View Full Details of Betsy Clara House Nursing HomeMy dear friend Brian has been a resident at Betsy Clara for 2 years with Alzheimer's. The "challenging behaviour" his last care home reported seemed to disappear as he was warmly welcomed into the caring arms of Betsy's manager and her dedicated team. Despite visiting at random times, Brian has always appeared well presented and there is always staff available to watch all residents, nobody goes neglected. If that is not enough, The manager has taken time to check in on me whilst I've been unable to visit due to illness, as well as providing pictures and videos of the residents . Above and beyond!
Since my husband Robin has been at Betsy Clara, he has been treated with kindness and respect. I have never come across any member of staff that have not been caring all they can to make the residents happy and cared for.
My mum moved to Betsy Clara in May 2025 as the previous care home she was in could no longer meet her needs. Our first impression on arriving was what a lovely, bright and friendly place it was. Since she has been at Betsy Clara she appears to have settled in nicely and remarkably seems calmer. I'm sure this is down to the wonderful caring staff and the happy atmosphere of the home. Mums room is lovely, bright and tidy and mum herself always looks clean with her hair nicely done. She is eating a lot better too which is great! Although mum hasn't been there long, we as a family know she is getting the best care possible. A big, big thank you to all the staff at Betsy Clara. You are all angels!
Mum was transfered to Betsy Clara Nursing Home a few months ago due to a change in her needs. Since becoming a resident here there has been a notable improvement in her general health and well being. The previous care home she was in was clearly well below what could be considered to be of a decent standard. In short, the staff, facilities and general atmosphere at Betsy Clara Nursing Home are incredible! Thank you to all the staff for your care, understanding and commitment in improving mum's quality of life.
My mother was a resident at Betsy Clara for approximately three years. Although she had severe Dementia she was settled and happy there. Mum could be challenging at times and the team at Betsy handled these episodes extremely when. In the main mum was normally relaxed. As her Son I found Betsy to be very welcoming. All of the team I found to be passionate about providing the best care that they could. We could visit during the day at any time, obviously it's best to avoid meal times. The great thing was because we would arrive without the need to phone ahead and we visited in the communal lounge we could see just how well Betsy was being run. It was totally transparent, open and honest. Mum has now sadly passed, and I will always be grateful to the team for their passion and love that they showed my mum. Thank you for everything that you did.
My dad became a resident at Betsy Clara in February 2024 following the sudden passing of my mother. I cannot recommend Betsy Clara more highly. The staff are all so amazing, kind, caring and so loving to all the residents, and the peace of mind it has given me to know that my lovely Dad is so well looked after has been such a relief. Not only are they amazing for Dad, but they have been a continuous kind and caring support to me. I'm forever grateful that Dad is there, safe and as happy as he can be in his world. The weekly entertainment and activities are fantastic, and it's great to see Dad singing along or having a little dance with a big smile on his face. I can't thank everyone enough for everything they do. Truly amazing people.
My husband has been at Betsy Clara House Nursing Home for just over eighteen months. It is so nice to be able to leave him and know the staff will not only look after him but love him as well. It is home from home.
I would highly recommend Betsy Clara House Nursing Home. Mum was here just over two years until she died in May 2024. The staff are caring and looked after Mum extremely well. They managed her Alzheimer's changing behaviour and needs. Mum enjoyed the at least weekly singers and other related music activities. The home caters for all but does splendidly for those with dementia. Many thanks to everyone at Betsy Clara who looked after Mum and our family so well. It is very much appreciated.
I found the home clean, warm and inviting. The staff are friendly and the food is good. They have a variety of equipment to lift, bathe and help the residents move. Security for the residents is good and their safety is well catered for.
Highly recommend. My father came here in December, a very poorly man, who needed a lot of help and support with just about everything. The staff, without exception, were all really kind, patient and caring with Dad. Nothing was rushed, his dignity respected, and he was well cared for throughout his stay. Many thanks to all who looked after him; it is very much appreciated.
My mum joined Betsy Clara from the hospital after she had a couple of serious falls from another care home, the last one resulting in a broken hip. She was very unwell and bedbound when she arrived. Over the last couple of months, through the care and support she has received, she now spends most mornings downstairs and can join in the activities if she wishes. As Mum has Alzheimer's, she can't really tell me much but has said the staff are very good and look after her. She always looks clean and has plenty to eat. The staff are always friendly, and you always see them taking the time to chat with the residents, even painting the female resident's nails every week. It's the little things like this that show they care. The home may not look like a hotel like the other homes Mum was in, but it's the care that is the most important thing.
This is a review from my brother and I. My father has been here for a while. He is left on his bed lying in urine for a long time, no bed covers on him, the curtain closed at 1.30 pm, the door half closed, the room was so dirty and untaken tablets on the floor, I have seen dog kennels cleaner than this. My father's hands and legs were covered in human faeces, and dried faeces on my father's urine bottle. Tell me where is the care, and this is every time we go there.
We, as a family, are really impressed with Dad's care. The carers are all very friendly and helpful. Dad seems very happy.
My husband has been a resident since September 2022. I have always been impressed by the kindness and attention given to him. The management have always been helpful. The carers and other staff have always shown their best when helping my husband.
My sister was first admitted to Betsy Clara House Nursing Home in February 2021 after suffering a bad fall and on the verge of being diagnosed with Lewy Body dementia and Parkinson's. This was confirmed shortly afterwards, my sister was very happy at Betsy Clara and before she got too ill, loved to join in all the activities there. She got on well with all the staff who go above and beyond in caring for every one of the people living there. The home is very clean, with good healthy meals and a friendly atmosphere. I couldn't have wished my sister to have ended up in a nicer place.
My Mum has been at Betsy Clara House Nursing Home since December 2021 after she deteriorated and couldn’t live at home anymore, the care and love the staff have shown her especially more recently has been absolutely amazing. When she first moved in they got her up, into the lounge and joining in the activities, more recently while she has been poorly they have shown love and kindness to the whole family, nothing has been too much trouble and when we haven’t been there she’s had someone sitting with her. The home might need a bit of love but the residents don’t, they are all well loved and looked after.
My Mum was welcomed to Betsy Clara in December 2022. We are delighted with the excellent care she is receiving there. The management, nursing and care team are welcoming, caring and nothing is too much trouble. We were very soon part of the Betsy Clara family! Mum is safe and well looked after and treated with dignity. Every effort is made to encourage Mum to eat and drink and find out her likes and dislikes to maintain her weight. Betsy Clara has ensured that Mum has some structure to her day and there is always some activity going on which she can participate in if she chooses. Every event is celebrated and made to be a special occasion which is so lovely to see. Thank you so much Betsy Clara. You are all amazing!
My partner's grandmother moved here after a poor experience at another care home and showed an immediate improvement. The staff are all lovely and so good with all the residents, you can tell they really care! The kitchen staff put a lot of effort in and will often make her something else if she doesn't fancy what's on offer. I always feel very welcome when visiting, very pleased she's now being so well looked after.
Just would like to say how lovely everyone is and how good they are with my dad and all the other residents. I always feel welcome and feel happy my dad is here. The kitchen staff are always there to help too.
My dad has been here for 6 months under NHS-funded CHC after a fall at home We had been providing his care prior to this. We have all been happy with the level of care he has received and feel he has done exceptionally well due to the care provided. The staff are excellent and you can see the compassion and professional way they treat the residents. My dad responds well to them because of the way he is treated and because of the activities taking place. Betsy Clara is well-managed and all our requests and enquiries are dealt with promptly. All the staff, from top to bottom, are lovely and can't do enough for Dad or his family. Betsy Clara is excellent in every respect.
