My mum has only been in the centre since Nov 24. This is the first time I have done a review. So not sure when the next review is due. My mum is treated with dignity and the staff are aware of her dementia as all the people that are in there have dementia as well. She is very happy there.

I have known my friend for over 35 years, he gets out and about from time to time to come and visit me at my place of employment as he can need help with technology. The home is a lovely place with a nice environment and an always welcoming. People are always very friendly when greeting you into the
house when visiting and very helpful. And my friend always says how the house feels like a home from home.

My sister was with Clifden House Care home for a few years after being moved from another care home where she was s unhappy and not looked after.
Clifden was like one big happy family, she was happy, at peace with where she was and extremely well cared for.
A change of clothes every day, kept clean
and hair washed she loved it. Food was amazing as I fed her, fish pie, roast dinners wonderful desserts couldn't have asked for more.
On arrival I was always greeted with a smile with offer of tea or coffee, I would recommend Clifden House to anyone, we both felt so lucky to be cared for there where staff were always friendly.

I visit Clifden House Dementia Centre at least 2 times per week and have done so for a few months & have always found the staff very helpful, and if asking a question, I reference my friend, always obliging, always very clean, and my friend always reacts well with the staff. Overall, a very good care
home.

Staff are always very friendly and welcoming. We use Clifden House regularly for respite for my mother and she is always well cared for. The manager is excellent, very approachable and accommodating.

My mother has now been a resident of Clifden House Dementia care for over 7 years now. She is 95 years old this coming birthday and she is not an easy resident to deal with. Dementia is sadly a very complex and complicated condition which I think the time element of her residency speaks volumes regarding
the type of care and ongoing dedication she has received whilst at Clifden. Without the dedication and care from all the staff at Clifden my mother would not be here today, of this fact I am certain. Thank you to all at Clifden house for all you do and all your kindness and care.

Horrified at the £150 per week (!!!) increase in fees and fairly sure it will apply to self funders only. That said, I guess some blame must be on the current Chancellor with the rise in N. I. and minimum wage increases.
In terms of the care my mother receives, I have absolutely no complaints. The
staff are very caring towards their residents and they always know exactly where I will find mum when I turn up. Mum's content and happily settled.

A very nice & professionally run care home staffed by loving & caring staff who go out of there way to make sure everone is well looked after.Very clean & maintained premises with each room having its own WC.
Plenty of food & hot/cold drinks available for residents , releatives are welcome & well looked
after, lots of entertainment. All Medical needs are tacken care of by professionally trained staff.

Cliffden House is an exceptional dementia care home that looked after my Dad in his final months with warmth, compassion, and dignity. From the moment he arrived, the staff made us feel at home. It's more than a care home-it feels like family. The atmosphere is calm, welcoming, and full of kindness.
The staff are attentive and genuinely caring, not only toward their residents but also to visiting family members. They took the time to understand Dad's needs and made him feel safe, valued, and loved. Every visit felt like coming home, not to a clinical setting, but to a place filled with warmth and support. They made a difficult time so much more bearable by surrounding us with care and understanding. We always felt included and reassured, knowing Dad was in such good hands. I'll forever be grateful for the compassion and dedication shown by everyone at Cliffden House. Their care extended beyond professionalism-it was heartfelt and personal. I can't recommend highly enough.

My wife has been in the home for almost 18 months. She settled in quite quickly. She is often quite sleepy and cannot speak properly but she does understand me. She enjoys a walk around particularly in the garden. She eats well, better than before she came in. All the staff are brilliant, cheerful,
helpful and understanding. And they have to put up with some difficult residents. My son room and toilet could do with a facelift but no doubt funds are short.
When I arrive I am offered a tea or coffee and sometimes a biscuit!

My mum has been in Clifden House Dementia Care Centre for a year now and I am extremely happy with the care she is receiving. The staff are all very caring, friendly and professional, they show great kindness and affection for mum, making her feel secure and well looked after. They are great at letting
me know if there are any issues and will take the time to talk to me about how mum is getting on. This is really important to me as I live abroad so communication with the team gives me great piece of mind. Whenever I go to visit mum I can see she is well looked after and her room is always clean and tidy. There is a good range of activities and supports provided for the residents - mum particularly likes the singers, the balloon lady and being able to sit in the garden when the weather is good. I am delighted that we chose Clifden House and am extremely grateful to the team there, they look after mum so well and give us piece of mind that she is getting the best care possible.

My brother seems to have a high level of care at the centre. All contact with the management and carers at the facility have always been very professional and caring. The centre always contact me straight away if there is any problems.

My late husband was only in Clifden House for a short time. I'd looked after him for four years before placing him in the care of Clifden House.
He settled in fairly quickly and the care he was given was beyond excellent. The staff were marvellous, always smiling, friendly and always answered any questions.
The other residents were ways Happy and well dressed and the various entertainments/activities were there if it was wanted. The dignity they showed my husband and the support they showed to us was great, not forgetting the endless cups of coffee.

