View Full Details of Acacia House - TenterdenMy dad was admitted to Acacia House on September 5th with complex nursing and care needs. It was a difficult time for us, very emotional and distressing. I cannot praise the management team highly enough. They are exemplary. They have looked after Dad with professionalism and compassion: It is rare to find both these days, sadly. And the support and care they have extended to me has been over and above anything I have experienced before. Thank you!
My father spent almost a month at Acacia House during the last few weeks of his life. He was terminal and deteriorating fast but I can honestly say that despite the circumstances, both my father and I were thoroughly pleased with the team, his room and his overall care. From the moment my father arrived to the moment of his passing he was treated with dignity, respect and utmost care. The facilities are very clean and pleasant. The staff are patient and caring. They answered all of my questions and took the time to ensure I was kept in the loop with his treatment and medication. Overall, I am pleased with every aspect of his stay at Acacia House and would highly recommend it.
What a lovely place . My mum spent two weeks there . She loved it . Staff could not have been better . It was such a friendly and very caring home . I went on holiday without a worry . She has said if she ever has to back in she will only go there .
Exceptional, does not have unpleasant smells. Food terrific. Management knows what they are doing. Best care home I have ever been in.
Your excellent care rehabilitated my aunt, enabling her to go back home, with support.
Our aunt stayed for three weeks and said that she had found her stay very relaxing. The staff were friendly, helpful and lovely to be around, they made her feel very welcome. Her room had en-suite facilities and meant she was able to continue her independence at all times. The food was very good and a continuous supply of tea, biscuits and cake. Before the stay our aunt was very negative about staying but has now said that she would definitely stay there again if she ever needed to.
I found the staff to be cheerful and professional. On the rare occasions I wanted to discuss any subject ranging from obtaining equipment to food requirements both the nursing staff and senior management were approachable and responsive. When Dad had bouts of illness the staff communicated well and responded quickly to the situation. Dad's room was bright and airy and he settled in very quickly, forming a good bond with the staff. He found much happiness in his final few months and the family are grateful for the staff for making that possible.
My husband went in for respite care and sadly has not been able to come out. I have found every member of staff from the manager, admin, nurses, cleaners and all the wonderful carers to be engaged, cheerful and attentive to his and my needs. It is a pleasure to visit. My husband loves the home cooked meals and the surroundings are always clean and tidy. If I think I have a problem it is always dealt with speedily and with care.
We always feel mum is well cared for, looked after and safe. As her needs increase the home has adapted to meet them and we take comfort from the fact that although mum is getting worse she is in a caring and safe place. All the staff are polite and friendly.
My mother spent 2 weeks at Acacia House for respite. They couldnt have done more for her and us. Very kind, professional and attentive team. Cleanliness and health and safety spot on. I visited twice per day for 2 weeks and always witnessed first class care for my mother and other residents. It's homely and has a great atmosphere due to the wonderful care team. Always plenty of team members on hand. Always there to answer queries and provide support for us as a family.
I have chosen February as a month to review, but really this is for all of the past months because what the incredible staff do is consistent and give 100% to all the residents in Acacia House. every day. This has not changed since my mother came to stay in February 2023. In that time, my mother has been cared for in a kind and compassionate way . All the staff , from the managers , to the nurses, to the kitchen staff and caregivers are genuinely beautiful humans giving of themselves to help the residents on their journey. Thank you so much.
My mother has been a resident at Acacia House for the past year. During that time it has become apparent that my wife and I now have an extended family which we are so grateful for. From the management, nurses, carers, general staff including cooks, laundry maintenance to cleaning staff and gardener. I have nothing but praise for them all. My mother is generally in her room but am aware that one to one activities are maintained. A huge plus for my mother, would recommend Acacia House to all.
My brother and I are very happy with the care our mum receives. She has been at Acacia for two years. The staff are very caring, respectful and attentive. We are kept up to date with any changes in Mum's condition and our wishes are respected. Management is very kind and approachable and I believe the home to be well run. The food has improved over the two years and Mum is offered a balanced diet that is tailored to her needs. We're very happy with Acacia House.
From the moment you are met at the door you are made to feel welcome, all staff members are friendly and nothing is too much trouble, tea and coffee is always offered. My sister always looks well cared for and comfortable, her room is also clean and her personal possessions are treated with respect. I cannot speak highly enough of Acacia House.
My friend has been a resident at Acacia House for 17 months following a spell in hospital due to deteriorating health. From the time he arrived he has received excellent care from the dedicated and professional on site team. Although he remains in poor health he has improved greatly since his arrival which I feel is thanks to the care he receives. When I visit, there is always a homely feel to the property, helped by a warm welcome from the staff (along with a cup of coffee). Nothing is too much trouble when it comes to my friends care or in making me feel welcome when I visit. I am happy to recommend Acacia House to anyone in need of a Nursing Home that has a family feel and provides excellent care for its residents.
Acacia House are brilliant. Dad is end of life and has quite complex physical and mental health needs. They are making his final months dignified and less stressful for all of us. Their communication is brilliant, the care is brilliant, the medial support is brilliant. I really couldn't ask for more for Dad at this time.
Fantastic- best by far for the standard of care, efficiency and staffing levels. Great communication, nothing ever too much trouble. Cannot fault in any way whatsoever. I regularly visit care homes in my profession and there are very few that even come close to this one. Thank you, Acacia!
I always find the staff very helpful and attentive. When I visit I always get offered a drink and nothing seems to be much trouble. Mum always says she enjoys the food that's given to her. Thank you.
My Dad has been in Acacia for about a year, he really likes it as it has a homely feel. He was in a different care home previously which he didn't take to. But he does like this one. That gives me comfort and reassurance. From my perspective the staff are always welcoming, there is always a healthy proportion of staff and there are activities daily where participation is optional. There was a recent excursion to a war memorial venue near Folkestone which Dad attended and enjoyed. The staff are good at keeping in touch when decisions need to be made and can't be more helpful and accommodating.
This home is just so amazing. My mum is being cared for by this home and from staff to management they are all incredible. The level of care given to my mum, who is suffering from Alzheimer's, so can be difficult, never falters and they are always there to tend to my mum's needs. My family and I have total peace of mind knowing that she is safe and cared for.
