View Full Details of Marie Louise HouseMy Mother has been in Marie Louise Home for almost a year. I cannot fault the care shown by the care staff - they are patient, compassionate and kind especially as my Mother has deteriorated greatly in her health over the last couple of months. The staff are always friendly and pleasant and some in particular are exceptional without naming names. It is good that there is very little evidence of agency staff which makes it easier to get to know that staff looking after Mum. The food is excellent and always hot and well cooked. The rooms are comfortable and spacious enough for the needs of elderly people. My only complaint would be the complete lack of communication from the management of the home. I have e-mailed with queries on funding which have not been replied to and there has been no official feedback to me on my Mother's health etc since she went in last year. Luckily the nursing staff make up for this shortfall.
My mother moved in a month ago. From the day she moved in, I was impressed by the caring, friendly atmosphere. She has settled in well, and it is a big relief for me to see her needs being met so well. The building is light and airy and well-suited to wheelchair users. The food and cleanliness are excellent. I have also been impressed by the support staff. The friendly welcome by the reception the helpfulness of Housekeeping. I am very pleased we chose Marie Louise House.
Exceptional care provided for my mum in her 9th decade.
Our experience of the home was outstanding. My Mother was very well cared for and very happy in the short time she spent here before she passed away. We will be forever grateful that Mum's experience was so happy and reflects our final memories of her.
My mother was brought into Marie Louise a month ago after a fall. I cannot praise the staff and facilities highly enough. She is so very happy and it is a joy to see how relaxed and comfortable she is. The many and varied activities have proved a very important part of her day - she is so enjoying the company and stimulation. She enjoys every aspect of her day and she seems not to want to return home! Such caring and kind staff. Highly recommended.
After a bad fall at home, my grandmother decided to go to Marie Louise House for some respite. She is having a great time. The staff have been so kind and respectful. The food has been amazing and there are always fun and engaging activities for the residents to get involved with if they wish. Her room is fantastic and there’s a really relaxed atmosphere in the home. Communication with the home has been fantastic. It provides such peace of mind knowing that she is being well cared for and nurtured back to health. She describes it as being on holiday! We love going to visit her and it’s lovely seeing how the staff interact with all of the residents.
The moment I entered Marie Louise House I knew this was going to be a wonderful place for my mum. Although sadly she only had a short stay, the staff were always so kind, caring and professional and showed amazing attention and dignity during her final hours. A lovely care home ran by lovely staff.
My Mum was here from September to December 2020, where she received wonderful support for Alzheimer's and lovely care at end of life as we couldn't visit due to Covid. Dad was moved here in July 2020 from hospital after a massive stroke in May. The staff ensured that Mum and Dad saw each other every day despite being on different wards, Dad was the only person Mum could connect with due to her disease. The staff supported Dad through his grieving during our enforced absence. All staff, including admin, were so supportive of our family and we really can't thank them enough. One member of staff attended Dad's funeral today on her day off and we really appreciate it and understand that others wanted to attend but current staff pressures made this impossible. You are an amazing team and I thoroughly recommend you to anyone facing the hard decision of finding suitable residential care for a loved family member.
My mother has been at Marie Louise House, Romsey since April 2022 and I have nothing but praise for this home. Mum (who has dementia) has rallied enormously since moving into the home and every time I ask her what she thinks of the home, she always says that she loves it and wishes to end her days there. The care, food, support staff and everything about the home is perfect for Mum. The setting is wonderful - quiet, safe and secure and I am so pleased that we chose this home for Mum.
This is such a great nursing home, I can't fault it. The staff are more than staff to the residents, they care so much for the residents and the home is run brilliantly. It's clean and bright and has a well-planned schedule of activities. The staff are excellently trained and thoughtful. My mum is really happy there and so are well.
Always very helpful staff. Particularly in helping me arrange Mum's birthday party.
Overall, I am extremely happy with our experiences over the past 18 months.
Always kind and caring in my experience. I think there is sometimes a break in communications regarding some aspects of my mother's care, however, outweighed by the warmth and genuine desire to do a good job! I think there is an opportunity to broaden the activities perhaps.
My husband and I decided to relocate my aunt from her existing care home to Marie Louise. From the very first contact, our experience was positive. They helped facilitate what was a complicated and challenging move and were there for us and our aunt at every turn. Once she arrived at Marie Louise our best hopes for what she would experience were more than realised. The professionalism of the staff, the attention they pay to our aunt and the level of contact and engagement we receive have been nothing short of outstanding. The home is immaculate and professionally run. Attempts to discuss ongoing care issues etc. with the manager and her staff have been welcomed and encouraged. Both my husband and I have previous experience of care homes, with our parents and grand parents having spent time in other facilities. We therefore feel we are well qualified to comment on how Marie Louise is run. It is an excellent, well run and professionally managed care home.
A surprisingly good experience.
All the staff is wonderfully caring. We feel blessed that we found Marie Louise house. Everything in the home is beautifully presented and looked after and looks clean and attractive.
Very good all round but response to calls are slower than desired.
I am very happy at the home. I feel very safe, the food is delicious. Very welcoming to my friends.
The care at Marie Louise House is excellent. They always ask me what I want. The carers are very supportive and the manager very understanding and a good listener. I highly recommend the home.
I live at Marie Louise House. It is my home. The staff are so helpful and attentive to my needs. I would not want to be anywhere else. Thank you for looking after me.
