My Dad was in the home for almost 4 years and in all that time he was always treated with care, kindness and respect. He was well cared for and although he could be difficult with his food they always tried to make sure that they cooked what he liked. As a family we were always made to feel welcome
and had a good relationship with the staff. My Dad especially enjoyed the days when they had singers in to entertain the residents and he always sung along to the songs. In the days leading up to the end of his life, all the staff made sure that he was well looked after and comfortable.
Bryon should be very proud of his team as they are all outstanding. Thank you all for all the love and care you gave our Dad.

All anyone can wish for when their loved ones can no longer care for themselves is the opportunity to arrange the best loving care for them. As a family we are very pleased that we have found this care at Oaklands. The nursing staff & carers are wonderful and really treat Mum like a person not a
job. Mum has settled well and enjoys the activities which the team work hard to provide week in week out. It is a real community at the home and you can feel this as soon as you whale through the door.

My dad arrived at Oaklands in April 2022 and from his arrival until his passing on 15th February 2026 he was treated with the upmost respect and first class care, the past few years gave him a second lease of life making new friends enjoying the entertainment particularly the sing along with Marcus.
The past few days have been tough . This was made bearable by the care, love respect and dignity my dad and the family received during this emotional time. Our hearts are broken but are lives richer for having him as a dad dad in law and grandad.
You are truly all selfless kind compassionate people we thank you from the bottom of the family's hearts.

My mum in law was sent to Oaklands House Care Centre prior to a permanent plan after a hospital admission. On leaving hospital she used the toilet with help and wore incontinence pads for 'accidents'. Our experience here was not the best. She was left in bed as they didn't have enough chairs for her
to be taken downstairs - even though she could go in a wheelchair & sit at the table, most of the time. When she was in bed she was not dressed and on one occasion - in a wet bed. Now she has moved to a new home she is almost back to the level she was when she left hospital & has her dignity back.

My husband was cared for at Oaklands House Care Centre for 2 years until his death. During this time he was treated with care and dignity. I know at times his dementia made him very difficult but the staff knew how to help him through these times. During the day the variety of activities provided by
the excellent lifestyles team were second to none. From quizzes and word games to singalongs and visiting entertainers there was something for everyone. When it came to end of life care we were cared for as a family. During all this time the staff of Oaklands House Care Centre became like a second family. I got to know many of the other residents so the obvious thing for me to do after his death was to volunteer. I love spending time with the residents one day a week. Whether it's making a cup of tea, having a chat, cleaning musical instruments or enjoying listening to a visiting singer my day is busy but enjoyable. I get as much out of my day as I'm able to give to the residents.

I was sceptical at first when seeing the home, however the staff are really on the ball with all residents and their families.
Nothing is ever to much even for the visitors they go above and beyond to look out for the residents in their care.
I have to single out Terri as someone who takes the
time to listen to any concerns and also addresses them when we visit my grandmother 3-4 times a week.
The manager Byron is always smiling and welcoming everyone with a positive attitude,
He leads a very well oiled machine.
If you need a place for a relative or friend this should be your first choice.

Mum seems to have settled in better than we thought she would. Her whole life has changed drastically but the staff all seem to be really thoughtful and caring and although she forgets most things she doesn't forget how kind everyone is. Her room is always clean and tidy and her clothes are clean.
She also tells me that the staff who wash her are also very kind.
