View Full Details of Osbourne Court Care HomeMum moved into Osbourne Court in September of 2024 so has been there just under a year. Mum is a very independent person and taking the step to move into a care facility was not easy for her. From day one Mum and our family received a warm, caring and friendly welcome from all of the staff at Osbourne Court. Mum has settled in well and has now made new friends with other residents, she often says how well she is looked after and how happy she is there. Mum's mental and physical health has improved dramatically since she started living at Osbourne Court. We are always notified of anything going on with Mum and we always receive an answer to any questions or concerns we have about Mum. The Osbourne Court team is a happy one that works well together and it is reflected in the care they give to their residents. The peace of mind we have knowing that Mum is in such good hands is priceless.
We have nothing but praise for Osbourne Court. The caring staff are kind and thoughtful, the food is so good that Dad is bulking up again, his room is like his home and the common parts do not feel institutional. I like the fact that Dad is not treated like a child and it is expected that he should really feel as if he is in his own home - which he is. With help he can go outside and we can take him on outings at any time. I know he feels safe and well-cared for. He likes having male carers and they engage with him while they are caring. He has personal attention to help him to exercise and to keep his mind active. All really successful for him. As a family, we are thankful every day that Osbourne Court could accept him. We are confident that Osbourne Court are making this last period of his life a happy one .
Staff very helpful and caring. Always available to answer questions we may have. Home managed very well by the management team.
From the moment my mum moved into Osbourne Court, I knew she was in the right place. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and full of life. Every member of staff goes above and beyond to make residents feel safe, cared for, and valued. It's clear that they don't just see it as a job. The home itself is beautifully kept, clean, and comfortable, with a lovely, homely feel. There's always something going on activities, laughter, and friendly conversation and my mum has settled in far quicker than I could have imagined. She's eating well, smiling more and truly feels like part of the community. The staff are nothing short of amazing. They take time to understand each resident's needs, preferences, and personality, everyone is treated with patience, dignity and kindness. Communication with families is excellent. Knowing mum is in safe and loving hands is priceless. Osbourne Court is more than just a care home, it's a home full of heart. Thank you
My brother was in Osbourne Court for just over a year until his death in July. He was very happy there thanks to the staff who looked after him through his good times and the bad times with no complaints from us. staff were very friendly and always very helpful on visiting my brother they always made me welcome any health issues with him I was always contacted any time of the day and night a highly recommended care home with great staff thanks to you all on behalf of our family.
First visit in August, this time was around 10am. We found dad in the lounge in a wheel chair asleep and we did manage to wake him and over about 30 minutes we managed to get some interaction. During our time a staff member made him a cup of tea. My wife then cut his finger nails and checked his hearing aid batteries. We did visit his room to check on toiletries and to drop of a sensor floor mat, which we had been informed we needed to buy as the one he had been using was broken and had only been lent to him. We also donated a bag of DVDs for the residents, both these items were left in his room and a member of staff informed.
Mum became a resident in May25, and I became a Daughter again. Having been caring for Mum with her progressing dementia, we lost that relationship, and both of us felt alone and lost in it all. Osbourne Court and the wonderful staff are amazing, cannot express my gratitude enough. Mum has a fuller life, eating, sleeping better, and round the clock care and security, giving me peace of mind. Never an easy decision to make, moving a loved one into a home, but this has been best for Mum and my family. So be strong, pick up the phone and book a viewing, hope my review helps you on this path, all the best.
The experience of having a family member in Osbourne Court has been very good every team member has been excellent. The care home manager is very approachable and should we have any issues she will address and action when required The manager's team are very caring and approachable
My mother was in residential care at Osbourne Court in Baldock from November 2024 - May 2025. Mum was in the best of care to support her advanced dementia/Alzheimer's & elderly aging medical needs. The B&M Rose Model approach with individual care was incredibly supportive to Mum with her daily routine. Mum's overall residential experience was a happy one, she spoke about it often as the right place for her to be, expressed with a very big smile! Mum enjoyed making new acquaintances with other residents & "friendship buddies" with her carers. Exceptional managers offered informational guidance & support with administrative matters & relevant care concerns. It was reassuring my mother received invaluable quality care by professionally experienced, knowledgeable & kind-hearted caregivers and managers.
