View Full Details of Colonia Court Care HomeAfter a very upsetting stay at a previous home, we are delighted with the care, attitude, help and friendliness from all the staff in Paxman house, since my mother in law moved in a few weeks ago. Everyone we have spoken to, from the reception, and office staff to all the care and nursing staff has been so helpful. The food is lovely, and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. The cleanliness is good, and the facilities are also good. My Mother in law has just had her hair done in their salon, and was so happy after it. She is back to enjoying her food, and just generally seems to be in a much better place, than she has been for a while. They also have great activities for the residents to take part in, if they wish to do so. It also seems a safely run home, and seems to be secure at all times. We attended a meeting yesterday for Residents/visitors etc, and again were very happy with the way everything was explained to us by the staff, would recommend to anyone.
We have been very impressed with the care home so far, been visiting for 4 months and have been very welcomed, the care is excellent, the cleanliness is excellent and my Aunt is very happy there. Thank you!
My daughter was taken to Colonia Court from hospital and was treated with great respect and has settled in better than I thought. Wonderful staff. They told me everything that was happening to my daughter every step of the way and I was made to feel welcome.
Not an easy form to complete. I visit my friend twice weekly and find most staff very pleasant. I think they are getting to understand my friend now, being unable to move unassisted, she can get very frustrated and has been misunderstood in the past! However, 4 months later, all seems to be fine and the staff dismiss that now and are really kind. I found the food/drink difficult as I have never seen the meal; she is on a S.A.L.T. diet.
My mum was admitted to Colonia Court for an initial four-week stay, which has since been extended while her ongoing needs are assessed. From the start, the day staff have been wonderful - kind, caring, and respectful towards mum and also myself and my sister. Even though she is only a temporary resident, she has been encouraged to join in with activities including themed cultural days, playing bingo and board games and a Rock and roll themed party. She has also been taken to the café at Waitrose. The attention and care she has received have made a noticeable difference to her health. Simple things like eating and drinking regularly and having her hair done have helped her feel brighter and become more engaged. She now spends her days interacting with other residents and participating in activities, which has improved her quality of life. I am very happy with the care she is receiving and have peace of mind that she is in a safe and supportive environment.
We visited the care home on 20th August 2025 to take part in a small celebration for my sister's 90th birthday. Both my wife and I thought that the staff helped to make the occasion special. Guests attending the party were made to feel welcome and comfortable. Teas and coffees were made throughout the event and help was on hand with passing round the sandwiches and cakes provided by my niece. Our experience on the day reflects the feeling we have had on a number of visits to Colonia Court that the staff provide an excellent level of care to my sister and to my brother-in-law who is also a resident, doing so with good humour, compassion and professionalism. Thank you.
A big concern of ours when we made the hard decision that our dear mum needed proper permanent care. We could not have wished for a better place for her (Mumford House) the staff are great and so good with mum and she is well looked after. The food is also good and tasty and served at regular times. Her room is comfortable and safe, and she is slowly settling in after a couple of months. It puts our minds at rest now knowing she is safe and well cared for every day.
After making the difficult decision, we hit the jackpot with Mumford House. Mum is so well cared for, all the carers are wonderful, it's so clean & they genuinely care. Thank you all so much.
Care staff are great. Stretched at times, but not to detriment of residents. The unit (Mumford) looks tired + they need more sensory stimulation + activities in the garden. Garden needs work - uneven + pagoda rotten. Biggest issue: laundry, lost/ruined clothes. (20 odd socks at last check!) trousers shrunk, jumpers, etc stretched/unironed.
My sister and I would like to express our gratitude for your excellent care and support in our sisters last days in Paxman House.Your amazing thoughtfulness was beyond anything we could have hoped for. Every member of staff deserve a medal.
My Auntie was admitted to Colonia Court Paxman House 4 weeks ago with terminal Cancer. I can not put into words the excellent care she received. The love shown to her each time the staff walked into her room was amazing she loved them all. All the family also received the same love and support always making sure everyone was eating and drinking and taking rest whenever they could and even a hug when they could see it was needed. We as a family will be forever be gratefull for how they made the last 4 weeks of her life so much better. How do you thank them for that.
Love, love all staff members from cleaners to managers! Friendly, patient, approachable and always put above for all residents! Please, please continue to support your staff they all deserve recognition for all they do!
The care home is warm, welcoming, and well-maintained. Staff are friendly and helpful, though a notice board listing staff roles would improve communication. The home is consistently clean, with an outstanding laundry service. Meals are served warm with a good variety, catering well to different dietary needs. We appreciate that my wife is regularly offered a bath, which greatly improves her comfort. She can also enjoy hair, nail, and foot treatments for an extra fee, which helps her feel her best. Entertainment is varied and enjoyable. One improvement would be better communication about medical visits, as it can be frustrating not knowing when the doctor or physiotherapist is due. Overall, we are very happy with the care provided, and it's reassuring to know my wife is in a safe and supportive environment.
Mum moved to Mumford House because he needs had changed and it was not safe for her to live at home. She was not happy in her own home either. The move has not been an easy one but the care Mum has received and the support we have been given as a family has been excellent.
A lovely atmosphere, very friendly and welcoming. There was a routine so residents were able to work out what would come next. Although it was flexible so individuals were able to do other things. On a negative note the TV in the main lounge was very intermittent, on the main channels, only worked with films. I had a problem which I mentioned to the management which was instantly solved, and addressed and put in action for my husband, the resident. I would recommend this home for friends and family.
The home is clean and well run. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, treat all residents with dignity and respect. My sister is well cared for and very happy there and has made it clear she would not wish to be anywhere else. She has made friends there and everyone appears to get along nicely together.
Cannot praise the staff enough at Mumford House, they truly are outstanding with their care towards mum. I always feel like they care about all the residents in the home. They do lots of activities and are always happy and considerate towards mum. Thank you.
An excellent care home, which we feel is person centered. The staff are professional, caring and respectful to the residents and one another.
Outstanding support for my father, beautiful surroundings, excellent food, couldn't wish for a better place for him. Very helpful, kind but professional staff. Thank you for all you do.
Mum has been in Blomfield House for more than 5 years, all the staff and residents have now become her second family. It is a very happy place, and am so glad we chose here. There is always some form of entertainment going on, and trips out too.
