View Full Details of Huntercombe Hall Care HomeMy mother has been very happy here and feels it is her home. Communication could be better.
I can not think of a better place for my mother to receive the right care in her twilight years. The team there are attentive, helpful and patient, and the residents are treated with respect. I have noticed a genuine improvement in her mood and well-being over the last year or so since she entered Huntercombe, and there are lots of regular daily activities to keep the residents engaged, as well as special events (fetes, celebrations, etc) for them to look forward to. As I live overseas I can only visit occasionally, so I call quite often, and the staff will always take the time to locate her and put me through, often also giving me a quick update. I understand that soon they will have the facility to arrange video calls via Zoom etc which will be a big help.
I am very grateful for the care and patience my mother is shown at Huntercombe Hall. The home has improved a lot since she has been there and is still improving. They have a great team. Many of them go above and beyond. I would say it is very well-led.
Lovely newly decorated, spacious room with great countryside views. Extremely comfortable bed which can be adjusted for maximum health and well-being. Large walk in shower room. Very friendly and helpful staff. All medical needs attended to. Other facilities good with conservatory and other rooms for eating and relaxing. Garden and patio terrace well maintained. Food is not always to my fathers taste but the staff are trying to address this with the manager and chef listening to my fathers comments. Plenty of activities but again not always to my father's liking. Majority of residents seem to enjoy them.
Lovely room, very comfortable with a great view of countryside. Carers very friendly and good almost all the time. Dining with other residents a bit regimented for my liking, but very happy to eat in the conservatory or in my room. Most activities not to my taste, but I would like to go out on trips when available. Food - 33% good, 33% ok, and 33% not very good, but staff & cook are trying to improve this for me.
Very pleased & very happy.
My grandmother has been here for over a year now and loves her new home. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming when myself and family come to visit. The home and grounds are stunning and always kept clean and tidy. As a family, we will always be thankful for the care, compassion and dignity shown for my grandmother throughout this chapter of her life.
We are so pleased with the care our grandmother receives at Huntercombe. There is always a wide variety of activities and entertainment to keep her engaged! Everything from music sessions and crafts to quizzes and themed events. She is always telling us how much fun she is having, and it's clear the staff put a lot of effort into making life enjoyable for the residents. Knowing she is happy, active (specially on Wednesdays with fitness instructor), and well cared for means the world to us!
My mother became a resident in April 2025. She is settling in very well. The home is very peaceful and the setting and environment very good. Care has been excellent and the staff are all wonderful. My mother is very happy with the food and likes her (small) room, which was recently re-furbished. The cleanliness is first class. The home is very well run and the staff cannot do enough for the residents. Under new ownership the home continues to improve.
The team is professional, patient, kind and cheerful and make the residents' days happy and comfortable. The food is good and there are plenty of activities and special celebration days. Families and visitors are welcomed warmly.
Very happy here. Everyone is lovely. Very good staff.
I attended an informal talk on dementia, which was organised by the care home where my wife is a resident. The talk was chaired by the care home dementia champion, who was very informative on the subject, giving the outlines of types of dementia, symptoms and overview of what the type of dementia is like for the sufferer. The talk was very informative whilst not being over technical and there was plenty of opportunities to ask questions on my wife's condition and got the answers in plain English. refreshments were provided and the atmosphere was informal but structured. In all the talk lasted two hours and I would highly recommend this to anyone who has a friend or relative who suffers from dementia.
I'm extremely pleased with the care my aunt receives at Huntercombe Hall Care Home. The staff are not only highly professional but incredibly warm and compassionate, making my aunt feel at home. The facility is clean, comfortable, and bright, with a great range of activities to keep her engaged. The food is fantastic, with a good variety, and they cater to her dietary needs with great attention. I also appreciate the regular communication with me and the genuine interest they show in her well-being. I feel reassured knowing she's in such good hands. S.M.
I live abroad and only visit my great-aunty once a year and it's such a relief to know that she is so well looked after. The staff are very kind and very thoughtful! The pace is so well decorated and feels very comfortable!
Overall, I am extremely pleased with the care provided. My uncle is not only safe but also receives exceptional attention and support. It brings me great peace of mind knowing he is in such good hands!
Very happy with everything that Huntercombe Hall do for my mum. All very good at what they do and the care they receive.
It wasn't a hard decision choosing Huntercombe Hall for my Nan, as soon as we walked in everything felt right. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff are all so friendly and so very caring. Nanny settled very quickly and has made some lovely friends. She is enjoying the activities especially colouring, and has even started knitting again.
Lovely home, the residents are really well looked after. The House keeping is up to scratch, clean and tidy! Management and staff are very friendly and helpful. Activity's offer a great service of fun and happy games including exercise.
Lovely care home. Staff are very caring to residents and myself. My mum has late stage dementia, so her needs are great. I feel that she is looked after like one of the family. Staff tell me about problems she has, so I feel informed. My father recently died and they have been so kind to me and I really appreciate their support.
My uncle has been staying in this care home and the staff and management are very helpful with everything. Any concerns we have had have been dealt with straight away. I would just like to thank you all for the great work you all do.
