My mum has just finished a 4 week placement here at Marlborough Court after a hip fracture. From the moment mum arrived every member of the team has been so incredibly kind, compassionate and caring towards mum, she has been so well cared for by everyone.
We are ever so grateful to everyone here at
Marlborough Court. As we leave a zumba class is gong, what a great team.

Kent House

from Shirley D (Daughter of Resident) published on 8 October 2025

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
When my father was moved to Kent House, it was a big shift in our lifestyle as a family. Up to that point, despite his age of 90 years, he had been independent but due to dementia he was struggling to manage on his own. When we visited Kent House I felt an immediate sense of friendliness and a good
atmosphere as well as freshness and brightness. All the residents seemed very comfortable and the staff were genuinely committed. After my dad was admitted to Kent House in December 2023, he settled in very well and all his needs were attended to with sensitivity and compassion. At times he was a bit cantankerous but this was managed with alacrity and good humour. There were times he was admitted to the hospital as an emergency, but this was handled calmly and a huge weight was taken off my shoulders. I cannot recommend this Home more highly and have been very satisfied with the care delivered with compassion and kindness.

When you lose someone you care and love, it is hard to come to terms with. But to my surprise the staff of Waverly saw my grief, they came to me with empathy, caring, compassion, kindness and commitment, they made me feel that I wasn't standing alone with my friend, they all loved and enjoyed Lillian,
a very independent lady right up to her end. The staff sat by her side when she was confused and cared, they made her feel safe and not alone. I can't thank the staff enough for their love and understanding and dedication to all the residents in their care, they were all treated with respect. Thank you.

WOW! What can I say. The moment we stepped into the Care Home, we knew that this was the place for my Father. Continuous attention/care for my Father. Wonderful care and empathy for my Mother who visited everyday. The care / dignity given to my Father (Resident) was truly respectful. Every single member

Hillside Nursing Home

from Vince M (Son of Resident) published on 24 September 2025

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Dad's been residing in Hillside care home for the last 3 years living with severe dementia and sometimes exhibiting very challenging behaviour. The staff treat everybody with compassion, patience and dignity and they're well trained and attentive. There's good camaraderie not only between the staff
but really good bonds exist with the residents too. No complaints with the food/drink. Dad's room could do with a coat of paint but it's clean and comfortable and meets his needs. There are daily activities, entertainer performances, outings and family-inclusive events eg. BBQ's. The manager, Maribelle, never seems to leave the building (but probably should!) She's approachable, knowledgeable and has helped us through challenging times. It's a difficult time moving a relative into care and I'm now having to make care home provision for my Mum as well. Given my experience of Hillside Care Home over the last 3 years, I have no hesitation in placing my trust for her care in their hands too.

I was referred to Brackenbridge House via Hospital for further care.
My experience was one of friendly, proffesional, and detailed, a well oiled machine of whom I would reccomend to anybody that are looking for a Care Home of stature.

My mother has been resident in Burrows House for about three years now. I do not live locally but I am able to visit every couple of months. My sister does live nearby and visits the home at least once per week. In all our dealings with the staff a Burrows house we have seen nothing but a considerate
and caring attitude. At the time we chose Burrows house for my mother we considered other bigger, glossier and probably better equipped homes. We were completely swayed by the warmth and kindness of the staff.
My mother is very frail in body and mind . She has very little capability for enjoyment and she needs care and kindness above all else. Every member of staff I have dealt with at Burrows House provides this care willingly and sincerely. I have great respect for them all.
