View Full Details of Clifden House Dementia Care CentreMy mum has only been in the centre since Nov 24. This is the first time I have done a review. So not sure when the next review is due. My mum is treated with dignity and the staff are aware of her dementia as all the people that are in there have dementia as well. She is very happy there.
I have known my friend for over 35 years, he gets out and about from time to time to come and visit me at my place of employment as he can need help with technology. The home is a lovely place with a nice environment and an always welcoming. People are always very friendly when greeting you into the house when visiting and very helpful. And my friend always says how the house feels like a home from home.
My sister was with Clifden House Care home for a few years after being moved from another care home where she was s unhappy and not looked after. Clifden was like one big happy family, she was happy, at peace with where she was and extremely well cared for. A change of clothes every day, kept clean and hair washed she loved it. Food was amazing as I fed her, fish pie, roast dinners wonderful desserts couldn't have asked for more. On arrival I was always greeted with a smile with offer of tea or coffee, I would recommend Clifden House to anyone, we both felt so lucky to be cared for there where staff were always friendly.
I visit Clifden House Dementia Centre at least 2 times per week and have done so for a few months & have always found the staff very helpful, and if asking a question, I reference my friend, always obliging, always very clean, and my friend always reacts well with the staff. Overall, a very good care home.
Staff are always very friendly and welcoming. We use Clifden House regularly for respite for my mother and she is always well cared for. The manager is excellent, very approachable and accommodating.
My mother has now been a resident of Clifden House Dementia care for over 7 years now. She is 95 years old this coming birthday and she is not an easy resident to deal with. Dementia is sadly a very complex and complicated condition which I think the time element of her residency speaks volumes regarding the type of care and ongoing dedication she has received whilst at Clifden. Without the dedication and care from all the staff at Clifden my mother would not be here today, of this fact I am certain. Thank you to all at Clifden house for all you do and all your kindness and care.
Horrified at the £150 per week (!!!) increase in fees and fairly sure it will apply to self funders only. That said, I guess some blame must be on the current Chancellor with the rise in N. I. and minimum wage increases. In terms of the care my mother receives, I have absolutely no complaints. The staff are very caring towards their residents and they always know exactly where I will find mum when I turn up. Mum's content and happily settled.
A very nice & professionally run care home staffed by loving & caring staff who go out of there way to make sure everone is well looked after.Very clean & maintained premises with each room having its own WC. Plenty of food & hot/cold drinks available for residents , releatives are welcome & well looked after, lots of entertainment. All Medical needs are tacken care of by professionally trained staff.
Cliffden House is an exceptional dementia care home that looked after my Dad in his final months with warmth, compassion, and dignity. From the moment he arrived, the staff made us feel at home. It's more than a care home-it feels like family. The atmosphere is calm, welcoming, and full of kindness. The staff are attentive and genuinely caring, not only toward their residents but also to visiting family members. They took the time to understand Dad's needs and made him feel safe, valued, and loved. Every visit felt like coming home, not to a clinical setting, but to a place filled with warmth and support. They made a difficult time so much more bearable by surrounding us with care and understanding. We always felt included and reassured, knowing Dad was in such good hands. I'll forever be grateful for the compassion and dedication shown by everyone at Cliffden House. Their care extended beyond professionalism-it was heartfelt and personal. I can't recommend highly enough.
My wife has been in the home for almost 18 months. She settled in quite quickly. She is often quite sleepy and cannot speak properly but she does understand me. She enjoys a walk around particularly in the garden. She eats well, better than before she came in. All the staff are brilliant, cheerful, helpful and understanding. And they have to put up with some difficult residents. My son room and toilet could do with a facelift but no doubt funds are short. When I arrive I am offered a tea or coffee and sometimes a biscuit!
My mum has been in Clifden House Dementia Care Centre for a year now and I am extremely happy with the care she is receiving. The staff are all very caring, friendly and professional, they show great kindness and affection for mum, making her feel secure and well looked after. They are great at letting me know if there are any issues and will take the time to talk to me about how mum is getting on. This is really important to me as I live abroad so communication with the team gives me great piece of mind. Whenever I go to visit mum I can see she is well looked after and her room is always clean and tidy. There is a good range of activities and supports provided for the residents - mum particularly likes the singers, the balloon lady and being able to sit in the garden when the weather is good. I am delighted that we chose Clifden House and am extremely grateful to the team there, they look after mum so well and give us piece of mind that she is getting the best care possible.
My brother seems to have a high level of care at the centre. All contact with the management and carers at the facility have always been very professional and caring. The centre always contact me straight away if there is any problems.
My late husband was only in Clifden House for a short time. I'd looked after him for four years before placing him in the care of Clifden House. He settled in fairly quickly and the care he was given was beyond excellent. The staff were marvellous, always smiling, friendly and always answered any questions. The other residents were ways Happy and well dressed and the various entertainments/activities were there if it was wanted. The dignity they showed my husband and the support they showed to us was great, not forgetting the endless cups of coffee.
I have always found the staff friendly with me and the residents. The cleanliness of the rooms and communal areas seem good. The meals are served in a pleasant atmosphere and cater for my cousins vegetarian preferences. Also the medication is well controlled and thorough.
My uncle has been in Clifden House for 2 years. He settled in very quickly and is now in a routine that works for him. The team have catered for his needs brilliantly and we feel that his care package has been tailored for him. I have asked him if he ever feels afraid and he replied that he didn't feel scared because he knew he was being well looked after. We take him out sometimes and although he likes it, he is always happy to return 'home' to Clifden House. Dementia is a horrible condition, and I imagine very terrifying, but my uncle seems to be settled and peaceful there. My late mother was also a resident at Clifden House, and I would say that she felt the same sense of home as my uncle. The staff are so caring and friendly, not just to residents, but also to their family. It's a hard decision to put a loved one into care, but our experience has been great, both my uncle and mum felt contented, and the family felt included and welcomed whenever we came to visit.
My mum had been with the home for over 4 years. The support and kindness shown by staff is incredible. It's such a difficult job for carers and the support team to do and they do it with smiles on their faces. I have nothing but respect for all the team.
My Mother spent one week respite here and I did not know it was possible for someone to lose that much weight in one week. I will regret my decision to leave her here forever. The care plan provided was inaccurate and this visit has hastened her decline.
This is our dad's second year being cared for by Clifden House Dementia Care Centre. We cannot fault the staff and management and we will be eternally forever grateful. The constant care, patience and total dedication from all the staff at Clifden House is incredible. Our dad is so well loved by the staff its beautiful to see his little face light up when they laugh and talk with him. These staff make our visits enjoyable and when we leave we have so much respect and love for them. Our trust in them is everything. Thank you ALL from our family.
My husband has been a resident for two years due to him suffering from Alzheimer’s. This is a most cruel disease and I find the home caring and compassionate with him. The staff are all very friendly and do what they can for him. They have activities and entertainers to entertain the residents and a lovely garden for when the nice weather is here. They always make me and my family feel welcome when we visit.
Our relative is very settled and appears happy at Clifden House. Their bedroom décor is a little outdated and furniture could do with replacement, as some parts are damaged. Communication could be better. Overall, family are pleased with the service our parent receives.
