The staff were excellent, friendly, caring and fun. The food varied when the main chef cooked it was good, when the second chef was on, not so good.

Everyone who helped care for my mother at Southerndown treated her with dignity and compassion. More importantly, the genuine kindness shown from all the hardworking staff was exceptional.

The food is very good quality and tasty. The atmosphere and enviroment is so friendly and welcoming. All the staff are so kind and happy to help. The carehome has such a warm luxury feeling so hygienic and calm for all. Overall my grandad has felt so comfortable and happy for his week stay here. I would reccommended to anyone looking for a place for there loved ones. Thankyou for looking after my grandad so well.

Amazing staff so attentive caring and understanding manager is so helpful and cannot do enough for you or the residents. My friend is so happy here and so pleased we have found somewhere to care and stimulate him

My dad was only in the home for 5 days before he passed away, but we felt he was in the best place. The home was calm & peaceful, and his room was bright and clean. The staff were lovely, caring both for my dad & the family who came to visit. They made his sad end as comfortable and peaceful as possible. We are all very grateful.

What a wonderful experience for my friend. He came from the hospital and now lives in and is cared for by Southerndown. They were so very caring and kind and my friend was made so very comfortable! Thank you so much. We were also made to feel very happy about everything.

Our mother has lived in Southern Down since October 2023. We have been really happy with her care here. All of the staff are so caring and friendly. Our mother has been very happy and well cared for - the carers and nurses are all lovely, as are the reception staff and managers. The activity coordinators are fantastic and run a great personalised programme throughout the week - we are impressed how they involve residents with all sorts of needs (our mother has dementia among other things). They are also very good at communicating with us as a family. Would recommend!

All the staff have been very kind and thoughtful to my father-in-law. Each time he comes home from a respite stay with you my father-in-law sings your praises with tears in his eyes and says that if ever we need him to live in a care home he would be very comfortable to return to Sotherndown Care Home where all staff are so kind.

This home has a lovely atmosphere of loving care. There has evidently been much attention to detail in the decor inside and the growing vision for the patio garden. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the staff in their attitude to both residents and visitors. We came down from Scotland to see our friend and we're so glad we did. Great visit!

Warm, extremely welcoming + friendly atmosphere throughout. All staff exceptionally caring, thoughtful, patients and kind. Affectionate as well. A wonderfully hospitable care home with delicious, nourishing food. Superb nursing care + expertise. A highly commendable, professional team with excellent management and admin and reception.

I visited Southerndown Care Home yesterday for the first time. I was made exceptionally welcome by several different members of staff and was very impressed by the renovations that have been done over the past year. Each area is themed which I am sure helps the residents feel at home, nothing seemed too much for the staff to deal with. I was surprised at the standard of the rooms both the residents own rooms and the communal rooms. My, obviously outdated, thoughts on what a Care Home is like couldn't be more incorrect as far as Southerndown is concerned.

My wife and I were most impressed by the facilities and care at Southerndown. The staff were experienced and kind. We were most impressed by the ability of the staff to reduce my sister's pain levels that she had endured for many months, if not years. Thank you for your service.

Thank you for providing the care and support to my Grandfather that he needed. As a family we felt like Southerndown was his extended family. My Grandfather was always happy and well cared for. He never complained and was very greatful for all the staff at the care home. Thank you for your love and kindness over the years.

My grandad arrived during Covid and settled in well. He formed strong bonds with the staff and felt well cared for. As a family we are grateful to everyone at Southern Down for looking after him so well and providing him with the nurture and love he required. Thank you.

We brought our cousin to visit her sister at Barchester Southerndown Care Home. We all had lunch together in a special room on our own. We had a very good lunch and a lot of different staff popped in to see if we were all right, including the chef. This home looks to be of a very high standard and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Our cousin appears happy and content here.
