Heartfelt thanks to the staff at this home. My husband suffers from a number of mental health challenges and it was very hard to relinquish his care to others. He is better cared for at The Lodge than I could manage at home. I actually heard him chuckle recently for the first time in ages. The compassion, skill and understanding received from the manager and staff is beyond price. Thank you from his family.

Moving my Dad into a care home was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make. My Dad is 88 years old and lives with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson's disease.
The sensitivity, compassion, and kindness shown by Clare and her team have been exceptional. Clare leads her team with genuine care, focus, and attentiveness, creating a warm and supportive environment dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for both my Dad and all the residents at The Lodge.
The building and grounds are peaceful and calming, while the atmosphere within The Lodge is welcoming, safe, and friendly.
I have absolutely no doubts about our decision to move my Dad into The Lodge. I feel reassured, settled, and happy knowing that he is receiving the specialist care, support, and kindness that he truly deserves.

Thank you, Clare and the entire team.

My mum was placed at Lodge around September 2025 for rest bite but she needed 24hr care. The Lodge provides a safe loving environment for there residents, all are well looked after & treated with respect & like one big family. When ever we visit always made to feel welcome. We get updates with all there activities throughout the week & pictures, which is lovely to see. Mum is always happy.

Placing and then leaving one of your parents in a Care Home is a very worrying time for any relation and it was the same for us, but my Mother-in-law, who has been in the caring hands of the Staff at The Lodge in Maldon for 3 years now, has been thoroughly cared for and looked after much more than we could have ever hoped for.
The difference it seems at this Care Home is, that each and every member of Staff DO care and look after all Residents with kindness and professionalism.
At this particular Home the care is 'all rounded', apart from looking after the Residents, they enjoy good food, parties, indoor and outdoor events, regular entertainment and involvement with seasonal activities such as Easter and Christmas and Birthdays for each Resident is celebrated individually.
It is very comforting to know that Mum is in a safe and happy place and that she is well looked after at all times.

Thanks to all the hard work given by the Staff and the Manager Clare at The Lodge in Maldon.

My Grandad has only recently moved to The Lodge having previously refused to want to move out of his own house. The atmosphere is so nice there, and all the staff are really welcoming and friendly that he actually said he hasn't been this happy in years. Thank you to all at The Lodge.

What can I say, my father has been at The Lodge for 10 months now and I can honestly say We as a family have no complaints. My father is cared for amazingly from everyone who works there. He is happy, safe, well fed and healthy.
I had Christmas dinner with my dad at The Lodge and it was like home from home with a lovely Christmas dinner, the atmosphere was great.
Leading upto Christmas there was entertainment for the residents nearly every day which was wonderful.
I am so happy that we found The Lodge to care for my dad and I would definitely recommend this care home, as it's homely and has that personnel touch to all residents.

Thank you all at The Lodge for your support and care towards my dad.

Such a delightful warm and caring environment, I totally recommend the friendly, happy, cosy, and kind atmosphere at The Lodge. Exactly a year ago, my Mother and Father were really struggling, and we looked at 20+ places for them, and chose The Lodge, due to its welcoming and homely atmosphere. This has proved a great choice, and it really feels just like being at home.

The Lodge helped us, and our mother, to deal with the heartbreaking loss of our Father a couple of months later, and what feels like an extended family of carers and indeed other residents at The Lodge make every day there special, safe, and friendly. If you are thinking of a spot for respite, or for longer term care, I really recommend this place, and these people.

The team at the Lodge has recently won a string of awards, which are are richly deserved. The home maintains a group messaging chat, which gives updates every day of the interesting and varied activities, and keeps everyone updated; really lovely!

The improvement in my mum's general well being and happiness since residing at The Lodge is amazing . This can be put down to the care and attention she is given by all the staff and friendship from other residents that have improved her life immensely.

I cannot state how amazing all of the staff and management have helped my father.
When my Dad first went into care he was unable to walk! Now he is up dancing and is integrating in activities.
I'm currently house bound with Mental Health issues and the guilt I feel not being able to see my father is helped by the wonderful and numerous photos that are sent on the group they have set up.

The photos are amazing and I can just see the happiness on my Dads face. They are active in finding everything each individuals true likes and loves are/where and bring as much of that with their personalised interaction as possible. Thank you so much for all the hard work and effort that you put into caring for my father and everyone's else's beloved family member.

Dad has been at The Lodge for just over a year now.
I can't fault the care he receives and the fact that he has a dedicated carer means that his care is personal to him. He is not just another resident.
Communication between the carers / management and resident's families is excellent and no reasonable request is too much trouble.
The Lodge endeavours to regularly provide stimulating activities for the residents, employing a range of equipment, technologies and providers. Given the age profile of many of the residents, activities are targeted to ensure relevance, for example, the recent VE day celebration which was themed as a street party on the grounds at The Lodge.
They also try to maintain a connection between the residents and the community, often involving local schools and, where aporopriate, facilitating trips to places of interest.

Placing dad in the excellent care of The Lodge has brought peace of mind to our family, knowing he is safe, appreciated and well cared for.

My mum has been at The Lodge since July 2021.

It has always been a really caring place, with excellent staff. Since new management have taken over it has gone from strength to strength. It is comforting to know that my darling mum is looked after by professional but top tier caring staff. Food has always been and continues to be nourishing and varied, with really lovely personal touches like each resident having a cake baked especially for their birthdays. There are always activities and events going on and relatives are welcomed at all times. It's the little things like this that put 'home' into the care home. My family are very happy with the management, staff, facilities, food and accommodation. Lovely happy home.

My Mum has been living in the lodge for 2 years due to suffering from Vascular dementia and health problems. She is cared for with kindness and compassion. All the staff including kitchen ladies, cleaners, carers and management are all genuinely kind and loving towards the residents and I have witnessed exemplary care and nursing skills.

The manager and deputy respond immediately to any concerns or requests and do their utmost to help. They always show such knowledge of my Mums needs and problems and they call the Dr/ nurse/ paramedic quickly for any health issues.

Visitors are made to feel so welcome and the door is always opened with a smile.

Having your loved one in a care home is the hardest and saddest situation but the Lodge gives you peace of mind that they are looked after in your absence.