I have always found the staff friendly with me and the residents. The cleanliness of the rooms and communal areas seem good. The meals are served in a pleasant atmosphere and cater for my cousins vegetarian preferences. Also the medication is well controlled and thorough.

My uncle has been in Clifden House for 2 years.
He settled in very quickly and is now in a routine that works for him. The team have catered for his needs brilliantly and we feel that his care package has been tailored for him.
I have asked him if he ever feels afraid and he replied that he didn't
feel scared because he knew he was being well looked after.
We take him out sometimes and although he likes it, he is always happy to return 'home' to Clifden House.
Dementia is a horrible condition, and I imagine very terrifying, but my uncle seems to be settled and peaceful there.
My late mother was also a resident at Clifden House, and I would say that she felt the same sense of home as my uncle.
The staff are so caring and friendly, not just to residents, but also to their family.
It's a hard decision to put a loved one into care, but our experience has been great, both my uncle and mum felt contented, and the family felt included and welcomed whenever we came to visit.

My Mother spent one week respite here and I did not know it was possible for someone to lose that much weight in one week. I will regret my decision to leave her here forever. The care plan provided was inaccurate and this visit has hastened her decline.

The constant care, patience and total dedication from all the staff at Clifden House is incredible. Our dad is so well loved by the

My husband has been a resident for two years due to him suffering from Alzheimer’s. This is a most cruel disease and I find the home caring and compassionate with him. The staff are all very friendly and do what they can for him. They have activities and entertainers to entertain the residents and a
lovely garden for when the nice weather is here. They always make me and my family feel welcome when we visit.

Our relative is very settled and appears happy at Clifden House. Their bedroom décor is a little outdated and furniture could do with replacement, as some parts are damaged. Communication could be better. Overall, family are pleased with the service our parent receives.

It is incredibly rewarding to see positive changes, whether that is a residents settling in and feeling more at home or a team member growing in their role with high support. Of course, there are challenges, but being able to support residents and staff, solve problems and make a real difference makes my role deeply fulfilling.


The environment, my colleagues, our residents, the manager and the owners make me feel like the home, if family to me,all I have learned at Clifden House, being a care assistant and they gave me the opportunity to study and develop myself. I have trained with medication, and completed my NVQ qualifications.

I enjoy working at Clifden House with a great team and getting the feeling that we are all here for and with the same purpose. Every day is different !


I have been working here for nearly 13 years and I have a level 5 qualification.


As a Team Manager I oversee the allocation of staff and the day to day running of the shift, engaging with all the staff and visitors and dealing with several outside organisations including social workers, GP's, District Nurse, Speech & Language, OT's, Families and friends of residents and many more.


I find my job very satisfying knowing I have made a difference to the residents lives.


I enjoy having a positive impact on the residents we care for and their families, to help make their lives at Clifden House more enjoyable and rewarding on a daily basis, I also enjoy listening to stories of their life hearing the ups and downs they have encountered through their lives.

I have been working at Clifden House since mid 2017 and I started as a carer and have worked up to become Team Manager. The thing I like most working at Clifden House is the family atmosphere. Residents, family members and other staff all feel like a family unit, being able to share things and raise concerns knowing something will be done to ensure everyone is better off.


My Current role is Team Manager, this role involves me assisting the house manager with the running of the dad to day needs of the care home. This is usually in the form of running the day shift ensuring each of our residents daily needs are met and our staff are working to the best of their abilities. Other responsibilities tied to my job is ensuring the residents care plans and risk assessments are upon to date and relevant, interacting with other health care professionals, and family and friends of our residents.


The thing I enjoy most about my job is meeting new and interesting people with it either being residents, family members or other staff. Listening to the stories they share and I enjoy being able to push staff to their potential.


Overall I find my job satisfying, being a carer a carer is not always sunshine or rainbows - the most satisfying part of the job is getting a smile or a thank you when assisting one of the residents.


I have a NVQ Level 4 in health and social care (graded distinction) and I regularly undertake my mandatory training courses. I have my train the trainer in manual handling and I am trained in first aid, as well as 18 years experience in the care sector.

I have been working at Clifden House for 4 years now, and I like the people that work here they are all so nice and easy to get on with. Working within a great team where we all support each other which creates a great atmosphere and a good place to work.


I clean all the communal areas, ensuring they are kept clean and tidy, washing floors and walls etc. I clean the residents rooms to an excellent standard ensuring they are clean and tidy and I replenish toiletry products. I make sure all surfaces an furnishing are clean of stains, including carpets, putting the residents first, their safety is priority.


At times it can be challenging but I enjoy being able to talk to the residents and make them smile and feel happy.
