View Full Details of The Sidcup Care HomeMy husband spent 5 weeks in Sidcup Care Home. He went there for palliative care after suffering from a brain tumour. I cannot speak highly enough of the care he was given during those 5 weeks. Every need was taken care of and although I visited at different times each day, I never found him unkempt in anyway. They were very attentive as he grew weaker and I have nothing but praise to all concerned.
Although my mother was only a resident for 6 weeks before she died, and was funded for palliative care. The attentiveness, care and professionalism of all staff was excellent.
Overall a good experience as my mum enjoyed her respite. Her room was clean + spacious with en-suite shower. Activities were daily and fairly well attended. Mum really enjoyed her meals that were served in the restaurant. They were varied with plenty of choice. I was disappointed on the level of nursing care on her legs, as limited care appeared to be given and on departure I took mum to A&E and she is still in hospital. (at least 10 days) and counting. Feedback to Care Home has been given. The staff were very friendly and appeared to enjoy their jobs at Sidcup Care Home.
Recommend this care home completely. The care and dignity shown to my loved one was excellent. Not to mention how, as a family, we were treated just as well.
The Sidcup provides a calm and welcoming environment and each day is relaxing and well-structured. There is a range of activities every day (encouraging both physical and cognitive development of residents). Those residents who are less able to move around outside their rooms have regular visits from staff who invariably demonstrate empathy, kindness and positivity. Overall the staff represent the Care Home's main asset, many of them worth their weight in precious minerals.
My mum has been here for about 16 months and has really blossomed since being here. Always happy and dressed well and matching. Staff are friendly and welcoming.
Mum was admitted in March 2025. Because of health issues, she does not deal with a change of environment, but the team have been great with assisting her and making sure she is settled and comfortable. She is slowly growing in confidence and joining in the daily activities thanks to their commitment.
Amazing staff, couldn't ask for better care, a big thank you at Sidcup Care Home
The staff were very attentive and very reliable. If you needed questions answered they were prompt and very considerate to you. The whole experience has been really good and I'd give them 5 gold stars out of 5. So thank you for everything you have done.
My wife has been residing here on assessment for 6 weeks. As she is immobile she requires a great deal of attention. I cannot speak highly enough of the nursing care and help from all the assistants and carers. Nothing is too much trouble. Everyone is so cheerful and helpful and we are so grateful.
Couldn't be happier with the care and attention given to my mother. All the nurses and carers are very good with her. Also the afternoon activities are excellent for helping her to meet with other residents.
Our first contact with Sidcup Care Home was a leaflet put through the door. Following my enquiry about respite care I was invited to visit. I came away impressed with the facilities, professionalism of the staff and all the information I needed. The only time we had any anxiety was waiting to see if there was a place when we needed full time care this was made easy by the administrative staff. Throughout her stay we could not fault the care given by nurses, carers, domestic and catering staff. At the end of her life the love and care given was just as we would have wished and the support given to us was appreciated. The last few weeks of her life were spent in a home from home. Supported and care for by very caring and professional staff.
Mum is very happy in the home. Always clean and tidy. Well fed, good choice of meals. Staff happy and very helpful. Mum is a new person. Thank you.
On the 15th of March, I hosted a family gathering here, which was unforgettable for both my guests and myself. The plan was for a buffet lunch and this proved to be superb. The lounge was suitably decorated by housekeeping staff and attracted many favourable comments from guests. This all contributed to a very memorable occasion and guests seeking diary dates for the next one!! All of this was overseen by the activities team and to them and the other staff involved, my thanks and those of my guests.
An amazing care home, staff often go above and beyond ensuring Mum is cared for to the highest level. Very happy with everything! Thank you for putting our minds at rest and for caring for Mum!
My father had Parkinsons and was on palliative care in hospital before being moved to Sidcup Nursing Home. He was always kept peaceful and comfortable. Staff came in to check on him and talk to him. Staff called his wife by her first name, and let her know about any concerns before she had to ask; afternoon tea was provided to his many visitors. When he died he was treated with great dignity, and we were helped to contact a doctor and funeral home. It made a difficult time so much more positive.
The staff at 'The Sidcup' Home were all very friendly and helpful - particularly at reception desks. My mother appeared to receive good care and her mobility was much improved after the two week's respite care following her falls. The areas which she felt could be improved were: 1 - She complained of numerous men wandering around the corridors who were not patients and felt very anxious at times because of this. 2 - Not as 'peaceful' as she'd hoped. 3 - Food was plentiful but often not very warm.
My friend only spent a week here but in that time he received such good care and nursing. All the staff I met, clinical, admin and housekeeping were professional and friendly. We were treated with respect and compassion by everyone. It is reassuring when you can leave a loved one and feel they are in safe hands. The home itself is modern and well maintained with a lovely garden and the ambience is very warm and welcoming.
It is good to see Dad so content and enjoying participating in events and activities. He enjoys his food at dinner time and has made good friends in the dining room. The staff have been excellent.
From first point of contact ie reception and management to my fathers care everybody has been so kind and so professional. I was able to go on holiday leaving my Dad in safe hands, all the staff are so happy and caring. The care home is absolutly spotless and my Dads room was super. My dad loved his stay there and its so nice to have that as a respite option. A wonderful experience for my Dad and myself a big thank you to all the team.
