View Full Details of Milverton Nursing HomeWhilst looking for a Nursing Home we visited Milverton without an appointment and were welcomed in - this was our first good experience and says a lot! It's early days but Dad is settling in well. He enjoys the activities, the beautiful garden and the food! The continuity of care is very good with the same staff members who display reassuring and respectful care. Everyone is very friendly and visiting is encouraged. As a family we have been supported, kept up to date and involved with Dad's care. They are helping us with our new family dynamic.
Have nothing but praise for the care and kindness given. Also the home is beautifully kept. Delightful garden. The food is lovely
My Dad spent his final few weeks at Milverton. During that time he was extremely well cared for by staff who were attentive, warm and caring. As a regular visitor I was always made to feel welcome and was given detailed updates on Dad's progress. The food is homemade and I thought it was delicious - I've now seen quite a few care homes and Milverton really stands out for its catering. The building is bright and airy, with a lovely garden, with a spacious garden room.
My wife has been a resident for nearly two years to date. In all that time, I have been impressed by the constant care shown to her and to the friendly attitude shown to myself. I certainly made the right choice when I selected Milverton. The bonus is that it is only two miles from home! Tea or coffee as soon as you enter.
I have been visiting a friend in this care home for a few years now. I am amazed at how bright and clean it is. The staff are very kind to the residents and the visitors. It has a very happy feel due to the caring staff. I visit quite a few homes as I have friends in them but Milverton is the best.
Milverton continues to tick all the boxes. The never-ending warm welcome as a visitor and cheerful contact with all residents. My husband is now becoming very withdrawn and needs 24 care which is given immediately.
The nursing and caring staff are all courteous and welcoming. Food portions and quality are satisfactory but indistinguishable from one meal to another I am told. Fruit is hard to come by. Regular exercise should be encouraged but staff say they do not always have time. I have observed idle staff on their phones on some of my visits. Exercise should include outdoor exposure on dry and mild days but residents can be forced to remain indoors despite residents requesting fresh air. Some residents are unable to watch TV due to their seating arrangements.
The staff at Milverton are very professional and welcoming. They provide excellent care to my friend and are proactive in attending to her needs.
We (my daughter and I) are very happy with my husband's care in Milverton Nursing Home.
On each visit, I have found the staff to be most welcome and cheerful! The surroundings are extremely pleasant and well-maintained.
My mother has been at Milverton for almost three years. She has always been looked after with the greatest respect and dignity. The staff turnover is incredibly low, which is a testament to a happy working environment. We are delighted we found this nursing home.
Thank you for the excellent care you give to my father. We had not chosen the home, he was sent from the hospital and we are so grateful he was sent to Milverton. All the nurses, carers and all staff do an amazing job. Thank you.
My father died last week after spending 16 months in Milverton. We had not chosen the home; he was sent there from hospital on a Discharge to Assess basis and we agreed that he should stay on. However, we look back on his time in Milverton as a real provision for his needs at this stage of his life. He was 94. During the time that he was there, we were impressed with every aspect of the home. The carers were consistently kind and thoughtful in their interactions with the residents. The nursing staff were compassionate and always on the ball. The food needs of my father, who had an impaired swallow were well provided for. The facilities are good. The garden is lovely. The events officer did a superb job, not only in providing general activities for the whole home but also individually, eg finding books that were suitable for my father. We noticed that the Milverton slogan is ‘Care with Dignity’. This is a home which practices what it preaches. We would wholeheartedly recommend it.
The staff do a good job under difficult conditions owing to the nature of the work. Some are excellent, others are good. It would be helpful if staff could take time to say a few chats to the residents on top of the times when they communicate for a specific purpose.
Friendly staff, know they're cared for. Good cover of nursing care. Good food provided. Daily outings invaluable. Fantastic entertainment arranged. Could do with better showering facilities.
