my mum, & have taken time to know her as an individual, which is so important. Management staff are visible, have good relationships with the residents, and the door to their office is always open. The activities organised for the residents are fun, plentiful and keep everyone engaged and involved. The activity coordinator is fun, enthusiastic and committed, and I can see the benefit that my mum gets from taking part. The food is great too. The staff have been so supportive of us as a family at the hardest time. We are very thankful we found Manor House for mum.

Visits to my sister are not getting easier because of her Alzheimer's disease. However, I was surprised to find, when I arrived at 12.30pm that her bed didn't look fully made and there was a smell of urine in the room. I went in to the bathroom and found a pile of dirty clothes ready for washing.

My mom, who has vascular dementia and is prone to falls, has been at the Manor House Care Home for 8 weeks now and will be a permanent resident here, she has settled in well and considering these 8 weeks were over Christmas and included a planed hospital admission for cataract I am surprised at how
quickly this has happened. I put this down to the care staff and the accommodation who have taken their time to get to know my mom and what she likes. I was able to personalise her room with photos, memorabilia and small pieces of furniture from her flat so she felt safe and comfortable, I also believe this helps those with dementia as their health can fluctuate greatly if these are not in place. The safe also supports me with organising a new GP and accessing her health care needs from a different location as Mom came from outside of the Birmingham area. If you are looking for a friendly care home with lovely staff you will not be disappointed.

My mum has lived here for over a year now. I was worried about the transition from living in her own home to being in residential care, but the staff have made her so very welcome and have a genuine affection for Mum, so my worries have eased. Mum says that she feels lucky to be here. She has a pleasant
flat which is kept clean and fresh. Food is cooked on the premises with great care and attention. If issues arise staff listen and make changes. There have been some lovely variety of activities and events this December to make Christmas special.

I was very happy today 25th December 2024 the 2 young men who looked after Dad today had a warm smile and I felt very happy leaving him in their care, these 2 young men had a smile, a warmth not just doing a job but seemed to enjoy looking after the ones in their care. I felt comfortable leaving my
dad today even though I am sad to do this but him being looked after is our main concern that he is treated with respect and dignity. It is not a 9 to 5 but a genuine care and love for those they look after. I love the way they talk to him, giving him the respect due. I felt a bit of joy today as I saw the way they handled our dad showing that they enjoy what they do. Sometimes it's hard to judge at face value but I felt in myself that they cared for him. Even though we left I felt that they enjoyed looking after their patients with a smile and laughter, which was not false
To be made sure he is treated as though he is their family as well. It's just not a job but a vocation of love.

I have been visiting a good friend for the last number of months. I am very impressed by how comfortable and homely I find it at Lucton House. The flat is really lovely and my friend is very happy living here. I have seen a great improvement in her wellbeing and I know she enjoys the food provided.
She is all in all much better living here in such lovely surroundings after leaving her lovely home. The staff are always very helpful also.
