My mother went in for 2 weeks respite care, she has previously stayed 6 weeks on separate occasions in respite. The staff and management are excellent, making sure they understand my mums needs and they have provided us with excellent care. We requested the same room which was available, which was familiar and comfortable which is important as my mum has dementia. The room + property is very clean + comfortable. The staff provide us with updates on how mum is getting on and we cannot praise them enough. We will continue to use Welshwood for respite care, as mum is very happy there and always says how well she has been looked after.
Thank you so much for your lovely review and for taking the time to send this, I will pass on your thanks to all the staff, they all love seeing your Mum when she returns to us. It has been a pleasure to care for Mum every time she returns, she always settles so well in her room and gives us such lovely smile as she arrives. We look forward to seeing Mum again very soon.
Mum has been in hospital a couple of times recently with health issues and it's very stressful of course as it would be for anybody, but when she gets back to the home you can see the relief on her face to be back in her lovely room, which she absolutely loves and to be back to her wonderful carers and friends she's made.
I would definitely recommend Welshwood Manor to anyone.
Thank you so much for taking the time to send your review, and for recommending us. We are very lucky to have such amazing location it's always so peaceful here, and I'm sure this has helped Mum to settle as well as she has. It is always so lovely to see Mum's smile when she returns and recognises...
My mother, who has dementia, has now been here for nearly 10 months and I have been very pleased with the care she has received.
What has impressed me most is the kindness and genuine caring shown by the staff. They treat residents as people rather than just patients, and it is clear they really do care. During a short stay in hospital, some members of staff even took the time to visit my mother, which meant a lot to both her and our family.
Any issues or concerns that arise are dealt with well and I feel listened to when I raise something. My mother also has some quite specific medical issues relating to food, and I have been impressed by the care taken to understand and accommodate her needs.
I have recommended this home to others and would do so again.
Thank you so much for your kind review. This is appreciated, I am so pleased that you have been impressed with the kindness and care your Mum has received here at Welshwood Manor. We all love caring your mother, she is a lovely lady and has built many friendships here. It has been good to see Mum...
Unfortunately there's a new manager that took over late last year and since then I've raised formal complaints about neglect of oral care (resulting in 6 fillings in under a year), lack of personal hygiene and more worryingly, unexplained bruises & a terribly fungal infection of her toe nails that were also so long they curled around one of her toes! I later went on to find photos of from back in October, and only now discovered because my mums in hospital! After raising complaints Kym (the manager) had been building a case to have her removed from the home, deeming her normal mid stage dementia behaviour as 'unmanageable' despite their adverts above. Mum has back to back UTI's & always in hospital, found through daily care notes all she drinks is coke & coffee around 1300ml a day- likely causing UTI's! They've now rendered her homeless & she's stuck in hospital with no where to go! Massively impacting her dementia & seeking legal advice against the home! AVOID
We are sorry we had to terminate your mother's residence at Welshwood Manor, we appreciate it was your wish and your families wish that she should stay at Welshwood Manor. We do realise and empathise with how you feel. Unfortunately with your mother's progressive condition, it became an...
The welcoming, friendly atmosphere and professional care they provided not only sped her recovery, it also put our minds at rest as a family, knowing that she was in good safe hands.
I would highly recommend this care home.

My mother has been a resident of Welshwood Manor since December 2024. She has settled well into a routine and now regards it as her home. Mum has a lovely big room which overlooks many mature trees and fields in the distance. Welshwood has a homely atmosphere and the residents are friendly and supportive of each other. The staff are friendly, caring and efficient and work hard to meet the individual needs of the residents. They are also very welcoming to visitors. The staff are always responsive when contacted and act promptly when requests are made. There are a number of activities offered and residents are encouraged to join in. The residents obviously enjoy doing these together. There is a very pleasant garden for residents to enjoy too. The home has been making improvements to the fabric of the building recently and there are plans for further work. Overall, Welshwood Manor offers a very good package to residents and I can wholeheartedly recommend it.
Thank you so much for your kind review. This is appreciated. We love having your mother here, she is deeply adored, and we are glad she feels that this is her home. She is a part of the family here at Welshwood. It's always a pleasure having you and the family visit here at Welshwood Manor. Thank you for taking the time to review us.
The care provided has improved from last year.
Thank you for your review. This is appreciated. It's been an honour having your mother here at Welshwood, everyone has gained a special bond with her, and she makes everyone's day special.
A very good care home with a lovely homely feel. The staff mostly excellent as is the level of care. Assessment below reflects my mother in laws view. The food and the activities would benefit from higher quality and variety/breadth, respectively. Home immaculately clean. Price like all care homes.
