Peverel Green Care Home

from Katie L (Daughter of Resident) published on 20 August 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Peveral Green is a truly outstanding care home that offers exceptional care and support for both residents and their families. My mum has been living here for some time now, and I can honestly say she feels completely safe and secure-a feeling that has brought us immense peace of mind. She has formed
genuine, warm relationships with the carers and staff, who treat her with kindness, respect, and dignity every day.

The care team is compassionate, professional, and always takes time to understand each resident as an individual. They go above and beyond to create a positive, nurturing environment. The facilities are excellent-clean, modern, and designed with residents' comfort in mind. There is also a wide variety of activities on offer, which keeps everyone engaged and entertained.

One of the real highlights is the beautiful garden space. It's large, peaceful, and immaculately maintained-a perfect place for residents to relax or take a gentle stroll.

My mum went into The Deanery as a resident due to an emergency situation when she became ill. The staff were absolutely fantastic, friendly, welcoming & reassuring towards her & us as a family.
Through - out mums time as a resident she received excellent first class care. Staff were extremely kind,
patient, friendly & professional.
All her physical & mental health needs were met. Mum had a restricted diet which the catering staff facilitated ensuring her nutritional needs were met. Managerial staff were available to discuss issues & provide us with support throughout her stay.
Mum being at the Deanery was an excellent experience which I highly recommend.

Peverel Green Care Home

from J B (Daughter of Resident) published on 31 July 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

Peveral Green Care Home is light, bright, clean and spacious with a beautiful, well kept large garden with grassed and paved areas and ample outdoor seating areas. The basic care of all residents is good overall, although sometimes care of individual residents and attention to detail could be improved.
Retention of good staff should be a priority and staffing levels increased overall. Whilst weekly activity schedules look interesting initially, my experience is that quite often they don't actually happen or if they do, are often not accessible to the majority of residents. Occasionally small groups of residents are invited to get together with staff to reminisce memories and share stories about their lives which I think is a really positive and stimulating experience for them. Residents are also encouraged to sit together for mealtimes which is really positive for them and their individual dietary needs are always met.

Reply from Lianne Parkin, Home Manager at Peverel Green Care Home

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for your feedback. Recruitment and retention of good quality, caring staff is always a priority in care homes but does sometimes present challenges. Our home actually has a very strong retention rate, with many permanent staff having been with us since we opened. Our planned activity schedule is varied and inclusive, and whilst we encourage residents to participate, some residents are unable, and some may choose not to take part on a particular day. When this is the case, plans can be changed at short notice to meet the preferences of the residents.

My mother has been in your care for 4 months now. In that time, she has been given exemplary care, compassion & safety. The food she has been offered, more like a restaurant than canteen. The activities offered are carefully planned and fit for dementia patients. Nothing is too much to ask. The patients
are never forced to do something they object to.

The overall care of my mother is excellent. The staff are very attentive. Despite my mother's dementia she enjoys the meals and sometimes contributes to the activities depending on her current mood. Despite this, I have witnessed the staff's attempts to include her. The building itself is becoming quite
tired. I am confident my mother is well looked after.

Respite and subsequent end of life care for my brother over a 6-7 week period; Lovely, kind and human staff throughout the team from cleaning and catering through to management and all care levels. Cheerful when we needed our spirits lifting and quiet and respectful when end of life care was put in
place.
Aimed to cater for individual food requirements, very supportive and welcoming to family member on round the clock presence~couldn't have received a more compassionate experience.
Very helpful in mitigating shortfalls in communication and service from a previous care provider on several occasions, which would have had significant impact on the end of life situation without the management staff's timely interventions. For that we are very grateful as a family, that we could ensure the end of life experience that he deserved and received at the New Deanery.

I have only visited 4 times for approximately one hour each time. I do not know anything about the activities or the food provided or the value for money so I couldn't complete the form very accurately, but everything seems fine to me. My cousin appears to be happier now than when she did when she
first moved in.

The home has changed so much over the last 2 years with the new staff team and management, the residents go into the community on a regular basis, the activity staff go out of their way to provide as much fun as they can each day, such a happy place to come and see my friend she seems so happy and settled.

Mum had been living on her own for almost 2 years, eating badly, no social interaction and becoming increasingly unwell to the point her physical health hit rock bottom and she needed care. Peverel Green to the rescue! They have restored her physical and mental health to amazing levels. All the staff,
from carers to cleaners, have been so friendly and caring. They have tempted her to eat again, to socialise and become our mum again. Thank you.
