Huntercombe Hall Nursing and Care Home is an elegant Victorian Manor House, providing residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 42 elderly residents, including trial stays, short stays, convalescent care and long-term care for individuals or couples.

Located over two floors, each ensuite room has a charming, welcoming atmosphere and an accessible lift links the ground and first floor. The home is a stunning Victorian property that has been sympathetically converted to a care home of distinction, stooped in history and provenance.

The stunning grounds surrounding Huntercombe Hall provide a haven of wildlife and are an idyllic location for residents to relax. The home sits within extensive beautifully landscaped gardens with level lawns, ideal for residents and visitors to enjoy when the weather permits. The home is located in the beautiful village of Nuffield, close to the picturesque towns of Nettlebed, Wallingford and a 15 minute drive from Henley on Thames. Just off the A4130, Huntercombe is well located for shops, facilities and amenities whilst enjoying views over rural countryside and woodland.

Staff at the home are as compassionate as they are experienced, and specialist training allows them to offer the highest standards of care to all residents, including those living with dementia. They work hard to establish an environment where residents feel comfortable, and plan activities to help keep them engaged and enjoying each day.

My husband, Graham, has been staying at Huntercombe Hall Care Home for the past months, and I am very happy and grateful for the level of care he receives. The staff are always kind, patient, and attentive to his needs.
They communicate with me regarding keeping me informed about his health and daily
activities.
The home is clean, well organised, and has a warm atmosphere. I especially appreciate how the team encourages residents to take part in activities, which has had a positive impact on his mood and wellbeing overall. I feel confident that he is safe and well looked after, and I would recommend Huntercombe Hall to other families.

My husband entered Huntercombe Hall for end of life care at the end of October 2025. He died on 16th December. I visited him everday and the care he received was wonderful. I was happy to leave him every day knowing he would be looked after with kindness and professionalism. He had a lovely room which
we were encouraged to personalise with pictures and plants, etc. Efforts were made to try to encourage him to eat the things he particularly liked, and his pain management was very good.
Reply from Rowen Campbell, on behalf of the team at Huntercombe Hall Care HomeWe are all so sorry for your loss. It was an honour and a privilege to be able to care for your husband at that point in his life, and we are glad that we able to give you some reassurance too that he was in good hands. If there is ever anything more we can do for you, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

My father was a resident at Huntercombe for two years up until his passing. The kindness, care and attention he received was exemplary. With such a wonderful building, decor and surroundings it provides a lovely atmosphere. The family enjoyed visiting and and seeing him well cared for. It's very humbling
to see the compassion and patience of all the staff. We will always be thankful in knowing that Dad was in the best hands for his final years.

My Mother in law was with you for dementia care, she was happy there, the staff were all very kind and very fond of her, we visited on a regular basis she was always dressed smartly and looked well cared for.
she enjoyed her coffee and cakes and ate her meals well, sometimes she had two breakfasts.
she
had a good relationship with the nurses and carers and other staff, she had a good sense of humor and staff interacted well with her.
she loved to sit and look out into the gardens and walk around inside the house to get her exercise.
she liked to sit near the reception area as she enjoyed being with people.
The staff were very patient with her and calmed her when she became agitated.
We found Huntercombe to be a very homely care home and a wonderful building.
It was always good to see the residence and staff when they joined in and dressed up for events, she enjoyed the music and activities.
As a family we were cared with her when she was passing.

Upon visiting my Nan in the facility I was very impressed with the cleanliness, the positive and welcoming attitude of the staff and how well my Nan was cared for. You could see the mutual respect between the staff and my Nan and they were always looking to see what they could do to assist, whilst also
looking out for the visiting family members.
Having seen the property and the room that my Nan was staying in, again I could see the care taken into ensuring she was staying in a clean and comfortable facility. I have been very impressed by what I have seen during my visit here.

The care home is clean, comfortable and welcoming. Staff are friendly, communicative and care for my father who has dementia with great kindness.
The grounds and communal areas are well kept and inviting, offering spaces to socialise. Meals are nutritious with a varied choice.
My father goes through
unsettled stages due to his disease progression and at times of illness, but at the moment he is happy, relaxed and well supported, which gives me great peace of mind.

My Father is currently in hospital, but my mother who is a resident at Huntercombe Hall Care Home was due to have an x-ray at the same hospital. The deputy manager was extremely thoughtful and went out of her way to take her to see my father who was so pleased to see her as he missed going to see her.

This is something that Huntercombe Hall Care Home makes them stand out from the rest. Nothing is a problem as everyone is always will to help and accommodate anyway that they can.
So pleased that she is being looked after so well and more important she is very happy there!
Thank you

I can not think of a better place for my mother to receive the right care in her twilight years. The team there are attentive, helpful and patient, and the residents are treated with respect. I have noticed a genuine improvement in her mood and well-being over the last year or so since she entered Huntercombe,
and there are lots of regular daily activities to keep the residents engaged, as well as special events (fetes, celebrations, etc) for them to look forward to. As I live overseas I can only visit occasionally, so I call quite often, and the staff will always take the time to locate her and put me through, often also giving me a quick update. I understand that soon they will have the facility to arrange video calls via Zoom etc which will be a big help.

Lovely newly decorated, spacious room with great countryside views. Extremely comfortable bed which can be adjusted for maximum health and well-being. Large walk in shower room. Very friendly and helpful staff. All medical needs attended to. Other facilities good with conservatory and other rooms for
eating and relaxing. Garden and patio terrace well maintained. Food is not always to my fathers taste but the staff are trying to address this with the manager and chef listening to my fathers comments. Plenty of activities but again not always to my father's liking. Majority of residents seem to enjoy them.

Job Title: Home Manager

Catia is our home manager at Huntercombe Hall, here’s a little bit more about her role at the home in her own words:

“My role requires a blend of leadership, empathy, and strong organisational skills to maintain a high standard of care and operational excellence.

I bring over 13 years of clinical experience in healthcare, during which I have had the privilege of working in various care settings. My background includes acute nursing, community, palliative, dementia, and care management.

During the past 12 years, I have worked predominantly in nursing homes. I have always been deeply committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care that truly enhances the lives of residents.

I am passionate about care standards and making a positive impact on the day-to-day experiences of our residents. My goal is to foster an environment that is not only safe and supportive but also enriching and joyful.

Henley-on-Thames combines a natural beauty, a strong community spirit, and a wealth of cultural experiences making it a truly delightful place to visit or live. I live in Wokingham, but I visit Henley-on-Thames regularly with my partner. The town is full of historical charm and the cultural attractions are beautiful.”
