My mum has been at this home for 3yrs Now.
She would not be there if it was not the best.
When you walk in its like going into a Hotel. There is a Polite Helpful person sitting at a desk in Reception.
All the Staff are fantastic with my mum. They really care for her and look after her Very well.
Very Caring, Helpful, & Friendly.
If you want or need anything done or your not happy with something you go to the Desk Outside the Office and tell whoever is in charge what is wrong. It is done straight away or as quick as they possibly can. You Never have to wait very long.
If anything anytime you can always speak to the Manager Sue who is on the Groud Floor. She is lovely.
For the Visitors there is a Lounge on the Grould Floor it has Lovely leather seating and you can go in there and get Cake & Tea, or Coffee Free. You can go in the Lounge as many times as you want.
I was speqking to a lady her mum has been there for 13yrs. That says it all
You will not find a home better than this .

My mum spent her last 8 months at Gifford House and not once did she ask to come out, she felt safe. Annie and her care team were amazing and kind. I've never seen my mum laugh as much.

I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Gifford House who made our mum so welcome. As a family we didn't know how mum was going to settle but she was made welcome from the start and did not once say she did not feel comfortable there. Inface quite the opposite when we did take her out
she could not wait to get back to see everyone. (Betty Wing)

My nan has been a resident of this lovely care home for over a year now. The care and support she receives from all the staff is so respectful and caring. The food is lovely, the rooms are clean. They like to involve families as much as possible. Highly recommend.

I recently arranged two weeks of respite care for my mother at Gifford House Care Home, and I was so grateful we found it.
The staff were genuinely kind, attentive, and respectful, taking the time to understand my mother and make her feel comfortable and valued. The home itself was beautifully
maintained, spotless, and welcoming - with a calm, comfortable atmosphere that felt more like a high-quality hotel than a care home.
Most importantly, my mother was happy and very well cared for throughout her stay, which meant everything to me.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gifford House to anyone looking for exceptional care. It would no doubt be my first choice for a care home should I need it in the future.
My sincere thanks to everyone at Gifford House - from the owners and managers to all the staff. Your compassion and dedication truly made a difference.

I am writing following the passing of my mother, who lived at the home for approximately three years.
Given the length of time she was a resident and the involvement our family had with the home throughout that period, I was surprised and disappointed that the family received no acknowledgement
or condolences from the home following her death.
a simple message of sympathy would ordinarily be expected from a care provider after supporting a resident for such a significant period of their life. Such gestures can mean a great deal to families during an already difficult time.
The absence of any acknowledgement has been noted and has added to the family's concerns about the overall culture of care and communication we experienced.
Unfortunately this isn't unexpected given the abuse and neglect mum received during her stay.
Find a home for your loved ones that focuses on care before profit and ensure the management are accountable for everything that happens to your loved one.

My sister was a resident, her care was good and family spent most days with her. Think if we weren't their daily she would have been lonely.
Most of the staff were good and helpful. Staff were very busy all the time and didn't have the time to spend with residents.
Think perhaps residents need
more interaction - perhaps volunteers to interact with residents.

The staff were friendly kind and efficient. He finally received top class care. He waa cared for around the clock wvery 2 hours ,24 hours. The family were so grateful.that our dad, hisband had the caee he got.

For about three years I visited at least twice a week, two ladies I had responsibility for (acting on behalf of their next of kin). Both ladies were well cared for and both were loved dearly by the staff. The staff made sure all their physical needs were met with dignity. They were also invested to
know these two ladies offering them friendship and warmth at the end of these ladies' lives. The staff were extremely supportive and caring. The whole team work well together.

My mum arrived at Gifford House on the 1st of May having been diagnosed with bone cancer along with Alzheimer's in hospital. She was given just 12 weeks to live. With the care and devotion of the staff at Gifford House my mum was there for 36 weeks and truly surprised us all. From the minute I
arrived with my mum from hospital to the minute I left after clearing her room the staff were wonderful. My mum had visitors from 11:30 am until her bedtime every single day of her stay. My dad visited every day and I was there 5 or 6 days a week. My aunts and family visited every day too. Whenever we arrived we were greeted with smiles and the staff weren't only kind to my mum but they were kind to all of us too. Mum didn't know she had cancer but they built her up over time and made her stronger and for some months she was very stable. The kindness, care and devotion shown to my mum by all the staff at Gifford House will never be forgotten and we are truly grateful to everyone who cared for my wonderful mum.

I was delighted with the professional and welcoming attitude of the staff. They answered all questions promptly and seemed to be enjoying their work despite the obviously difficult environment. The home was very clean and looked well cared for, even the cleaning staff had a smile and 'hello' for
residents. My overall impression was of a well-run facility.

Very poor care, have repeatedly asked for my nan to have soft food, and help with eating, but this never happens. She had spilt her cornflakes from breakfast over herself, when I arrived to visit at 13.30, her bed was soaked with milk and she was covered in cornflakes. I've asked them to help her
take her medications, they get left on her table and we find them in her bed. Bedding is dirty, food in her bed and is left. Her legs are covered in bruises, she has a wound on her bottom caused by being pulled up the bed on a sheet, none of this was reported to NOK. Putting incontinence pads on her when she's not incontinent, all she needs is help to the toilet, pure laziness. Shocking care.

the kindness shown at such a difficult time.

My dad was moved into Gifford house in September 2023 and I had heard such horror stories bout care homes. But this is the best place ever for my dad, he has flourished and put on weight always clean-shaven and washed clothes. I would never move him, he is there now for the duration. The staff are
so helpful and kind and you can turn up any time of day and all the residents are happy and clean and if I have to go into care in the future this would be my home of choice.

Overall, my husband had great care, he was always shaved, hair cut, clean and he was happy there, spoke about the different staff members with fondness. Sorry he had to move.

To everyone at Gifford House.
I would like to wish all the staff a very Merry Christmas and to take this opportunity to say a big thank you for all the excellent care and support I have been given. Especially many of the staff members, there are so many I could name, but the list is just too long.
I had such a fear of coming to a care home, but that fear has very much been alleviated by all the staff. So again, thank you all.
Merry Christmas and a very Happy New year!
