My husband came to Marlborough Care Home in November. He was very frail and had complex issues with his health. He was greeted with kindness and compassion by all the staff. Also they were wonderful to myself which helped me a lot at the time of great sadness. He was a man of great courage, very funny.
He lit up a room when he entered it. R.I.P my love x

My son moved to St Marys on the 12th July 2024, at first I visited everyday. I have reduced this to 4 days per week.
This reduction is due to his settle in so well, and being so happy. The biggest problem to us both is my hearing problems and his speech difficulties. His has got worse. I enjoy every
visit and see sadness, happiness and love each time thank you. I apologise for my writing.

My aunt has resided at Drayton Village for a few days only, but I felt compelled to write something about the warm heartfelt welcome she has received. her nurse and the staff have been empathetic to her needs and enabled the transition to be a lovely, positive experience for my aunt and us, as her
family. They have taken the time to listen to us and are actively getting to know my aunt as a person. My mother in particular was anxious about her sisters care but she is happy knowing that she is in caring hands. I can't thank the manager and his staff enough.

Reply from Matthew, Home Manager at Drayton Village Care Centre

My nan was admitted to the care home yesterday and she had such a warm welcome. she was greeted with a much needed cup of tea and cake The staff all introduced themselves and made us feel welcome during a time which was of course quite stressful for a lady with dementia. Day 1 and I can already see
a positive change in my nan.

Mum was there for 8 months following a diagnosis of dementia. She had been bed ridden at home for 2.5 years before this, with carer visits 4 times daily. At the home she received 24 hour care from carers and nurses. This made her calmer and happier for the last few months of her life, which her family
really loved. The home really understood her culinary needs and catered really well as she also had throat cancer and could only eat mashed up food. Staff were always friendly and helpful with any enquiries or problems we had.

My mum sadly passed away (suffering from Alzheimers/dementia) in March after just over 5 years in the care home. I always found the care staff extremely caring and lovely and I think they genuinely loved my mum which was of great comfort to me. My mum was initially very frail going in to the home
due to her illness but soon gained weight and appeared more calm and content. This was all during a very tricky time with covid. Thank you

Review of

St Mary's Court Care Home

from Jeff M (Brother of Resident) published on 22 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I am the brother of a resident, and have visited him at St Mary's since he was first taken in as a resident.
I want to say that I am very grateful that he was one of your patients, as I found St Mary's the perfect place for him to be, bearing in mind his age and infirmity.
Your staff are to be commended
for their caring and sympathetic attitude to those in their care. They all seem to go about their duties cheerfully, with patience which reflects very well on your selection and training for what is an unenviable task.
The home itself has always been clean and welcoming. The receptionist is a great asset to your staff, as she is the front line, as it were and the first person to greet you as you enter the building. Her welcoming smile sets the scene for the rest of the visits, and I cannot speak more highly of her, than to tell you, that her welcome is always bright and cheerful.
The office staff, one in particular, have always shown concern and professionalism in their dealings with concerned relatives. They have all been excellent in their care and compassion.
St Mary's is always clean, and this includes all the patients rooms, even their toilet facilities. This does your company great credit.
Suffice it to say, that should the time come, when I need such attention. St Mary's is the place I would choose.
Thank you very much indeed for looking after my brother so well. We will miss all of you now he has passed.

The New Deanery

from L G (Daughter of Resident) published on 22 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

Mum settled into The New Deanery really quickly; she liked the caring staff and understood that they were there for her, day and night.
She was made to feel very welcome and was keen to tell me how friendly they all were. During the first week, Mum was seen by the district nurse (regarding underlying
health conditions); the chiropodist & had her first bath in over 5 years and visited the hairdresser!
Mum was gently encouraged to partake in some of the daily activity sessions, and this is where we find her most mornings, when we visit. She no longer says she is 'bored' or 'fed up'! I feel she is safe and well looked after.
