My brother is very happy and well looked after at Norwood Green. The carers are very kind and considerate. They treat residents with respect and empathy.
The annual bbq was fun and well organised. The entertainment was excellent and they engaged the residents in music and fun.

Food was prepared by the chef and was very well presented and tasted amazing.

Some of the staff are very apathetic. The room was extremely hot, and fans had been removed. I can say that the deputy manager, whose office is on the 1st floor was very helpful and friendly. Cleo, the activity organiser, is a breath of fresh air. Please consider some of her suggestions. Residents sit in front of the television as the day's main activity. Have asked several times for the relatives' minutes, but this has not been sent to me either. I have been in communication with Dido and her assigned social worker from Adult Social Services.

My mother received respite care following a fall and hospital admission. During her six weeks stay we never met any of the management team, only receptionists, nurses, carers and laundry staff. Although she had a catheter, she would wake many mornings in a wet bed and often have a wet skirt during the day. On one visit a soiled pad was sitting on the bathroom floor complete with flies. My mother was accused of tampering with the catheter herself, but staff later admitted it was faulty. They taped it up when she left to prevent it leaking. She was unable to toilet herself so could not have left the soiled pad.
On entry to the home she had level 2 bedsores. On the day she left one of these was assessed as being at stage 3 and nearly through to the bone.
She was unable to eat some of the food and in four weeks her weight went from 41.9kg to 36.7.

She needed a blood test done. The GP wrote an urgent request for this to be done, but it was a 2 day delay before it was done.

Overall Experience

We are very happy with everything care mum's pleased with the home and we have no concerns. The staff are always smiling and happy, well coming. Peregrine House was the second choice and we are happy mum ended here. I would recommend the home to everyone!

My mum as a recent new resident has received a fantastic welcome and that has enabled her to settle in really well. Lots of activities & variety to keep her stimulated. Really pleased and really grateful to see Mum so happy in her time of need. Thank you everyone at Baugh House.

My mother-in-law was cared for at Burrows House for the last 10 years. However, sadly she died just before reaching her 99th birthday.
From the moment we walked through the doors of Burrows House we knew it was the right choice and believe me we visited many other care homes.. My mother-in-law had consistent love, care and attention throughout the last 10 years. She loved her food and I can confirm that it always smelt and tasted delicious. Her clothes were always clean and the rooms spotless. The chef has been with them 20 years!! She was in later years unable to join in with the activities and parties arranged by the activities manager but she loved to sing along when she did attend.
The Manager at Burrows seems to have the "magic touch" as regards finding such wonderful caring staff and both my husband and myself would have no hesitation in recommending Burrows House.
