My husband has been a resident for some time now and receives excellent care. All the staff from the manager to the carers and the cleaners are welcoming and all greet you with a smile. He is now completely bed bound and the care he receives is second to none. Can't recommend them highly enough.

I viewed the home after having viewed 14 other care homes and was given the loveliest of welcomes by the care home Administrator Emily. It just had a real home from home feel from the start. Cristian the Care Home Manager, following my viewing was happy to travel to assess mum 70 miles away in a London hospital at very quick notice and a place offered the same day with her move in to care happening within a few days thereafter. Mum who has Dementia has been at Acacia now for 5 weeks and has been welcomed and supported by staff and residents. She is settling in gradually and has already made some wonderful friends. Her care plan is thorough and the nurses are supporting mum as well as myself and my sister, which is really appreciated at a time that is difficult. The carers are always smiling, residents always look clean and presentable. Overall, the right home and decision after a long search. A real home from home feel. My mother has been at Acacia House for several years now. She has dementia, a complicated illness which can be challenging for people around her to work with. The staff have been great in the way that they interact with her. Despite her not always being cooperative, the staff at Acacia House have been patient & understanding, which makes me feel like she is in good hands. They also do a good service in communicating with families of the residents. They have always called or emailed me if there anything they need ti update me with.
This is the second home my mother has been in & I can honestly say that Acacia House is by far a more homely & community driven place. I would be happy to recommend them.

I visited my sister in July 2026. I found the staff friendly and very helpful nothing seems to be to much trouble. My sister looked clean and well presented her room was also very clean and tidy. I have always found the staff at the home very professional they regularly phone or email me to keep me updated with any needs or health concerns regarding my sister, which gives me great peace of mind. On this occasion I was not present when it was a meal time so can not comment on the food ,however in the past it has always looked appetising and well presented. On the whole I am very pleased with this care home and feel my sister is well looked after and comfortable.

This home has offered excellent care and unwavering support to both our family and my Dad. I cannot praise this home enough. The whole team are truly special, lovely, polite and friendly and nothing is to much trouble, My Dad had a number of health issues and the nurses always kept me updated on everything, I never felt left out. The entertainment program was very engaging and Dad loved joining in with the activities. The management team were always approachable answering any queries regarding the more in depth questions relating to care. Dad loved it there and was very happy he made some lovely friends it was just unfortunate that we had to move him because of distance and funding.
I would thoroughly recommend.

I cannot praise this home enough, Everybody is lovely, polite and friendly nothing is to much trouble, My Uncle has dementia and has deteriorated a lot but the care there never faulters,

Nothing is to much trouble,my father in law is happy and well looked after,they even give us the big room when we have big family get together! Would recommend this care home to anyone!

My father spent almost a month at Acacia House during the last few weeks of his life. He was terminal and deteriorating fast but I can honestly say that despite the circumstances, both my father and I were thoroughly pleased with the team, his room and his overall care. From the moment my father arrived to the moment of his passing he was treated with dignity, respect and utmost care. The facilities are very clean and pleasant. The staff are patient and caring. They answered all of my questions and took the time to ensure I was kept in the loop with his treatment and medication. Overall, I am pleased with every aspect of his stay at Acacia House and would highly recommend it.

What a lovely place . My mum spent two weeks there . She loved it . Staff could not have been better . It was such a friendly and very caring home . I went on holiday without a worry . She has said if she ever has to back in she will only go there .

What sort of duties do you have at work?
Day-to-day managing of the home, ensuring that the highest quality of care is being offered to everyone as well as making sure that my residents and staff are happy.
What is your work experience/what are your qualifications in the care industry?
I started as a carer here in 2015, before qualifying for my UK PIN in 2016. I was then working as a nurse on both day and night shifts. I was then promoted to the position of Deputy Manager and lastly to that of Home Manager.

I like peace and quiet, watching films, cycling, playing football, going on long walks and exploring the world.
What do you enjoy about working in a Nursing Home?
The fact that we can make a difference, and we can be there for people in need.
What is your favourite thing about Acacia?
It feels like a second home, a place where you make sure everyone is being treated properly and they are happy. We have a really good team, and they all work together to ensure that everyone is being looked after.

What sort of duties do you have at work?
Supporting our home manager, Cristian, to ensure the smooth, effective service of the home! Other duties include being involved in looking after the residents' and staff's mental well-being by offering emotional support, friendship and advocacy.
What is your work experience / what are your qualifications in the care industry?
Previously worked for the NHS as 111 Health Advisor & Dental Practice Receptionist, also with a retail background in beauty, management, sales, marketing and training. I went to university and began studying Psychology and Counselling while living with my elderly grandmother and her partner, who had dementia. I have further qualifications in Counselling Skills and management, and I am currently studying Level 3 Health and Social Care. I have previously worked in another nursing home, but I left to join Acacia House as our Activities Coordinator, providing a range of diverse, inclusive, and person-centred activities suited to each and every resident, whether on a group basis or one-to-one. This also involved sourcing and booking Acacia's entertainment from external providers and arranging group outings to exciting places such as local farms, aquariums, coffee shops, and garden centres.
Tell us a little about yourself (hobbies/interests, etc.)
I'm always really pants at these autobiographical descriptions, but I would say something along the lines of "Hello, I'm Emily, easily excitable, passionate, empathetic and a people person. I love animals, especially cats and other small fluffy things, and I also have a daughter called Sasha who is 6 years old. Sasha loves to come to visit Acacia and refers to our residents as "The Grandmas and Grandpas" and enjoys getting involved with the activities, especially the arts and crafts club and our musical madness sessions. She has made some firm friends, and one of the "Grandpas" has taken her under his wing. Hobby-wise, I have a few, but I am usually happy to give anything a chance. But I do love swimming, reading, arts and crafts and chatting with a coffee. I have a keen interest in getting to know people, animals, psychology, and just making people happy, really. I'm not too sure what else to say!
What do you enjoy about working in a Nursing Home?
I love the togetherness between the residents and staff - it is a real team effort here - no day is the same, and it keeps me on my toes! I really treasure the ability to be able to make such a difference in people's lives, especially towards their last weeks, months or years - it is important to me that our residents feel valued, important, loved and respected and that they are enjoying their time here at Acacia.
What is your favourite thing about Acacia?
My favourite thing about Acacia is the friendly, family atmosphere. Everyone is loved and looked after as if they were our own grandparents/parents/siblings. The staff members are warm, approachable and genuine, which makes everyone feel at ease and very welcome - nothing is too much trouble, and everyone is eager to help out when needed.
