My aunt is thriving in Baugh House. She is so much happier and brighter since she went into the care of Baugh House earlier in the year. Baugh House is clean, and the food is of good quality. The care is sensitive and supportive I have seen a huge difference in her. It is comforting to know she is being
well cared for when I live so far away. The management team is approachable, and the care team is helpful in not just in regards to my aunts care but facilitating video calls with my aunt and myself and keeping me regularly updated on her care and any issues. There are a few minor issues with clothing, laundry and one to one time for my aunt but overall, I am pleased with the care my Aunt receives. Thank you to all the team at Baugh House. You do an amazing job, and it is greatly appreciated.

Charlton Park Care Home

from Rebecca O (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 18 November 2025
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
The first time I came to visit the unit, all the staff were very warm-hearted. I have noticed that this is just the way they are, no pretence attitude. The kitchen staff go out of their way to prepare meals, and even when my grandad could not swallow properly, they made sure they changed his food to
a different level so he could eat the food. The nurses were very prompt in the care, and I found it very overwhelming to see the love shown. The assistance was very good from the beginning to the end, and going through a rough time in knowing my grandad was in his last stages of life, I knew he was in a safe place. Thank you very much, team.

The staff, nurses, and helpers are all very kind. There is a friendly atmosphere within the confines of a secure building. The food could be better - fresher and better quality.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother has terminal brain cancer, and moving her from the hospital to a care home was the only way to ensure her comfort and dignity.
We have now been at the St. David's Care Home for just over a month, and I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the management and all the staff for their kindness,
care, and constant support.
As my mother's condition worsens, the team always responds with patience, compassion, and professionalism.
They adapt to her changing needs, make sure she receives all her medication and meals on time, and take great care of her hygiene and comfort.
I truly appreciate the warm attitude, attention to detail, and genuine concern shown every day.
It gives me peace of mind to know my mother is in safe and caring hands.
Thank you all so much for everything.

The staff are wonderful, caring and very efficient in a friendly way. I have a couple of issues:

the clothes seem either go missing or destroyed through aggressive washing. Apparently this happens in all care homes! There never is any explanation or reason given!

Since Gold Care has taken

over the home looks like barracks! They removed all the wall coverings/decals/anything which made it like home!

If I was looking for a home now I would not choose It because it looks very institutional, hospitals look much better! Not very dementia friendly!

I rated "poor" because of the above issues not because of the staff or care but because lack of internal features.

Everybody was very kind and compassionate. They looked after our dad really well and made his last months very comfortable and happy. They also made our family feel so welcome. Thank you to all the staff. They all work so hard.

We found the care home very good, staff very caring and supportive, from the management to staff on the floor.

Staff work very hard to care for the residents. Staff are always friendly and take the time to speak to family members.
My aunt is happy and well cared for.

My mum has just finished a 4 week placement here at Marlborough Court after a hip fracture. From the moment mum arrived every member of the team has been so incredibly kind, compassionate and caring towards mum, she has been so well cared for by everyone.
We are ever so grateful to everyone here at
Marlborough Court. As we leave a zumba class is gong, what a great team.
