View Full Details of Bentley Lodge Care and Nursing HomeI have been visiting a friend in Bentley lodge on a regular basis for companionship to my friend and to help her family as they like her to have regular contact with family and friends.I go into other care homes also but would like to say how warm and welcoming the staff are here. On entering the home you are greeted with very pleasant staff from the office staff to all the carers and workers helping. There is always someone to help and speak to when needed snd the patient care I would say is excellent. It is a pleasure to be part of and a welcoming place to visit.
My mum was discharged from hospital to the home, suffering ongoing delirium. We were very apprehensive of the move and how she would be able to cope with this change. She was welcomed by all the staff who made an exceptional effort to settle her in. This included the home and deputy manager, the nurses and carers. They gave their time willingly, listening to our concerns as we tried to explain our mum's needs. This gave us the confidence that we could put our trust in them, putting our minds at rest. Their care has been exemplary throughout the last few months. The chef prepares her a special soft food diet for which we are very appreciative. The cleaners are friendly and keep the home spotless. The home has a full programme of activities. The staff are so patient and kind. This kindness has been extended to the whole family - giving us their time willingly, always happy to discuss how things are going or what systems can be put in place to try to help my mum and her ongoing needs.
My father spent his last three and a half years at Bentley Lodge Nursing Home. While not luxurious, it is clean, welcoming, and resident-friendly. The management continuously makes improvements to enhance residents' comfort and safety, and I appreciate their open-door policy. The nursing staff is diligent and caring, providing excellent support with commitment and respect. Other staff, including those in cleaning and cooking, are essential for the facility's smooth operation. The care staff, in particular, are professional and hardworking. One of my dad's greatest joys was the singing entertainment, and the Activities team works hard to keep residents engaged. Overall, Bentley Lodge offers a welcoming and friendly environment with good care.
My relative has been in Bentley Lodge for the last few years. We visit very regularly and have found all the staff to be caring, friendly and professional. Dementia care needs a special set of skills, and the activities on offer are reflective of that. It's lovely to see how the carers treat my relative like they are a member of their own family. It's very reassuring.
Dad has been well cared for and supported since arriving at Bentley Lodge. I feel relieved to know he is safe and happy when I am not with him. The staff are welcoming and update me regularly on Dad's current needs.
My wife was in this home. Sadly she is no longer with us, I still visit the staff and residents and am always welcomed with love, even the managers make time for me. I can see the home continues to improve on each visit. When and if I need care, I would come here.
The caring team were exceptional always there to attend promptly where needed likewise the bedroom accomodation was perfect size wise and the daily cleaing was second to none Two television rooms were ideal for those who preferred to socialise and eat with oter residents. Televisions within the bedrooms for those who preferred solitude
My grandmother receives an amazing quality of care at Bentley Lodge. Whenever I visit the activities staff always seem to be working hard to makes sure all of the residents are engaging in some form of activity and exercise and I am always invited to join in which is lovely. My grandmother thoroughly enjoys the food served and she has thrived under the care given.
Lovely home, great feel as soon as I walked in and the staff were very friendly . i was there when they did a raffle for charity and all residents was involved and there families , Great atmosphere and they laid on some lovely food .All in all a lovely day and the residents were all happy especially when they won
Dad has dementia & was recently moved for respite, as we didn't want him to leave his home. However he is so happy here, has picked up amazingly & we couldn't be happier with his care & the peace of mind it's given us. The manager & the team are amazing, friendly & we are so grateful dad is being well looked after. He is stimulated with various activities, he specially enjoys bird watching from inside and out in the garden.
Popped in to see my friend, when visiting my family in the area. My friend was settled very happy within herself, had just had her hair done. She was chatty, seemed happy with all the staff and said she had had a lovely lunch. I spoke to a few staff members, polite, cheerful and very helpful, was nice to see my friend happy and very relaxed.
Lovely, welcoming feel to the home, staff are very attentive although always busy. Happy to answer questions and felt reassured they are giving the best care with a smile. It is a pleasure to visit and so lovely to see my friend interacting with staff and residents doing activities provided.
The care is pretty poor. I seldom saw carers checking on my relative, only the cleaner who was so kind and lovely. I can count on one hand the number of times I saw carers checking in on my relative. Once when feeding, the carer was just shovelling the food in, to the point that I said "Stop! They'll choke as they haven't swallowed the last mouthful!". Compared to another home that I visit regularly for another relative, Bentley Lodge isn't great. Staff don't seem to care, spend much of their time chatting amongst themselves or playing on their phones, rather than engaging with the residents. Alarms are going off constantly and just ignored, which must be awful for residents to have relentless alarms just being ignored. When you request something, it would take me asking several times before it got done. My relative was bed-bound with zero stimulation. When they passed, not even so much as a condolence card, after 4.5 years, just a condolences at the top of the email with the last bill.
The home is quite welcoming when you enter. Security is good, pin pad required to enter the home. Has recently had new flooring and is much better. The staff are helpful and responsive to the needs of the residents. The home is kept very clean and tidy. Overall, I'm very happy to know my mum is kept safe and well.
Dad has settled in very well. The staff are very kind and attentive to his needs. Lots of various activities every day. I particularly like how the staff have grouped Dad with some lovely people who look after him and keep him chatting around the table.
I was very apprehensive about my dad going into a care home, but since he has been in Bentley Lodge Care and Nursing Home, I am surprised with the quality of care he receives, its outstanding. The staff are always available to answer any questions I have relating to my dad's care and the administrators are friendly and can help with all aspects of his care. Anything relating to my dad's care they will always phone to let me know. I can sleep easy knowing he is in good hands.
I spent fifteen months as a resident at Bentley Lodge Care and Nursing Home and returned to my home a much healthier person. The care I received in that time was very good and I will always be grateful to the staff. The majority of the staff were never without a smile and made a big impression on me and I will never forget them. Some of the residents were very challenging for the staff (due to dementia) but they just carried on being happy and always smiling. I was in a very dark place when I arrived at Bentley Lodge but can honestly say, I went home a much happier and relaxed person and I am sure this is due to the amazing carers. I had a very nice room and my only complaint is with the plumbing as the hot water and heating wer erratic Thank you.
I have seen consistently demonstrated exceptional skills. Staff have shared good examples of different situations delivering hands-on care to service users. Staff have a methodical approach and situations. I like how staff seek help, support, and guidance from management team. The staff have good empathy and good at imagining herself in other people's shoes and treat them with the compassion they deserve. The activity manager has good communication and has core skills. She is able to effectively communicate with colleagues and service users. Activity manager has the skill of respecting others she is respectful not only to service users but also to colleagues. She is good at listening and acknowledging client's opinions and wishes. Staff had good knowledge and understanding to complete her responsibilities to a high standard of care. The activity manager has natural leadership qualities. She played a crucial role in the home.
Good place - a bit "down at the heels" but very caring staff, and my wife seems very settled and happy. Food is good and nutritious. Whims of residents mostly catered to with good humour of the staff. Outside suppliers OK - hair and nails.
My friend has settled well in her new environment, she says all staff are caring. There was a list of activities for the month and it was nice to see a monthly church service as that means a lot to my friend. The home had a nice warm atmosphere.
