View Full Details of Huntercombe Hall Care HomeMy father was a resident at Huntercombe for two years up until his passing. The kindness, care and attention he received was exemplary. With such a wonderful building, decor and surroundings it provides a lovely atmosphere. The family enjoyed visiting and and seeing him well cared for. It's very humbling to see the compassion and patience of all the staff. We will always be thankful in knowing that Dad was in the best hands for his final years.
My Mother in law was with you for dementia care, she was happy there, the staff were all very kind and very fond of her, we visited on a regular basis she was always dressed smartly and looked well cared for. she enjoyed her coffee and cakes and ate her meals well, sometimes she had two breakfasts. she had a good relationship with the nurses and carers and other staff, she had a good sense of humor and staff interacted well with her. she loved to sit and look out into the gardens and walk around inside the house to get her exercise. she liked to sit near the reception area as she enjoyed being with people. The staff were very patient with her and calmed her when she became agitated. We found Huntercombe to be a very homely care home and a wonderful building. It was always good to see the residence and staff when they joined in and dressed up for events, she enjoyed the music and activities. As a family we were cared with her when she was passing.
Really enjoyed the circus summer fete and my mother had the best time ever! The team are really great here, they really make the residents lives meaningful. The manager is always kind and attentive .Thank you for the wonderful day!
Upon visiting my Nan in the facility I was very impressed with the cleanliness, the positive and welcoming attitude of the staff and how well my Nan was cared for. You could see the mutual respect between the staff and my Nan and they were always looking to see what they could do to assist, whilst also looking out for the visiting family members. Having seen the property and the room that my Nan was staying in, again I could see the care taken into ensuring she was staying in a clean and comfortable facility. I have been very impressed by what I have seen during my visit here.
My great nan is very happy and settled at Huntercombe. The staff are all very friendly, welcoming and the home is very clean. She gets to have days out, and does lots of different activities. Everyone ensures the residents are treated with respect, kindness and dignity.
The care home is clean, comfortable and welcoming. Staff are friendly, communicative and care for my father who has dementia with great kindness. The grounds and communal areas are well kept and inviting, offering spaces to socialise. Meals are nutritious with a varied choice. My father goes through unsettled stages due to his disease progression and at times of illness, but at the moment he is happy, relaxed and well supported, which gives me great peace of mind.
My mother in law has been at Huntercombe Hall for 15months & I can honestly say she settled so quickly & is doing very well. It is managed very very well & the care is excellent. Huntercombe has a very warm & welcoming atmosphere. The staff are always friendly & nothing is too much trouble for them. They go above and beyond
Mum has been here for nearly 2 years. Staff retention means that almost all staff are permanent and longstanding. They all know Mum really well and are always kind and caring. I feel really pleased that mum is here, safe and looked after. The team put on lots of activities, and the food is great.
I have found the home very friendly. Staff are always helpful. Good that we can help ourselves to tea, coffee, cake, etc, anytime. The sunlounge is a very pleasant place to sit and chat. Also, the library on the colder days.
My Father is currently in hospital, but my mother who is a resident at Huntercombe Hall Care Home was due to have an x-ray at the same hospital. The deputy manager was extremely thoughtful and went out of her way to take her to see my father who was so pleased to see her as he missed going to see her. This is something that Huntercombe Hall Care Home makes them stand out from the rest. Nothing is a problem as everyone is always will to help and accommodate anyway that they can. So pleased that she is being looked after so well and more important she is very happy there! Thank you
My mother has been very happy here and feels it is her home. Communication could be better.
I can not think of a better place for my mother to receive the right care in her twilight years. The team there are attentive, helpful and patient, and the residents are treated with respect. I have noticed a genuine improvement in her mood and well-being over the last year or so since she entered Huntercombe, and there are lots of regular daily activities to keep the residents engaged, as well as special events (fetes, celebrations, etc) for them to look forward to. As I live overseas I can only visit occasionally, so I call quite often, and the staff will always take the time to locate her and put me through, often also giving me a quick update. I understand that soon they will have the facility to arrange video calls via Zoom etc which will be a big help.
I am very grateful for the care and patience my mother is shown at Huntercombe Hall. The home has improved a lot since she has been there and is still improving. They have a great team. Many of them go above and beyond. I would say it is very well-led.
Lovely newly decorated, spacious room with great countryside views. Extremely comfortable bed which can be adjusted for maximum health and well-being. Large walk in shower room. Very friendly and helpful staff. All medical needs attended to. Other facilities good with conservatory and other rooms for eating and relaxing. Garden and patio terrace well maintained. Food is not always to my fathers taste but the staff are trying to address this with the manager and chef listening to my fathers comments. Plenty of activities but again not always to my father's liking. Majority of residents seem to enjoy them.
Lovely room, very comfortable with a great view of countryside. Carers very friendly and good almost all the time. Dining with other residents a bit regimented for my liking, but very happy to eat in the conservatory or in my room. Most activities not to my taste, but I would like to go out on trips when available. Food - 33% good, 33% ok, and 33% not very good, but staff & cook are trying to improve this for me.
Very pleased & very happy.
My grandmother has been here for over a year now and loves her new home. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming when myself and family come to visit. The home and grounds are stunning and always kept clean and tidy. As a family, we will always be thankful for the care, compassion and dignity shown for my grandmother throughout this chapter of her life.
We are so pleased with the care our grandmother receives at Huntercombe. There is always a wide variety of activities and entertainment to keep her engaged! Everything from music sessions and crafts to quizzes and themed events. She is always telling us how much fun she is having, and it's clear the staff put a lot of effort into making life enjoyable for the residents. Knowing she is happy, active (specially on Wednesdays with fitness instructor), and well cared for means the world to us!
My mother became a resident in April 2025. She is settling in very well. The home is very peaceful and the setting and environment very good. Care has been excellent and the staff are all wonderful. My mother is very happy with the food and likes her (small) room, which was recently re-furbished. The cleanliness is first class. The home is very well run and the staff cannot do enough for the residents. Under new ownership the home continues to improve.
The team is professional, patient, kind and cheerful and make the residents' days happy and comfortable. The food is good and there are plenty of activities and special celebration days. Families and visitors are welcomed warmly.
