We chose Southampton Manor after viewing a number of Care Homes for my Dad and he became a resident in July 2025. I also received a couple of personal recommendations from friends who had relatives here. The first few weeks were really tough for us all emotionally but the staff here have been so
supportive especially to my Mum who visits every day. Dad is now on the Reminiscence Floor and the staff have been so kind and understanding. Southampton Manor has qualified nursing staff which was reassuring and important to us. The home is very clean and well organised with lovely areas like the Bistro and the Garden. There is a team of staff who organise activties and regular varied musical entertainment. Dad has generally settled well, is safe and well cared for at the home he enjoys the meals and often I stay and assist him. We have made lots of friends here staff, residents and their families which has helped so much. I have no hesitatiion in recommending Southampton Manor.

I had booked for a 2 week stay- after having HIP operation 3 days before coming into "the manor" home. The bed wasn't very comfortable, needed a better mattress or recovering- not suitable for a long stay. Couldn't reach to open windows.

We were concerned that Joe wouldn't settle in a care home, but right from day 1 he seemed happy and at home. The staff seem really friendly and helpful and on the few occasions he has needed urgent assistance, help was very quick to arrive. Facilities are generally very good although the mobility
scooter needs some repair, so he has his scooter in his room, which is not a problem.

Dad had been living independently and very active until approx 6 months before joining the Southampton Manor community. After a number of falls he made the decision that he needed to live somewhere where there was more help available. We visited several options but the reception from the staff at
the manor made it stand out and after 3 visits (to address questions) he signed up. He has never looked back. He is well looked after by amazing friendly and caring staff. Thank you.

I was impressed by the attention and compassion that my mother received in the final week of her life which she spent at Southampton Manor. The staff all treated her and her relatives with great dignity and respect. I know she would have appreciated that, as I and my siblings did.

I was extremely fortunate to be able to place my mum in Southampton Manor Care Home for the final months of her life. From my initial meeting with staff, through to the end, I was very impressed by the professionalism of all the staff. Mum received the most excellent care, which was sensitive to her
needs at all times. All staff looked after her with compassion, patience, dignity and tremendous kindness. I could not have wished for better care, and I would thoroughly recommend this care home.

We cannot thank Southampton Manor enough - Every care was given to dad. Also the time given to us as a family to discuss any needs for dad. Every member of staff was lovely to dad. The last years of dads life were very special - thank you all Southampton Manor.

Our mother was a resident at Southampton Manor Care Home on reminiscence for 9 months until she sadly passed away peacefully in her sleep.
From our initial meeting/being shown around by the Client Liaison Manager and mum's assessment in hospital with the Dementia Care Manager prior to becoming a
resident - We as a family knew this home was the right choice for mum. The nurses and carers on reminiscence were professional, kind and compassionate. The continuity of staff and sense of community really stood out to us. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they supported us many times throughout our journey with mum.
We would highly recommend Southampton Manor Home to anyone looking to place a loved one into a setting that offers peace of mind, a sense of belonging and wonderful staff that are trained in dementia care.

Mum had respite care which was very good . All the staff I dealt with were extremely caring , helpful and professional. Mum stayed in a room that was spotless , modern and comfortable . Mum absolutely loved the food which is of a really good quality .Good variety too.
I wouldn't hesitate to
recommend this care setting . The ratio of staff to residents is good too. Southampton Manor has lots of lovely activities daily , plenty of stimulating things to get involved in . The bistro is nice for visiting family too as well as residents . The place has a nice cosy vibe to it , plenty of space but the rooms are well equipped too depending on the type of suite you require.
A spacious garden that is easy to access which Mum enjoyed .
They have hairdressers , visiting doctors , exercise classes , music recitals , all sorts going on !
Mum was well looked after and safe with great care at all times . They were even able to accompany Mum to a medical appointment which was so helpful .
Thanks again

As a family our experience of Southampton Manor Care Home has been excellent. Most importantly our dad has felt happy and settled there. The staff are kind and patient and have always been friendly to us when we have visited. We've enjoyed joining in some of the activities with our dad- exercises,
flower arranging, quizzes and more and we have been able to take him our into the garden when the weather has been good enough. We've had lunch with him on several occasions for a small cost, so we know ourselves that the meals are tasty and well presented. My brother and I as next of kin have always been kept informed by the nurses about how our dad has been doing healthwise. All in all we feel that we made the best choice in helping him move to Southampton Manor Care Home.

When I came to that life changing moment with my Mum, of her needing the care offered by a professional Care Home, I was so grateful to find the amazing staff and facilities at Southampton Manor.
Over the last two months, Mum has benefitted so much from the expert nursing care given on the
Reminiscence level and is settled, comfortable and safe. Living alongside others was a big step for my Mum and all the staff have made it their mission to get to know her as a treasured individual, showing the kindness and respect which is such a hallmark of the community throughout the home.
At the beginning, everything was totally new to me and at Southampton Manor I found a group of people who listened and helped, and are still just so happy to offer ideas and support whatever their role is within this beautiful home.
It is a pleasure to visit and be included in the life of this beautiful place.

The decision to move a beloved mum to a care home is a tough one - but over a period of 6 months the Client Liaison Manager at Southampton Manor Care Home could not have been more helpful with queries, addressing concerns and implementation. Mum has settled in really well after 6 months and loves
her new routine with exciting daily activities, superb food and delightful staff all round. Nothing is too much trouble for staff and the community spirit is always in evidence. Thank you.

This is relating to the last few months of end of life care for my mother, which has had the most impact.
My mother has been treated with the upmost care, dignity and compassion from every member of the community who have supported her, also to myself. I have been visiting for 14 years and have
always felt welcomed at home. I am truly overwhelmed and humbled by the love, tenderness and support we shared together in my mum's last hours. Thank you.

The carers on Reminiscence floor went out of their way to take all the residents 3 floors down into the garden to enjoy ice cream in the sun as there was a wasps nests on the top floor balcony. It was hard work for them but they were cheerful and enthusiastic (as always). One resident stated "well
hasn't this been a lovely afternoon" I understand they have repeated this a number of times while the weather has been sunny. They are a wonderful bunch of staff on Reminiscence.
