I am pleased with my mother's care here and I recognise the effort that has been made.
Thank you for your kind feedback.
Mum residing in St Katharine's House nursing unit. The staff are very kind to her and they do things to help her and nothing is too much trouble and some even go the extra mile to please mum. Mum is not a lazy person to be pleased but somehow some of the staff can make mum happy and shows some twinkle in her eyes, love the lavender scent that they provide for mum.
Hi Jannette,
Thank you for your kind review.
Regards.
Dalbir.
In addition, the meals have improved with the chefs providing meals to cater for individual needs.
There is a good range of ages within the staff and they do complement each other, however, there is a shortage of full-time staff mainly at weekends the agency staff, on the whole, are of poor quality!
There is a good range or organised activities with the ream well organised and happy.
Hi Graham
Thank you for your kind review. The change in management was essential to improve the home. We are currently undertaking a major recruitment drive to ensure agency staff are kept to a minimum. You should see a significant difference within the next 6 weeks.
Regards.
I find that the care my partner is receiving is good care and she is better than she has been for a long time. Okay.
Dear Andrew,
Thank you for your kind review.
Regards.
A very caring homely place, happy with staff relations.
Thank you for your kind review- regards.
In a short time of living here, very acceptable and helpful in every way.
Dear Tony,
Thank you for your kind review.
Best,
Dalbir.
A golly good place to come to. Staff are very kind and helpful. If you need a doctor they will see who are you are signed up for. With your relatives' knowledge, they will see you are signed up with a local doctor.
Initially, in a smaller room, the manager moved him to a larger room as it became available, providing him with a TV, sofa and comfortable armchair.
The staff do their best to involve Dad in activities, especially gardening which was always his favourite hobby - with five acres of grounds there is plenty of space for him to walk too.
The staff are so friendly and there seems very little turnover.
Hi Jane,
Thank you for your review. Feel free to contact me directly if there are any other activities your Father would like to take part in.

All staff very helpful and friendly. Helped our relative to settle in and sorted any queries quickly. Very happy and friendly environment. Everywhere well looked after, inside and out. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
My mother felt she had been on holiday and had a wonderful experience in the 10 weeks she was there. Should she need it, we would definitely look to return there. Personally, I had complete peace of mind that my mother was in a safe environment that understood her needs.
My mother has settled in very well and is quite happy. Enjoys the food and company. We visit regularly, and we are always happy with what we see.
The review was carried quite professionally items from the earlier review has been discussed and were generally completed. Some refurbishment of rooms were still being carried out and it was intended to change carpet sin some communal areas.
My mother is cared for with dignity and care at all times.
This was our first visit as we live in the Lake District. My sister and her husband visit regularly. We were very impressed with the friendliness of staff and the activities on offer. We took our aunty into the garden and she particularly enjoyed seeing the variety of trees and flowers. She is in a small room and from what we saw the care home there is a need for improving some of the decoration in the rooms. We found the meeting with relatives in the evening useful and the idea of using a donation for a sensory garden a good one.
Dad moved in quite quickly due to an emergency situation. from the start the manager and her staff have been helpful and kind to dad. He has been assessed and discussions have improved his medication. St Katherine's is old fashioned but has the feel of a B&B which is comfortable for dad. We are always made welcome and the staff are always available if we need to speak to someone.
Seem very friendly to my mother who is now very unwell.
We did complain about cleanliness of her room - but this has been remedied.
High staff turnover but I expect this is unavoidable in this sector.