Thank you for taking the time to do a review. We appreciate hearing your feedback. We absolutely love having your mother-in-law here at Welshwood, she is the sunshine that brightens up everyone's days. It is always a pleasure having you visit here at Welshwood. Thank you
My Aunt has been here for over a year and is very happy and well cared for. The staff are lovely, friendly and happy and really care about the residents. There are activities and outings that residents can attend. There is a hairdresser and a chiropodist who come in too. There are events put on throughout the year. Issues to mention are the car park that has potholes that need filling, and the ongoing redecoration needs to be finished.
Thank you so much for your review. This is appreciated. We are enjoying having your aunt here, and it's been a pleasure getting to know her during her stay here at Welshwood Manor. We are grateful for your feedback. The two issues you have mentioned this should be resolved soon. It is a current work in progress at the moment. We appreciate your patience.
She is well looked after and cared for.
The staff are always polite and helpful when I call or visit.
The home is situated perfectly in lovely surroundings.
It is comforting to know that she is there; it's taken away any worry for her future care.
I would highly recommend Welshwood.
Thank you so much for your kind review, this is appreciated. We are very touched by your words, we adore looking after your mum, she is apart of the Welshwood family as well as yourself. Its always a pleasure.
Welshwood Manor has a lot to commend it. It's an immaculately clean, pleasant and welcoming environment with exceptional levels of care. Unlike some care homes, it doesn't have a bespoke restaurant or numerous social spaces / facilities. The social areas are really a large lounge and conservatory ... not forgetting the beautifully appointed garden, which is a real joy to linger in when the weather is fine.
From the outside, the building looks functional but it is set amid mature trees that provide comfort throughout the year. From every room it seems there are pleasant views of the garden and, at the back, of the fields and woods beyond. A real bonus in terms of a resident's well-being.
Although it's difficult to think of any residential establishment as one's home, Welshwood Manor does a pretty good job of making it feel like one. Spaces are attractive and well maintained. Pictures on the wall are discreet and appealing. Hairdressing and other services are provided.
Thank you for your review, this is appreciated. It has been a pleasure having your mum here at Welshwood as well as having regularly visits from yourself. Your mum brings so much joy and happiness to our hearts, she is the sunshine here at Welshwood. Thank you for your feedback, you both have become apart of the family here at Welshwood manor.
It is a home I would and have recommended.
Visitors always made welcome at any time.
Thank you so much for the review, you have become a part of our family and it is always a pleasure to see you.
It helps that the home is situated in a quiet, semi-rural area, with a pleasant garden and easy access.
Thank you so much for the review, it was our pleasure and we are lucky that we still get to see you both.
My mum has been a resident here since August 2021. She is very well looked after by kind, caring and compassionate staff. The home is very well managed by people who have the residents' best interests at heart as well as ensuring the long-term security of the facility. Access to the senior team is good and conversations are conducted professionally, respectfully and with good humour. I was fortunate to know a family whose loved ones had benefited from being placed at this home, so when making a choice for my own mum, I was always confident that she would be safe, secure and well looked after. I recommend this home.
Thank you so much for the review, we miss mum loads.
Welshwood Manor is in lovely quiet surroundings and is well-maintained. I would recommend it.
Thank you for your review, it's a joy to be part of her journey and always enjoy our lunchtime chats.
My friend will say she loves the food especially the roasts and at this time strawberry milkshake. Everywhere is wonderfully clean and I feel safe in the knowledge that she is being cared for with respect and dignity.
We look forward to your visits and we are all loving the strawberry milkshakes too.
My overall feeling of Welshwood Manor is very good. The food seems fine and the gardens and surroundings are very nice. My Mum is very happy there and now she has plenty of company and is looked after by the lovely staff.
We all enjoy listening to Mum's stories about her past and going on daily walks within the community.
The home is warm and welcoming and the garden is superb; when weather is inclement it can be enjoyed from the conservatory or, weather permitting, you can sit out and enjoy it. The staff are brilliant with my father, he was admitted in September 2022 and I couldn’t wish for a better placement for him. The care he gets is impeccable.
Thank you for your review, Dad is an absolute joy to spend time with and I look forward to being greeted with a thumbs-up in the morning and a cheeky smile.
The carers are very good and care for the residents.
I have been a resident at Welshwood Manor since January 2022, I could not have picked a better home. I have been in other care homes but none compare to this one. The food is marvellous and I enjoy every meal. I thoroughly enjoy the activities and the staff are all amazing. I am so happy here.