My elderly friend resided here for many years and was look after very well by the staff. I was always informed by the staff of any concerns that they had regarding my friend. It's a lovely care home which is undergoing current renovations which have made it look very luxurious and outside areas have been upgraded with outdoor furniture and shaded sitting areas. I was very happy knowing my friend was safe and secure here which meant alot to me.
My mum was a resident at Osbourne Court from May 2024. My mum wasn't the most sociable and preferred her own company but all the staff made her feel special and often had a laugh and a joke with her. Mum loved the food and ate better than she had done in years. Mum felt safe and cared for at Osbourne Court. The Management were very approachable they listened and responded to any queries we had.
Dad moved to Osbourne Court in January. Having lived his 90 years in South Manchester/Cheshire, this was a big move for him. We were concerned about his health over Christmas and were worried if such a big move was right for him. We needn't have worried. The level of care from the friendly team at Osbourne Court has exceeded my expectations. He is eating well, building up his strength again and now that he's only 10 minutes from me I can see him as often as I like. This is the best care home that Dad has stayed in and I am delighted.
Dad has very mixed needs and can be a tricky customer. He has stayed in a few care homes, but we wanted to move him closer to family and friends. Having visited a few places, we were disappointed with the options until, by chance, we came across Osbournes. From the first visit, we have been outstanded by the care, attention and compassion from all staff, not only towards Dad but his family and friends too. Dad has settled better than anywhere else he has stayed which is an achievement in itself. If we ever have an issue (which is only ever a small niggle) staff are quick to respond. We can't thank the manager and her amazing team enough. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Osbournes as a forever home. Yes, there is building work going ahead and not quite perfect yet but as a family we are very excited to see the place developing, can see the vision from management and more importantly the care and support Dad receives is A* from a team that is experienced, knowledgeable and passionate.
Great staff and good care. Food could be a bit better and hotter when served. Mum is happy here and likes the staff. More trips out would be nice. The garden is nice and well cared for. Also, a good amount of activities. I have given 4 stars as they have improved alot and I am looking forward to the room updates, but the main thing for needing looking at now is food.
My mother has dementia and has been staying at Osbourne Court for a number of years now. With the acquisition of the home by last year major renovation work on the home started almost immediately. A number of improvements have been undertaken which, when completed, will be fantastic. The new management are brilliant and the day-to-day care staff are wonderful even with all the upheaval going on around them. My mother is well looked after and treated with the utmost respect. I cannot thank them enough for all they do for her.
Dad is happy and well cared for at Obourne Court. His needs are met and he has friends to share life with. Because of the extensive building work, I find the home less clean than I would like to see it but as long as Dad is being cared for this is not of huge importance. Lots of activities happening, carers seem very genuine and they never appear to put on any pretense of being different when I visit no matter when I turn up. Happy with the communication from management. Keep up the good work.
My brother recently stayed at Osbourne Court for a six-day respite. We visited every day, and I can’t praise all the staff highly enough. Their dedication to the residents’ needs is second to none. Having to work under difficult times while major building refurbishment carries on, is a testament to their dedication. I would have no hesitation in my brother going back again, either for respite or full-time residential care. Thank you to everyone there.
My Dad has severe Dementia and has been living alone at home since Mum died in 2017. Whilst we were able to provide him with a good quality of life he was starting to fall and it became clear that he needed more support. B and M care at Osborne Court in Baldock in the very capable hands of the manager and her team have been wonderfully caring and supportive of us and Dad and he has now been there for 6 weeks. His quality of life has improved he has a lovely room with ensuite, activities throughout the day, and well-prepared nice food. More importantly, the staff are lovely and I feel relieved that he is in such a nice place to live. Although the home is in the middle of a refurbishment this does not impact the care provided and I look forward to the day when the refurb is complete as this will only enhance Dad's quality of life. Thank you B and M, the manager, and your team!
My mum has been at Osbourne Court for many years and even after the change in ownership, we are still happy with her care there. What makes this home is their staff: the care team are just that: caring, they got to know Mum very well and they look after her with professionalism and compassion. The home manager is a real asset to the home, her door is always open, she is competent, hard-working and really understands the needs of the residents. I cannot praise Osbourne Court highly enough, they are super!
Osbourne Court cared for my dad with absolutely wonderful kindness. He was resident for almost three years much of that time during various lockdowns. They always did their best to facilitate visits whenever possible. Everyone I met treated my dad with kindness and respect.
