View Full Details of Purley Gardens Care Home - Avery CollectionMy mother-in-law has settled in very well and she is flourishing at Purley Gardens. The care she receives is of a very high standard. I am full of admiration for the dedication, kindness and professionalism of the staff members. They are always cheerful and helpful. 5 stars from me!
My father-in-law needed 24 hour support and I looked at several homes. Purley Gardens felt like the place where he would be most comfortable and so it transpired once the move was completed. The staff were very friendly and caring. My only regret was that I wasn't able to move him there sooner.
The care has been attentive and always kind with present and potential future needs always considered. Communication has been good with any wrinkles ironed out quickly. Staff have been kind and attentive following my relative passing away. I am so pleased he was able to spend his final months in this beautiful place.
I visited my father in law yesterday and at one stage he rang for assistance to help him to the toilet. Someone came after a few minutes and advised him that help was on the way. After twenty five minutes my wife went outside to get help which was shortly given. This is certainly not the first time and I have seen some people wait for up to 40 mins for help to the toilet. Surely this is totally unacceptable. The table and chairs have been removed from a lovely spot in the area where the managers office is where the residents can look out to the flowers etc. This was brought to the attention of two managers and staff and we have fobbed of with various excuses.
We find the care etc very good for which we are very happy.
My wife is unable to walk or help herself, so is of high maintenance, the nursing staff look after her daily caring for all her needs, nothing is off to much trouble for them. We found all staff, whether catering nursing, management etc are all first class. The home is beautifully clean, with nice feel. I would have no hesitation in recommending Purley Gardens to anybody who is need of care either for short or long stay.
My husband was admitted to Purley Gardens initially for four weeks respite care. It was decided that after that stay it would be advisable for him to become a permanent resident as I was unable to give him the care at home that he received in Purley Gardens.
My mother had a short respite stay at Purley Gardens following a period in hospital. The care provided by all the staff at Purley Gardens was excellent and the improvement in my mother's overall health and well being was clear to see. I had peace of mind knowing that my mother was safe and was receiving all the care that she needed. Thank you Purley Gardens.
My aunt was very well looked after in her final years and days by staff who were very caring and kind. I always had peace of mind that she was in safe hands. The staff always kept me updated on everything that was happening.
I feel I have been well cared for and looked after. They have got me from bed bound to walking carefully and regularly social independence.
The home has the 'wow factor', the staff are amazing, my ex-wife has settled in so well and her condition has improved. The family hope that you are pleased too. We wish you all a happy New Year and the home prospers, as it deserves to. Again, a big thank you to all the staff.
Mum's first stay and for respite. All staff very welcoming to both Mum and family, whenever you visited. Communal areas are bright, room just decorated, spotlessly clean. The staff are very caring, nothing is too much trouble. Food very nice but not to Mum's liking, who is very fussy and a traditionalist. Good range of activities, was even taken out in the minibus. Mum would never choose to go to a nursing home but on leaving she said she would be happy to go back when necessary.
Staying 10 years must be self-explanatory.
Mum moved into Purley Gardens from hospital after a spell in a ward, due to her dementia progressed. The staff at Purley Gardens were very welcoming and kind and very patient with Mum. She has settled and has made friends. She enjoys the garden and walking her little dog. Kindness and compassion are the key! Well done everyone at Purley Gardens.
Leaving hospital after major surgery (of 23 days) was very happy with the secure "upmarket" atmosphere of Purley Gardens. At first, I needed the security and privacy of my new room, but as I improved I really enjoyed the spacious dining room with the dedicated service of the staff serving the meals. I was also impressed by how everyone was greeted by name and with a smile. Really refreshing! Very sorry to leave to return to my own home but I know where I would go to relax now!
My wife received a post-operation (22 days in hospital) in Purley Gardens Home. The care and attention she received was excellent and put her back on her feet. She ate well, regained confidence, and was well cared for. The facilities are excellent and equal the staff!
My mother had a lovely respite stay at Purley Gardens, where everyone was welcoming, friendly, helpful and caring. The newly refurbished accommodation was clean, bright and tidy. The food was excellent and with plenty of choice for all meals of the day.
I make weekly visits to my friend, who has resided with you for approximately two years. Whenever I and my husband visit we are impressed by the friendly feel of the place, it is like entering a very nice hotel! Our friend is well cared for and happy, I often feel that I'd like to move in myself! The dining room always looks so attractive and I gather that the food is excellent.
My husband has settled well into Purley Gardens and is very well cared for. The staff are lovely and cope really well when my husband is being very difficult. We recently celebrated his 89th Birthday at Purley Gardens. We had the use of a private lounge and spent happy hours celebrating. The Purley Gardens kitchen baked him a beautiful red velvet cake. Daisy, our dog, is made welcome and many of the residents are pleased to interact with her.
Mum entered the home's care in September 2016. generally speaking, we were very happy with the care and support she received. However, there did seem to be a marked drop off during the repeated ownership/management changeovers. Nothing specific but a marked decrease in continuity was noticed by the family.
