The care & love shown to Mum during her stay at Downsvale Nursing Home was exceptional. Mum could be tricky but the staff responded with gentleness, kindness and humour. I was very impressed tha the same staff were in place for the three years Mum was a resident. In my view this proves their
commitment. I cannot recommend Downsvale highly enough. Mum was treated like a princess. Thank you.

My mother has been at Downsvale for just over 2 years, but passed away on 03/01/2026. Whilst the home could do with some updating, the facilities are good. However, where it excels is in its staff. I cannot fault them. The care and kindness shown to mom was wonderful. We were treated the same way
when we visited. A real family feel, and we were included in events despite having dementia and being bed-bound.

My mother has been at Downsvale since September 2023. I have seen a number of changes there since that time. There has been a turnover of staff, I dont know why. However, this does not affect the great care they give to my mother and that is the main thing. The home is still very clean, no
smells. The nursing staff are brilliant, I would give them 10 out of 10. I would entrust the care of my mum with Downsvale every time. Professional and also caring, always make me feel welcome and do their very best to help with anything when needed. I no longer worry about mum because she is in good hands and thats a huge thing taken off my mind. Mum says she is comfortable and happy, thats a big plus.

Celebrating our mum's 90th birthday was an important milestone. The staff at Downsvale went to great lengths to re-arrange her bedroom and to supply chairs and tables so that the eight of us could be in her bedroom. Birthday decorations had been put up and she was presented with a wonderful fresh
cream and strawberry birthday gateau. It meant so much for us to be together to celebrate her special day, and Mum was smiling and joining in with the family's banter just like she used to do.

My husband has been at Downsvale for a couple of years now. He has advanced dementia. The staff are excellent and follow management guidance to a T. Everyone is professional but caring, friendly and approachable. The family are so glad he's there.

Downsvale made Mum's 90th Birthday very special, they provided tables and chairs in her room so that all the family could visit in comfort. Downsvale's chef made a lovely Birthday cake.
The staff are always on hand to talk on any subject regarding Mum's care and current health matters. There are
regular meetings to review her care plan.

Since coming to stay at Downsvale, my father's health has been far more stable than in the preceding 8 months. The staff and management all act with diligence and professionalism, whilst maintaining a friendly environment for the residents. I couldn't be happier with Dad's care and feel confident
that the Downsvale staff are appropriately qualified to deliver Dad's palliative/EOL care.

My mother has always been treated with the utmost respect and her happiness is evident whenever I visit. She entered the home with delirium and was traumatised by being catheterised in hospital. Downsvale helped her to feel like herself and removed the catheter which she has never needed again and
so the anxiety that caused was instantly removed. They have been so supportive of her. Mum is never dressed when I visit, is always clean and well looked after. The staff are so caring and patient. I am so happy I chose Downsvale and would recommend it to anyone who needs care for a relative.

From the moment we visited Downsvale there was a feeling of home, genuine care and support. A lovely family atmosphere. Everyone on duty smiled and said hello when we dropped in unannounced. Downsvale doesn't boast bells and whistles but genuine car and consideration at all touch points. Sadly our
father was only there for a short while before sadly passing. The staff and owners could not have been kinder and gave us plenty of time.

Management and nursing staff are caring and listen to you. Care staff get on well with mum and understand her. Food and entertainment are always good. Mum especially looks forward to her physio sessions. Family and friends are always welcomed.

Managers pro-active and caring. All staff welcoming to visitors. Liaison with other professionals good. Managers communicate well with relatives time taken to get to know residents likes and dislikes.

Hacing no experince of a care home. I have found that my husband is looked after extremely well and the nursing care is outstanding. I am very happy with the care my husband is receiving. He is always clean and tidy and well dressed. The meals are well cooked, especially for a person with dementia.
The staff are very pleasant and will ensure any questions I have regarding my husband.

Homely environment. Caring staff. Dedicated management. Nursing care is good and proactive. Liaison with other health and care professionals is good. Time taken to get to know residents well. Meals could be a little more varied.

Dad's time at Downsvale was approximately 10 weeks. In that time we were amazed at how the staff helped him to adjust and how quickly they assessed his personality and the level of care he required. Every member of staff was incredible with the love care and respect they showed to dad and us as
relatives. Dad passed away peacefully with dignity and respect thanks to the wonderful care he received from the brilliant team at Downsvale. Thank you all so much.

It has been a humbling experience to see the deep love that is given in the care of our relative. We always feel welcome the care provided is adjusted to suit the condition of the day and we feel very informed. Thank you for providing such a loving and caring environment.

Managment and staff have been friendly, caring and supportive to mum and I. Her care has been targeted to meet her needs and I have been given regular updates when I visit and when I phone and I have been notified of any health issues arising. She seems settled and happy and enjoys lots of
activities. I don't feel bad about leaving her as I know she is being well cared for.

I have been visiting my friend at Dowensvale Nursing Home for about 14 years. I have viewed many positive changes since the current Director/Manager took over the home. The building has been decorated, and a decking built outside for warmer days. The building is secure and there are a variety of
activities for residents. Staff are friendly and welcoming and treat resident with care had respect. During the time that my friend was considered to be 'end of life' the staff were so considerate and kind which helped to alleviate some of the difficulties around their time - especially the Deputy Manager.
