The Deanery is such a welcoming home to come to whatever the door you walk in. The Staff are amazing People who never fail to make myself and most importantly, my grandma Smile. If I had to take my grandma away from the deanery and to her happy place, I'd bring her right back.

PG is a wonderful nursing home with loving caring professional staff.
From the moment you walk in, it's welcoming warm friendly staff make both visitors and residents feel at home.
My lovely Mum has settled in here right from day 1, ( she has been here for 10 months now ) she's very happy and all of the staff are excellent, caring, and they always have a smile and time to chat. Giving us such a peace of mind and the best care for Mum that we could ask for.
Very Grateful for a fab team.

Well done everyone. Xx

Review of Peverel Green Care Home from Lesley M (Niece of Resident) published on 17 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

I am very happy to provide a very positive review of Peverel Green Care Home. My aunt has been a resident for just over a year and she sadly passed away this week. During the time that she was a resident, we always found the home clean and tidy, and the staff friendly and attentive. We have been impressed with the facilities and the activities provided for the residents which we know my aunt used to enjoy. In particular, for instance, we were able to celebrate birthdays in a private space at the home which we enjoyed. Most importantly, we feel that the care provided by the nursing staff was always provided with respect and consideration, and we always felt that my aunt was looked after with care and professionalism. We would certainly recommend this home as an excellent place to provide care for elderly residents.

My experience at The New Deanery have not been to a care home before, soon as I wentie in all the staff made me welcome all very friendly and the residence I spoke to said they like the staff as they treat them all the same. It was nice to feel the atmosphere was nice and carmen. While I was there I did singing and exercise. I though it was very good I live on my own so it was good for me to talk. I was born in Dorset brought up in Shropshire, came to Essex as a nanny 60 years ago they love it.

My father was admitted to The New Deanery after a bad fall which left him virtually imobile. He was just short of his 100th birthday and up until this time looked after himself at home. I cannot believe how well he has been looked after from senior management right through all the staff to the housekeepers with no exception and the home is spotlessly clean everywhere we are now 7 weeks down the line father has agreed to become a resident thankfully. He has said it would be a job to kind fault and that 'he feels safe here'.

In my experience the staff at The New Deanery have been lovely - compassionate, caring and dedicated to providing high quality care. The grounds are lovely with modern facilities. There's always a positive staff attitude when I've visited, which I think reflects to residents and friends/family members.

My mum was a resident in the New Deanery for nearly 2 years until she died from dementia in February 2026. I can't praise the home and its staff highly enough for the way they looked after my mum. They became my mums second family and cared for he so well, going above and beyond. I could tell that she was loved by many of them . As relatives you also become part of their family and they look after you as much as the resident. This was particularly evident when my mother was end of life when they gave me great support and comfort. My family and I were also very touched that some of mums carers attended her funeral.
The home was always spotlessly clean and smelled fresh whenever I visited, all of the staff were very friendly and always said hello and had time for a chat. The food was great too. Mums room was lovely light and airy and spacious , looking over the gardens, which are lovely to walk around.

New Deanery gave me the peace of mind that mum was cared for when I was not there

We found St Marys court a wonderful caring , clean stay for my father while he was there.
Staff were attentive and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Above all , staff showed they really did care about the residents and all residents were happy despite all their health troubles.
The food was of a good standard and plentiful too serving food regularly throughout the day. Plenty of entertainment was provided to residents from various singing music groups to general arts crafts and jigsaw afternoon s.

Also super security in reception ensuring that loved ones would not be able to go out unless accompanied by staff members
