Do not send your relatives to this care home. I had to remove my husband over several safeguarding concerns. He care was appalling.
I am concerned for all the other residents that cannot speak for themselves. This home needs urgent official review.

My mum was at Ferendune court from 2021 until April this year. In her 5 years she was at Ferendune she was locked after really well, the staff there were very kind and caring and compassionate towards my mum, and she was very happy there she sadly passed away in April, but I have fond memories of my
visits with her she was always happy and smiling and always pleased to see me, some of the staff very kindly came to her funeral which I appreciated very much. My mum was treated with respect and dignity and her care was excellent the home is a very welcoming place and it's always clean and tidy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ferendune court to elderly people as the care that they receive is exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate like extend my sincere gratitude for looking after my mum so well as this gave me so much comfort and peace of mind to know she was safe and happy there.

Care is very good - Food is not always suited to the taste of the elderly.

My mum has been in Ferendune for nearly two years, and she has had the most lovely care. She is warm, clean, and happy (in her own way, as she has dementia). The carers are lovely, and they always look after Mum's needs.
Every day, there is some activity going on, so she has stimulation, which
helps her. She used to get a lot of infections (chest mainly), but now hardly any, so I would recommend Ferendune to anyone who is looking for a home for their loved ones.

All staff are lovely, very helpful. The entrance looks amazing inside and out. They do a brilliant job, whatever their role. But I do think the food could improve with more fresh veg instead of mostly frozen.

We were celebrating a friend's birthday. A friend had taken some food. But staff also supplied biscuits, fudge, etc. Whenever I visit, I'm always impressed by the care and cleanliness.

Visited for a tea party. Staff were very kind and supportive of the resident and visitors. Building was comfortable, clean and obviously very well maintained.
A good positive experience.

The staff in all departments have a lovely, caring nature. I feel safe and happy in the home. Foos is lovely and has plenty of choice.

I am appalled on how frequently the lack of communication with myself was managed. I was rarely informed of my father's falls and each time I visited, I found another cause for concern regarding deteriorating health issues like bruises and skin discoloration which no one had noticed.
At my last
visit I found out that I had purposely been ignored on my emails as it was instructed by the senior management team to not respond when I was just asking for a meeting to discuss what was happening with his health care.
I have had no apology to what I witnessed and no care to my distress. I now don't want to visit my father because they did not manage the situation at the time and since I have asked for clarification.
I don't want others to go through the same experience as the care home staff lack knowledge in the mental capacity act, and how to include close relatives in the care plan. I am sincerely disappointed.

My wife has been resident at Ferendune Court for 20 months. She has vascular dementia so has very little cognition which affects her ability to communicate clearly. She also has mobility issues and is generally transferred by wheelchair.
The staff and carers at Ferendune are 100% committed to
providing a homely, safe and loving environment. The range of abilities and disabilities they have to manage must be really demanding. However, along side their daily duties of personal care, catering, serving, managing medications, monitoring health, etc. they still find the energy and exhuberance to provide a wide range of activities that all able residents can enjoy and get involved in.
I can visit anytime of the day and I am treated as one of the community. Sometimes we will sit in her flat other times in one of the communal lounges.
To see how she is cared for and the fact she is generally smiling or laughing just like she always did puts my mind at rest.

I came into Ferendune on respite at very short notice - 6 hours - with my husband, who has dementia, after an accident. I was shown so much care and concern about everything - nothing was a problem, and they always checked again to make sure. Their care to other residents was very obvious, as they
would treat their own families. They even produced a cake on January 1st for our wedding anniversary. Stayed 5 weeks.

To date a very good service provided. Thank you.

Since my father-in-law has been at Ferendune Court care home Faringdon - I have been very pleased with the care he has received. I visit at random times regularly and every time I have been happy with the care and support received to my father-in-law and to us. The house keeping and food is
exemplary. There is always some activity going on which we can participate at any time.

Mum resided at Ferendune Court in Faringdon for the last two years of her life. She was very happy there. Nothing was too much trouble. There were outings to the seaside, garden centres, wildlife parks, boat trips, coffee at the local library. Performers would attend regularly to sing and
perform plays or pantomimes. Mark (one of the carers) played the keyboard every Monday where staff and residents would sing and dance. The Music Man brought his CD collection in on a Wednesday. Animals also feature heavily with visits from Shetland Ponies, farm animals and creepy crawlies. The staff were so kind and despite their busy schedules, always had time to stop and chat. The last month for Mum was made so much easier by the kindness and compassion she and our family received and meant that Mum's passing was very peaceful, in her own room, surrounded by her family and supported by everyone at Ferendune Court. Thank you so much to each and every member of staff at Ferendune Court

Moving a parent into a care home is not always the choice you think you will end up making with them. The team at Ferendune Court have been incredible. Their care never turns off. They are constantly entertaining and making sure the residents are happy. My mum is very settled. I would highly
recommend Ferendune Court and the team here.
