Every member of staff are happy to help in all his needs. My uncle has always been a foodie, the chef certainly fulfills his appetite with a wide range of menu.
The home appears light, bright, with a calm and caring atmosphere. There seemed to be lots of opportunities to partake in arts, crafts and games. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
I was asked by my friend to look for a Nursing Home for her as unable to manage at home. I looked at 4 homes and Austinwood came out top. On my arrival to view the home I had a parking space reserved for me and a very professional welcome by Jackie who escorted me round the home. I was very impressed whith what I saw. All the staff who I passed by on my viewing said good morning. Thr rooms where lovely and the one I thought would suite my friend was beautifully decorated with matching curtains and bed dressings. The Cinema was very impressive with pretty and unusal decorations. Super. I would not hesitate to reccommend Austinwood and the lovely professional staff.
Lovely greetings entering the care home, such pleasant staff. Enjoyed the hot chocolate that was offered. The decor is very light and airy. The whole atmosphere felt warm and cosy.
Clean, tidy, friendly staff, willing to assist. Plenty of daily activities. Home-cooked healthy, good-quality food. Amazing efforts made to celebrate special days. Such as VE Day. Also birthdays are acknowledged.

The carers are genuinely interested in the residents, and every day there are wonderful activities for everyone to take part in. The kindness and care shines through at all levels, supported by an efficient and equally caring management team.

We have been pleased with the quality of care and affection our mum has received at Austenwood. She is settled and peaceful (Alzheimer allowing) which is evident that she feels safe. We've especially appreciated the good quality of relationship which all staff have developed with mum, despite her Alzheimer's, and the respect and esteem they show! Mum particularly enjoyed the food at the beginning when she was still able to eat normally. And we've been grateful for easy, open, communication with staff. Both nursing and admin staff are always responsive to our requests. Our mum is in good hands, which genuinely care.
Following yet another stroke I could no longer look after my lovely father at home. Reluctantly I had to find a care home for him. Thankfully I found Austenwood From the first enquiry Austenwood could not have been more helpful. I felt they focused on providing personalised care for my father taking into account his condition and his needs. The staff were all incredibly kind and at the same time very professional (I say this as a former ward sister). The facilities, standard of food, cleanliness and activities provided were excellent. The family were encouraged to visit often which we did, sometimes three times a day. We were welcomed on every occasion. My father only spent 5 months In Austenwood before he passed away. The staff genuinely loved him and we could not have asked for better care. Simply wonderful.
Finding Austenwood Nursing Home was such a relief as I was really having trouble finding somewhere which I thought would be suitable for my Dad, who has dementia. The atmosphere, as soon as you walk in, is very welcoming and calm and very much home from home. It doesn't feel like a care home at all and very light and airy. The staff from all areas are just wonderful - caring, understanding, fun - each providing all you can ask for in their own areas of specialism. Their empathy and compassion shines through and they treat each resident as individuals. This is everything I was looking for in a care home for my Dad. He can be challenging at times but they take it in their stride and tell me not to worry. When I chat with him we agree that this is the best place for him. Thank you
Lovely home.
My circumstances with a very elderly relative changed resulting in a Sunday enquiry for assistance. By the next day Austenwood Care Home had collected the elderly relative and welcomed her for a weeks respite care. Since then the relative has stayed in Austenwood. Relaxing in the 24 hour professional care, the comfortable surroundings and the loving people. This really is 5 star treatment. For myself this is the first time I've had to deal with a very elderly relative with diminishing physical abilities. Austenwood's staff have provided guidance, reassurance and gently taken control. I'm so grateful for them and how they always appear happy and content leaving myself to the role of spectator As for my elderly relative well she just wished she had known about Austenwood Care Home a lot earlier but that we can't change.
Austenwood Nursing Home is an outstanding nursing home on every level, from the day my brother moved in, to the day he passed peacefully and lovingly away. The home welcomed both him and the family into their loving care and hearts. He was blind, wheelchair-bound, amongst other issues and had dialysis three times a week. None of this was a problem for the home, they met his physical and dietary needs with diligent care and love. We loved visiting him and seeing the Austenwood family, it was a happy and joyful place and lovely to sit and have a coffee with the staff who always gave us a warm welcome and time. The social events were always such fun. During his end of life, we were so blessed to have him at the home. The family were held in their care and he was peaceful and calm to the very end. We will always be grateful to Austenwood Nursing Home for the nursing staff, the care and activities team for making Gordon's life so comfortable, fulfilled and happy.
Mum has been here for 18 months now and is slowly deteriorating with Alzheimer's dementia. The care has been loving and comprehensive, professional and interactive. Personal care has been excellent and respectful of her needs and fears. The vast majority of the staff, covering all the teams involved clinically, institutionally, entertaining, or service orientated have been excellent. My most recent interaction was with the senior nurse about how to manage the closing down care as Mum deteriorates into the final stage of disability with her dementia and this was thoughtful, proactive, and caring, whilst also empowering us to be involved and informed at all stages. We are confident that our Mum is in the right place for this process. Thank you to all the staff
My husband has been a resident at Austenwood since January 2024. I visit him daily for about 1.5 hours and have had during these visits the chance to observe his care both in the privacy of his room and in the resident's lounge. In the latter location, I have been able to observe the care of other residents. I can only say that I find the care at Austenwood exemplary. The employment of male/female nurses, carers, chefs, activities staff, and cleaners across multiple nationalities adds to the overall well-being of the residents. My husband's health condition means he is not the easiest resident to care for but the staff team does it all with dignity, respecting his choices and respect for his quality of life. In turn, I have been offered support on all my visits and consulted on his care needs. Every day I find him shaved, with personal hygiene attended to, and dressed appropriately. He is sometimes agitated but nursing staff react quickly with prescribed medication to calm him.
Absolutely fantastic care home. The care is the absolute best. So nice to know everyone is cared for 100% and safe. Everywhere is so clean.
All the staff at Austenwood Nursing Home are extremely helpful, friendly, and passionate. From the warm welcome at reception, the friendly face in the kitchen, and the excellent support from the carers. We are so happy our uncle is a resident at Austenwood, and look forward to our visits!
Always a pleasure to visit - anytime. My uncle is safe and cared for so well. All the staff are so nice and kind.
