View Full Details of Welshwood ManorMy mother has been a resident of Welshwood Manor since December 2024. She has settled well into a routine and now regards it as her home. Mum has a lovely big room which overlooks many mature trees and fields in the distance. Welshwood has a homely atmosphere and the residents are friendly and supportive of each other. The staff are friendly, caring and efficient and work hard to meet the individual needs of the residents. They are also very welcoming to visitors. The staff are always responsive when contacted and act promptly when requests are made. There are a number of activities offered and residents are encouraged to join in. The residents obviously enjoy doing these together. There is a very pleasant garden for residents to enjoy too. The home has been making improvements to the fabric of the building recently and there are plans for further work. Overall, Welshwood Manor offers a very good package to residents and I can wholeheartedly recommend it.
The care provided has improved from last year.
A very good care home with a lovely homely feel. The staff mostly excellent as is the level of care. Assessment below reflects my mother in laws view. The food and the activities would benefit from higher quality and variety/breadth, respectively. Home immaculately clean. Price like all care homes.
My Aunt has been here for over a year and is very happy and well cared for. The staff are lovely, friendly and happy and really care about the residents. There are activities and outings that residents can attend. There is a hairdresser and a chiropodist who come in too. There are events put on throughout the year. Issues to mention are the car park that has potholes that need filling, and the ongoing redecoration needs to be finished.
My mum's been a resident for a couple of years now. She is well looked after and cared for. The staff are always polite and helpful when I call or visit. The home is situated perfectly in lovely surroundings. It is comforting to know that she is there; it's taken away any worry for her future care. I would highly recommend Welshwood.
Welshwood Manor has a lot to commend it. It's an immaculately clean, pleasant and welcoming environment with exceptional levels of care. Unlike some care homes, it doesn't have a bespoke restaurant or numerous social spaces / facilities. The social areas are really a large lounge and conservatory ... not forgetting the beautifully appointed garden, which is a real joy to linger in when the weather is fine. From the outside, the building looks functional but it is set amid mature trees that provide comfort throughout the year. From every room it seems there are pleasant views of the garden and, at the back, of the fields and woods beyond. A real bonus in terms of a resident's well-being. Although it's difficult to think of any residential establishment as one's home, Welshwood Manor does a pretty good job of making it feel like one. Spaces are attractive and well maintained. Pictures on the wall are discreet and appealing. Hairdressing and other services are provided.
Such a lovely home all staff are brilliant and mum is happy there being well looked after. The home is lovely and clean it has a beautiful garden to go and sit it and beautiful surrounding views. The food is very good and I know mum enjoys all her meals there.
My mum has been resident at Welshwood for the past couple of years. It was a difficult transition for her to move from her own home in her 50's to a care home but I cannot fault the carehome for the compassion, patience and understanding they showed to her. She's a very strong minded person who can be difficult (especially since she used to be a nurse herself), but the staff at Welshwood really support her and I'm so grateful for how well they look after her. Is really recommend this care home, I've visited quite a few now and can genuinely say that Welshwood was the nicest by far, nice and open, lovely reception area with teas/coffees for the visitors, lovely communal spaces, my mum even has an en-suite shower/bathroom!
My husband is content at Welshwood and happy with all the friendly staff there in all areas. Welshwood is a relatively small home which makes it so much more 'homely' with residents knowing staff and a few residents they can easily interact with. It is a home I would and have recommended. Visitors always made welcome at any time.
My wife was a resident here for 9 months. The home has a relaxed, open, friendly feel. The staff are caring, friendly, understanding and helpful. All of this is a reflection on the welcoming attitude of the relatively new management team who are striving to improve the home and the whole experience for the residents. I would recommend this home under its current leadership. It helps that the home is situated in a quiet, semi-rural area, with a pleasant garden and easy access.
My mum has been a resident here since August 2021. She is very well looked after by kind, caring and compassionate staff. The home is very well managed by people who have the residents' best interests at heart as well as ensuring the long-term security of the facility. Access to the senior team is good and conversations are conducted professionally, respectfully and with good humour. I was fortunate to know a family whose loved ones had benefited from being placed at this home, so when making a choice for my own mum, I was always confident that she would be safe, secure and well looked after. I recommend this home.
Mum has been a resident here for a year and loves it. The staff are lovely and very caring and considerate and look after mum well. When she moved in her physical and mental health had declined but she has improved here. She feels secure and supported which has helped. Welshwood Manor is in lovely quiet surroundings and is well-maintained. I would recommend it.
My friend has been at the home since February 2023. She is relatively young (55yrs). We have been facing a number of health issues and the complications that brings. All of the staff are patient and kind to both of us. The journey is a tough one but made bearable by the staff who have shown me fantastic support as well as my friend. My friend will say she loves the food especially the roasts and at this time strawberry milkshake. Everywhere is wonderfully clean and I feel safe in the knowledge that she is being cared for with respect and dignity.
My overall feeling of Welshwood Manor is very good. The food seems fine and the gardens and surroundings are very nice. My Mum is very happy there and now she has plenty of company and is looked after by the lovely staff.
The home is warm and welcoming and the garden is superb; when weather is inclement it can be enjoyed from the conservatory or, weather permitting, you can sit out and enjoy it. The staff are brilliant with my father, he was admitted in September 2022 and I couldn’t wish for a better placement for him. The care he gets is impeccable.
The carers are very good and care for the residents.
I have been a resident at Welshwood Manor since January 2022, I could not have picked a better home. I have been in other care homes but none compare to this one. The food is marvellous and I enjoy every meal. I thoroughly enjoy the activities and the staff are all amazing. I am so happy here.
The staff at the Welshwood Manor have shown great care and compassion for Mum as she begins to come to terms with the loss of Dad who died with her at his side in the home in December. They have encouraged Mum to integrate with other residents and to take part in activities. The staff have also ensured that Mum's increasingly complex care needs are monitored and arranged the interaction of physio and occupational therapy. All staff continue to show all of us great understanding after the loss of Dad. Thank you.
My first visit to Welshwood Manor. What a lovely place, in a very nice woodland location. My mum has a great view of the garden and can watch the birds and squirrels. The staff are helpful and friendly.
My sister has been at Welshwood Manor for just over a year. She’s so happy and content, it’s a delightful visit every time, seeing her face light up when I visit. She calls all the staff family and says she loves them all. She enjoys the activities, especially bingo. There is always lots of fun and laughter between her and the staff.
