Mum came to this home 3 months ago during the week of Lockdown. Her health was not good and she had dementia and was not the easiest resident to care for. She passed away this week. During her short stay there in extreme circumstances, I was able to speak to her on the phone and have Skype calls. She seemed very content and said it was a lovely place, she also said the food was really good. The nurses and staff kept me well informed and were always polite and kind. I can only thank them for the care and attention they gave my mother.
Sending kind thoughts and our condolences to you and your family. Stay safe.
Mum came in for respite just over a week ago. Has settled very well and is certainly enjoying the company of others and, by her account, the food which is both plentiful and of good quality. Plenty of activities to keep her occupied and entertained.
Hi Kevin, it's always lovely to hear that we have happy residents and family members. We are so glad that your mum has settled in well and enjoying the meals. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a positive review; I will share this with the team.
We hope you stay safe and well.
Kind regards,
I would like to thank the staff at St Katharine's for their support and kindness during a difficult time. My father was in the hospital, and due to circumstances beyond our control, we were unable to assist him. The customer relations manager and her team were very helpful and practical. They arranged Dad's transfer to the home while providing us with reassurance and up to date information. Dad has settled into the home well, and we can only praise St Katharine's staff for their dedication and help.
Thank you again, take care and stay safe.
Her carers are friendly and efficient.
Hello and thank you for your very kind feedback - it is much appreciated!
Your team are very caring. Mum's needs seem to be getting larger as she is no longer mobile. The food provided always looks very good. Mum has had a few falls and urine infections but they are dealt with as soon as possible. I am very happy with her being at St Katherine's House.
Thank you for your incredible feedback regarding food, our team and our response to incidents/injuries, it's valuable feedback - we appreciate your kind remarks.
We got in touch with St Katherine's for respite care for Mum when she was extremely unwell with dehydration. They were extremely compassionate and helpful to us when we were in a situation that we were finding difficult to deal with. Every one of the staff has been so kind and caring toward Mum and ourselves. We could not fault the care she is receiving and she is very happy there.
That's wonderful to hear, thank you for your kind feedback. We're delighted that you can't fault the care, and that your mother is enjoying her time with us - Many thanks!
I honestly cannot thank all the staff enough. We were so worried about Mum going into a care home but they have not only cared for her, she has a new lease of life. She’s smiling again, she genuinely loves being there. On top of that, she has her dog with her too. They have made it feel like a family. There is not one negative thing I can say. Thank you so much.
That's incredible, thank you for your feedback, we're glad she's enjoying her time with us. We all know how valuable it is to have a pet with you whilst being in care - we're happy we could help - Best regards.
Great care is given to my grandad. Such a variety of activities that my grandad really enjoys, for example, day trips to Millets, Sea Side etc. All the staff are lovely and friendly always happy to help.
Hello and thank you for your very kind review. We're pleased to hear that your grandad is enjoying his time with us, much appreciated.
Best care home ever.
Fantastic to hear! We're really pleased with your response to our care home!
They are extremely good and helpful. I recommend them to anyone.
Thank you very much for your extremely kind review.
All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Very relaxed and cosy atmosphere. Seems a very caring place.
Absolutely lovely. We're glad your experience at St Katharine's is a positive one.
I find St Katherine's excellent in all respects. The care my wife receives from everyone at the home is first class. The help I receive is marvellous and my daughter is very pleased.
That's really great to hear. Thank you very much for your kind words.
When visiting a very close friend with dementia, it is so comforting to meet such caring staff who always know who our friend is. Very cosy, friendly atmosphere and always a member of staff to call on. Only criticism would be the size of the room compared to other (more modern) care homes.
Hello and thank you for your review. Thank you for your kind words. Best regards.
My stay here is great, I enjoy the staff, great help, can't do enough for me, good cakes, fresh with tea in the afternoon.
Thank you for your kind review, we're glad that you are enjoying your time with us. Best Wishes.
The laundry needs improving, the midday meal is ok but supper leaves a lot to be desired.
Thank you for your kind review. We're happy that our staff have assisted you well. With resident and relative meetings, we're hoping to get more ideas concerning food choices.
Our aunt was very happy being at St Katharine's House she liked the attention she received.
Wonderful, thank you for your very kind comment, we appreciate your feedback.
Myself and my family were made to feel welcome immediately - nothing was too much trouble. A big step made easy. The food and quality is excellent. So far very good!
Thank you very much for your feedback. If there is are any improvements we could consider, please feel free to let us know. Best.
When I visited him I was shocked. The state of the building and the patients was my worst nightmare for a care home. There were patients screaming, others were wandering around drooling.
The staff did not seem to be interested in caring for my father. When we went to collect him to go to another home, he was shuffling down the corridor wearing two pairs of trousers - at least one of which he did not own. I managed to take one pair off him but he was not wearing any underwear (despite being incontinent).
The staff had packed up the things from his room but we later found that items were missing which they could not locate. We were given empty medication boxes with no sign of the actual drugs.
Luckily we were able to move my father to a much better home nearer to my mother - at very little extra cost.
Thank you for leaving your concerns. We are currently investigating this further and we will schedule management to contact directly regarding this matter.
My Dad is receiving first-rate care, the carers are very patient and conscientious. We, that is my Mum and me, have no complaints about the care my Dad receives.
Wonderful review, thank you very much for your kind comment, best regards.
Review arranged with my choice of appointment (day and time). Reviewer greeted my wife and me early, and we received refreshments. Done in a quiet, private room and purpose explained. The reviewer gave consideration and respect to us and my mother who is a resident at the home. Allowed to put our views and opinions openly. Took about 40 minutes, fully satisfied with the review.
Thank you for your review!
