It is over a year since my Husband went into care and I have nothing but praise for Balgowan. All the staff are friendly and approachable and any concerns or issues are dealt with promptly. Themed days are a great social experience, the last one being Greece, traditional food is served with music and a quiz. I am very satisfied with my husband's care and the attention he receives at Balgowan.

My relative has been a resident of Balgowan House for two and a half years and has been very well looked after by the staff during this time. The home is clean and well run, with plenty of activities and entertainment in the lounge for the residents to participate in and enjoy.

One of the best care homes in the area frendly carving staff clean place good food and actives. Always made to feel welcome when I am there. Always try to help as much as I can when I am there.

Balgowan is a warm and friendly environment with a fantastic staff team that are compassionate, kind and patient. My dad loves Balgowan and often says 'I should have come here years ago.' My dad loves the banter with staff and all the activities, especially arts and crafts and the regular singers/groups that visit. My dad is genuinely happy and the staff are attentive and always available to discuss any issues or queries I have. I love the atmosphere and the open and honest ethos. I cannot thank the staff enough.

Mother has been staying at Balgowan for full year and has settled well. Very pleased with all aspects of the Home., Always a good atmosphere with long term staff and management. very good Care and Activity Staff, Nursing Staff and Catering. All areas, rooms and bathrooms very well kept. Good selection and standard of food. Regular activities and Singalongs. Mother celebrated her 105th Birthday there and a good time was had by all. Well done Balgowan Team.

Unfortunately I'm not able to visit as much as I would like but my sister seems to be very comfortable and content with her care. The staff are always on hand and ready to answer any questions I may have.

My Husband has been a resident for just over a year. In that time of huge change for us both he has adjusted really well & is quite settled which gives me great peace of mind. I know he is well cared for & safe. The staff are really great especially Mo who keeps him occupied which is exactly what he needs. Thank you Balgowan xx

My brother was moved to Balgowan after spending time at another care home where he had been placed by the NHS. We were not very happy with the care my brother was getting. After looking at other care homes Balgowan seemed a much better choice. My brother is a difficult resident due to his condition and requires lots of different types of care. The staff are all very patient and caring. I am kept informed of any changes or problems regarding my brother. I would would highly recommend Balowan to anyone looking for a care home.

I can tell you that the overall welfare of my mother over the last year has greatly improved and it is all down to the care that she is receiving at Balgowan House. The staff cannot do enough for her. She is fed and entertained and well looked after. Thank you.

My mum has been here a year now and I have nothing but praise. The staff are lovely and they must be happy working there as they mostly seem to have been there a long time. The home is spotless and has lots of light and an airy feel. It's a great location, there's parking right outside so I can easily take my mum out for a trip to Hythe.

The end of life care my mum is receiving is exemplary in all aspects. All members of staff are professional caring and welcoming. Standards of cleanliness are high and my mums room is always spotless. It truly is a lovely home and we are grateful and thankful she has been placed there.

Balgowan really do know how to care for the residents. A beautiful clean home with plenty of natural light and a very warm welcome always. Mum is comfortable and content in her surroundings which is the absolute bonus. It's is a very busy home, but there is always a way to speak to someone if you have questions. The staff are supremely compassionate and take great care of residents and families. This is my second time to place a loved family member into Balgowan's care, which hopefully speaks volumes. I don't know anywhere else I would trust to obtain the care at the levels we get here. They welcome feedback no matter what, which is a measure of the constant striving to be the best there is, and I know they are.

A nice nursing home but very busy. Staff very friendly but it's a waiting game especially at weekends if you need attention. I could do with more exercise with walking.

When I arrive the staff are always helpful and pleasant. My wife appears comfortable and not anxious. The staff are always very pleasant and my wife is always clean. Thank you.

On an overall experience, I would give Balgowan House 11/10. Excellent home. Lovely staff, very helpful in every way. Good home.

Normally the food is excellent. The vegetables are soft to eat and things are chopped small but when the cover cook is on, we notice the difference. I've noticed that lots of food goes in the bin then whereas usually, everything gets eaten. The staff are really helpful and kind, especially the activities coordinator.
