St. Stephens:
* provide our parent with the independence that they can handle and the support that they need.
* update us in a timely manner about any concerns / observations.
* provide engaging entertainment and activities.

* staff are friendly and informative, and available to answer questions / provide extra support if needed.

We appreciate the above which has resulted in the appetite of our parent improving, and can see that they enjoy their meals, as well as the provision of coffee / tea / juice / water, cakes / biscuits / fruit in between meals.

Thank you St. Stephens

All the care team are so friendly and always welcoming whenever I visit my Mum. I have got to know a few of them so we always have a chat.

My Mum is really settled and comfortable with the staff and residents. I am happy that there are more activities for her to join in with if she wants to. I hope that on warmer days there are more opportunities for her to be outside and enjoy activities in the fresh air.

We had a difficult situation, my mother has a stroke and was the main carers for my father who has dementia. Dad was placed into emergency respite at St Stephens care home which lasted for 6 weeks. Having dad in a care home was a new experience but the staff especially Andy were amazing, reassuring, caring and considerate. Dad has a package of care tailored for him. He has his daily paper and and a glass of wine with his supper.

We would just like to say a big thank you for the thoughtfulness and kindness of the staff at St Stephen's care home.
We had a planned hospital appointment today and everything happened like clockwork, early breakfast, packed lunch (just in case) and on our return a choice of meal still offered.

The lasagne that was chosen, made in house, was delicious we hear!

My darling husband had to go into a care home in September 2023 as I could no longer cope alone with his Alzheimer's. As he was funded we had no choice of home and at first I was worried as St Stephens was not like the 'posh' homes I had seen. Tbh it was also a bit chaotic without a full time manager. BUT once Netty took control at the end of 2023 and gathered her fantastic team around her the place changed beyond recognition. Permanent staff were brought in and properly trained which reduced the pressure on the staff who stayed; the chaos of high turnover ended. The home was decorated and had new furniture and is now very pleasant. An enthusiastic social events team organise an amazing array of entertainments, crafts, visits from animals etc . The food has always been amazing (and plentiful!). Netty takes on board comments made by residents and families.

This home had become my husband's (& my) family until he passed away recently with the calm and compassionate support of all.

My husband was diagnosed with dementia in January, his health rapidly declined, I spent months trying to care for him day and night until he was sectioned in May. Never having experienced dementia before it came as a dreadful shock. But from the time he was admitted to St Stephen's in July, the care he's received has been phenomenal, not only that but the support for me and my family has been amazing. I visit every day and it's wonderful to see the way all the staff care for all the residents, showing compassion and respect for every single person. The food they receive is made from fresh produce and plenty of it. There is a lovely garden, various activities arranged through the week, access to a Dr if necessary, regular visits from a podiatrist and a hairdresser. It's been such a comfort to me and my family to know how well he is being looked after. I can't thank them all enough for all their hard work and smiling faces.

Excellent service and care for my mum, she's been here for nearly 11 years and her health is really good for her age, mobility is not so good but when she's nearly 93 I don't expect too much, still has sense of humour and that has a lot to do with the staff. Thank you for caring for her..

My Mum has spent nearly the last 2 years at St Stephens. It took her a little time to settle in, as she really wanted to be back at her home in her favourite arm chair. However, staff at St Stephens have worked wonders with her, and now Mum is really settled there.
It's great knowing that Mum is safe, and looked after extremely well. Her diet is so much better now. She does lots more activities than ever now. They have occasions when they have visits from singers, birds of prey, and lots of other various activities.
The staff are friendly towards myself, and I'm yet to have any problems in all the time I've been visiting.

Keep up the good work!

My mother has been in the care of St Stephens for nearly six months now and I couldn't be happier with the way she has settled in. She loves all the staff members and constantly tells me how nice everyone is to her.

There seems to be a different activity going on every time I visit and when I've been at meal times the food always looks really good. It is a real weight of my mind to know mum is happy and being well looked after.

Mum was 94 yesterday and had the best day. The staff made such a fuss of her. In the afternoon the band played and again she was the centre of attention. The kitchen baked a lovely cake and everyone sang Happy Birthday. It is a long time since I have seen her so animated. Thank you all.
