On Thursday 21st May 2026. I was taken ill whilst visiting my friend, a resident in St Kathrine's house. I passed out, when I came round, I then was violently vomiting. The Nurse on duty took my blood pressure, pulse, tempeture & oxygen levels, while the carers held my hand, put a wet towel around my neck, cleaned me up, gave me clean clothes to put on & washed out my soiled clothes and waited with me until the ambulance came to take me to hospital I honestly can't praise the staff enough for the care they gave me, I have since learnt I had a TIA, mini stroke that day!!

All the staff were excellent, caring and nothing was ever too much for them. They were friendly to relatives and always helpful if anything was asked for. My husband's stay although a short one was what I had hoped it would be, safe, caring and with people who genuinely cared for him, and his welfare.

Due to quite severe brain damage my brother has needed comprehensive care. The staff at St Katherines have been nothing short of superb. A high level of empathy, care and professionalism. He could not be in better hands.

St Katherines Care Home has a wonderful setting and the beautiful grounds with the trees and attractive lawns are a real selling point. The rooms and attached bathrooms are spacious and the standard of cleanliness is excellent. The care staff are friendly, helpful and well trained and show real interest in the needs of patients/residents in the nursing wing with the regard for their dignity and their welfare (both mental and physical) the food is wholesome, and alternative options are available on request. The overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a nurse always available in each wing.

The care my husband is recieving is good. I am happy with the excellent attitude and help given by all staff. The food is good and his room is clean and comfortable.

I am less happy with laundry as items are often not ironed or put away properly.

Lovely visit today. The Home is very clean throughout and the Residents appear to be well looked after and happy. The care staff were very welcoming and hospitable with hot drinks on offer as well as cold drinks. The rooms I saw were laid out in a more homely fashion.

I visit my wife every day and have seen professionalism from every member of staff, cleaners, maintenance and carers. Administration staff are always available to help should anything needs to be attended to. Because I visit every day I see that it is consistent and the care provided is the best. Residents are well cared for, clean & tidy and happy. Catering staff also do a wonderful job and meals are plentiful and nutritious. The entertainment staff arrange a vast array of activities and social events.

From the day my dad came to St Katherine's, Staff have been amazing, they care for my mum during this time which is hard on dad and the family. They do a great job caring for all the residents from what I have observed focused on dignity, respect and love. I would recommend without hesitation.

You cannot go out whenever you want which is what I need to be happy. The laundry leave a lot to be desired, clothes take up to a week to be delivered. Visitors are very few and the carers are always busy which means they don't have to for everything.

Reply from Seema Thomas, Home Manager at St Katharine's House

I am so sorry to read these comments as the team works very hard to make sure that every resident receives the care and support they need to be happy. I am a little surprised by the laundry comments as this is done daily. I will speak with you directly so that we can look to resolve any issues you feel you may be experiencing. Best wishes, Seema

My mum sadly passed away (suffering from Alzheimers/dementia) in March after just over 5 years in the care home. I always found the care staff extremely caring and lovely and I think they genuinely loved my mum which was of great comfort to me. My mum was initially very frail going in to the home due to her illness but soon gained weight and appeared more calm and content. This was all during a very tricky time with covid. Thank you

I have been greatly impressed with the members of the staff, all of whom seem extremely efficient and also very pleasant to deal with. The care home is a beautiful place where all the patients appear to be very happy. In a couple of years, I will be ninety and would be well content to live somewhere like this if my health starts to deteriorate.
