View Full Details of Barchester Corrina Lodge Care HomeMy mother became a resident at Corrina Lodge in January 2023. Initially we were very impressed by the care she was given. She was welcomed by everyone: carers, admin, nurses, catering staff, premises staff and especially management, she knew who everyone was. She is less settled now because 'there have been so many changes', she says there are not enough staff to manage everything & everyone. I have noticed this. There has been an effort to recruit more residents but staff levels have dropped and management skills, relationships have definitely declined. Value for money - TOO EXPENSIVE
Auntie was so well looked after. She enjoyed the food immensly. Well happy. Staff can't be more helpful or cheery.
My experience initially was "what a lovely friendly home" my mother was happy - a family feel to the place in January 2023. Now my experience is the opposite. Not enough staff, not enough personel knowing my mother apart from the entertainment team. - In my opinion this is a travesty, as in Corrina Lodge in this short space, of time, clearly are only interested in money - and don't care about the value that is given for extortion I wouldn't be surprised if you sell my details for money.
I came to VE Day which I found most enjoyable I come 1 day a week for yoga and cannot fault anyone of staff. I enjoy it so much would love to thank one and all.
Corrina Lodge provided excellent End of Life care for my elderly uncle. After an extended stay in hospital, Corrina Lodge was like a peaceful retreat and a much more appropriate setting for someone with an aggressive, terminal cancer. My uncle had a lovely, downstairs room with a view of the gardens. Staff liaised well with the GP and palliative care team and my uncle had access to morphine etc when appropriate. The Deputy Manager/Matron understood the urgency of the placement and had my uncle visited in hospital, assessed and transferred to the home within 48 hrs! Food seemed nutritious and comforting and tea/coffee is frequently offered to residents. Finally, our family were exhaused after visiting hospital most days for over 3 months and to be able to come & visit a relative in such a tranquil setting was such a relief to us. Relatives can help themselves to tea/coffee and parking is easy. Staff are always friendly and visiting an ailing family member is made a calm experience.
I'm very pleased with Corrina Lodge. My father really likes living here, All of the staff are very professional and nothing is too much trouble. The food is exellent and he looks forward to meal times. There is always some activities going on if he wants to join in. Very happy with his care.
My experience is that this home is very clean and tidy. Activities are very well planned and run by a caring lovely group of ladies.
Very impressed with (1) Overall feel or ambiance of the home - very positive (2) Staff - everyone has been very welcoming, helpful, supportive (3) Quality of food - really nice choices, meals always served hot, on warm plates - very impressed. (4) Management is accessible and helpful. (5) Activities director provides many opportunities for residents to do fun activities together. I feel this residence takes a common sense approach to everything + doesn't sweat the small stuff. Highly recommend.
We are very happy for our daughter to go the lovely home. The staff are all very caring and very conscientious with complete attention to detail. Our daughter has to have extra care which can give a lot more work to the staff but they never complain. The home is always lovely and clean and everything is provided for her care.
Barchester Corrina Lodge Care Home is a very warm and happy home, very focused on care and mental well-being. It's a relief to my daughters that I am well cared for.
Our father dreaded the idea of having to go into a home when the hospital told him in February he was being discharged to one as he had a broken leg. But he has said himself he is very lucky to have everything taken care of and was impressed on discovering the standard of interior decoration and comfort. The staff (nursing, care, activities, catering & management) ensure there is a warm and happy atmosphere. Visitors are made very welcome and are encouraged to join in activities, indeed we have volunteered ourselves and willingly chat with other residents in the lounge. We wouldn't want him to be anywhere else.
Barchester Corrina Lodge Care Home is like a beautiful but homely hotel. It is clean and bright, The staff are very friendly and can't do enough to help. The residents are encouraged to personalise their own rooms with items from home and to join in the activities that are run each day. We are so please to have found Corrina Lodge for my Father-in-law to stay in. The care he receives is exactly what you would want for your loved one.
Was very happy with the care and attention given to my husband while he was in respite. The staff are very attentive and pleasant. Very lean in all areas. Barchester Corrina Lodge Care Home would be my first choice if my husband ever had to go into permanent care.
My mum went in for respite care after coming out of hospital. Unfortunately, it did not go well and she had to go back into hospital after five days at the home. The management, the general in particular, were so kind and friendly and helpful. The home seemed very lively and impeccably clean. My only negative comment would be that the rooms are a little small, especially as my mum was not really up to leaving it to explore. One other thing is that the beautiful smart TV was beyond my 93-year-old mother's ability to work, which was a real shame. Thank you to everyone at the home for your help, support and kindness in a difficult time.
Very kind and welcoming. Such a lovely place.
We struggled with my mum at home and after a stay in hospital, she needed to be placed. Barchester Corrina Lodge Care Home have been fantastic at looking after my mum who has dementia. My mum is happier and says everyone is friendly. We are really pleased with the care and management staff and couldn't have asked for anything more. We all highly recommend Corrina Lodge.
I wanted to thank all at Barchester Corrina Lodge Care Home so much for looking after my dad so well since his admission in July and also, by proxy, my mum for whom I think you are a lifeline. Your care, facilities and entertainment are all so well thought out and caringly provided - there is genuine humanity in your home. And I haven't even mentioned the food (it is delicious)! I came to visit again yesterday and was, once more, made to feel so welcome and included and was so impressed by the professionalism of all your staff and events. The Diwali celebration, visited by the mayor, looked wonderful and I'm sure the bonfire night fireworks will go with a bang! Thank you again and keep on doing what you're doing.
We were struggling with looking after my mother-in-law at our home, her dementia was making her angry and violent and we, especially me being the primary carer, were struggling. She took an overdose and went to hospital and eventually for a 28-day assessment. We looked at other care homes and none compared to Barchester Corrina Lodge Care Home. The staff are amazing and my mother-in-law is very happy here. The manager and administrator are amazing! Kudos to them as it feels like and actual home there.
Barchester Corrina Lodge Care Home is wonderful. The staff are caring and well-trained and the manager is excellent. Finding a nursing home for my husband was extremely stressful but as soon as I entered Corrina Lodge, I knew this was the right place for him. It is a home which treats its residents with love, respect and understanding.
My dad become a resident at this lovely care home about two weeks ago. I am surprised and delighted at the quality of care my dad is receiving. He really enjoys the food. The staff are very attentive. If my dad called for help, someone is with him in seconds. The medical staff are very persistent in trying to solve my dad's health problems and they work very hard to improve his quality of life. I cannot recommend Barchester Corrina Lodge Care Home enough.
