View Full Details of St Jude's Nursing HomeI received a request to send a review 1 month after the death of my dear brother, who lived in St Jude's Nursing Home in Sutton for 18months before his death in July. I visited twice a week, during this time, the carers and nurses were very kind, and he appeared to be well looked after. However, I am saddened to say that apart from a corporate sympathy card, I have had no acknowledgement of my bereavement, no phone call, no message of sympathy, and worse still, not one member of St Jude's staff attended his funeral, which has left me saddened and feeling very upset. No one bothered to contact me.
Lovely, friendly, professional staff, made mum feel at home right up to her final days. Mum felt comfortable and happy during her time there.
The home is very clean and pleasant, with plenty of rooms to occupy. The food is very good and plentiful. The health care assistants are very kind and supportive. The nurses are approachable and helpful. The activities coordinators are imaginative and supportive. The managers are very kind and helpful. Overall would thoroughly recommend.
Having look at 10 care homes in the area one Sunday, I was pleased St Jude's had a vacancy for my 86 year old husband. St Jude's is not like a 5 star hotel, it is more homely and the staff know how to treat their clients with kindness. My husband, who had dementia, was difficult at the beginning of his stay, but all the carers were so unbelievably patient. My husband died on 14th November. If I need a care home, St Jude's would be the first and only one I would choose.
Overall, the family and friends of my brother were very pleased with virtually all aspects of his care at St Jude's. He could be awkward and demanding at times but despite this, with a small number of exceptions, nearly all of the staff were friendly and courteous to him at all times. It was occasionally a bit noisy, with banging doors, etc. The management and nursing staff were very helpful, although there were occasional difficulties of communication due to staff not being native English speakers.
Staff very caring, Mum feels lonely though. Given it's £8,000 per month before discount, I wonder how much staff get paid. We often get bills for shower gel and shampoo and think a, is it being used? b, why not just include it in the costs.
I've always found the staff polite, kind and friendly and a nice atmosphere. The manager is a really lovely lady. If ever I was needing care I would like to go in a nice nursing home like this.
Staff are helpful and friendly. Admin and management are prompt to respond when requested. Food and drink always looks tasty and available. Communication is also prompt and helpful.
The staff are friendly and welcoming. My aunt feels safe and the care team understand her needs and wishes. The home is busy and active.
My mother-in-law sadly has severe dementia, but it is comforting to know that she is well looked after by very kind and compassionate carers. The summer garden party is superb! Well done, everyone.
A friendly, welcoming nursing home where we all feel extremely comfortable. All staff go above and beyond when caring for my father. They have got to know him so well, even though he has Dementia and Parkinson's. All his needs are met with care and kindness. We are very pleased we found this home due to its spacious, homely feel and calming atmosphere.
Mum was moved directly from the hospital to the nursing home following a heart attack. Previously in a care home that could not supply nursing. She is a lot happier and appears more comfortable and alert here. She loves her room and engages well with the staff.
A very clean home, very well run with lovely carers, nursing staff and manager.
Speaking from bad experience elsewhere, this home is one of the few with good management, friendly staff and a happy atmosphere. Strongly recommended.
A friendly, clean and well-run home. The carers are kind and professional.
Very well-run nursing home with excellent staff that genuinely care for all the residents. Would highly recommend it.
My mum is always clean and well-fed. The daily activities help to keep her mind active.
St Jude's is an excellent nursing home, clean and well-kept with extremely professional and caring staff. I would not have a hesitation at recommending them.
We had a number of options but chose St Jude's and it turned out to be a good choice. The room was a good size, equipped with all that was needed but what made St Jude's special was the staff, who were always on hand when needed and made Mum's stay comfortable.
The overall standard of the care home including the room is very good. Rooms, bedding and furniture are clean and fairly well maintained. The home is secure and I feel that my dad is kept safe in relation to his condition and abilities. The staff are warm and welcoming and attentive. They are always readily available to contact by phone and email and keep us updated/informed of Dad's health. The food and facilities are of a good standard and Christmas dinner/party was laid on for residents.
