Alan Morkill House, has an impeccable reputation when it comes to delivering exceptional care.

The home provides residential care for older people and those who have dementia. The rooms are arranged into seven groups with a shared sitting room and kitchen for each group which encourages residents to get to know each other.

Residents are encouraged to make their fully furnished rooms as comfortable as possible with their own belongings. The supportive staff team are available 24 hours a day to help with any requests from the residents, and clients are able to choose a local GP. An optician, dentist and chiropodist also visit the home.

The area is home to world Famous Notting Hill, Portobello Market, and the annual event of Notting Hill Carnival, a lovely celebration for the residents to have on their doorstep.

My brother was admitted to Alan Morkill House in April 2025. I have seen my brother settle in due to the excellent care from the staff. The room has been made comfortable to suit his needs. The manager is very kind and deals with any issues. I feel more at ease now I know he is in safe hands.

Very nice care home. My mother has been cared for very well. Clean environment and lovely staff. Mum had an ulcer on her leg and it was looked at and cared for.

I am very happy with the care my brother receives.
He is always clean and well cared for and has a good relationship with the staff.
I have no concerns with regard to his well being at this home.

My mother-in-law, age 97, has been at Alan Morkill for six months now. After years of increasing upset living alone in her own home with advancing dementia, she is now finally settled, calm and safe. This we attribute to the dedication of her carers, her lovely room and opportunities to take part in
activities and socialise. Everyone we have spoken to is friendly and helpful, we are kept constantly in the loop regarding medical issues or items that she requires, such as clothing or books. The Manager has been incredibly supportive, understanding and sensitive to the family dynamics. It has been greatly reassuring for us to feel that she is being cared for by such kind people.

Following the death of my father, I wanted to move my mother to London to be closer to me. The manager @ Alan Morkill could not have been kinder or more compassionate to us at this very difficult time. He was also extremely accommodating regarding logistics & the move: I was moving my mother, who suffers
from Alzheimers, into a new home, & city, hours from the home she'd shared with my father to live alone after nearly 70 years of marriage. She was made to feel welcome, permission had been given for a friend to unpack & set up her room (in advance of her arrival) so that the space felt familiar when my mother arrived.
The admin mgr was also extremely supportive and the carers kind & patient.
I have experience of both parents living in care & then nursing homes & Alan Morkill felt like a happy home in a way that none of the others have.

The person I was seeing, an ex Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Councillor. seemed happy and content in her room. She made no negative comments to me and my friend visiting. Overall there seemed to be a pleasant atmosphere at the home and we were given a warm welcome. It was an uplifting visit.
We plan to go see the lady again in the Spring.

I have no other issues with my visits except the wait time to enter the home could be more efficient. Having to wait around outside for 10 minutes while calling the home because no one is available to open the door is unacceptable. If visitors have only limited time we do not want to waste any of it
waiting outside.

My experience is not good regarding my Sister. Left sitting in a draft window opened on her back she caught a cold.
No treatment, no nurse with knowledge of the patient's needs. I had to actually take her to the bathroom in the end. She many times was often left incontinent, that was not told to her
relatives.
She caught Covid the signs were with her on 29th of November about 4 days before she was admitted to hospital. I saw my sister was unwell on the 29th of November the lady took her blood pressure i saw her with the sphygmomanometer and asked what was the readings she took. It was 120/70 and 72 pulse I requested the manager to get her seen, for her to be seen by the doctor. I telephoned 1st of December for any information I could get and was told by an agency staff member, she informed me she was an agency staff and did not have the report on my sister to give me, but I could call back. The next communication was when she was found unresponsive and very sick.

We moved my 93-year-old mum, who has dementia, from another home as it was closer to our home. The management and staff were very welcoming and accommodating before and after the move. The facilities, food and care are excellent. We feel it is a safe and caring environment for my mum. My mum has settled

Overall good. The best thing is the manager, professional, caring, knowledgeable, and flexible. Staff is very friendly, and a positive attitude starts with the manager running through the whole care home. I was struck with the cleanliness, there is a constant effort at keeping the home clean in both
the public and private areas. The environment is very positive, near a park, well served by public transit, generous parking, and a short walk from a great restaurant. I was surprised no one knew about it. The care home meals seem generous and well-prepared. Somewhat concerning was attention to dress. I found my wife walking in a public area without any shoes or slippers on even though she was accompanied with a care worker. Happily, I only needed to complain once. She also went a few days without a change of clothes, although she may have changed into pyjamas at bedtime. Very impressed with safety with entrance and exit codes, and two codes for the elevator. Congratulations.

Good staff. Lovely bedroom, shower and toilet room. Room in good decorative order. Bed and chair are comfortable. Room near to the general area where patients eat.
Requires activities in the afternoon once or twice a week to encourage movement and keep the brain active. The staff are friendly and treat
patients with respect.
The place is left clean and the patients are secure. The garden needs some work to it. Garden table and chairs next to the patient's windows which spoils the view.
