View Full Details of LauristonMy Mother died in April 2025 having been looked after for 3 years Lauriston MHA Care Home and before that at Richmond MHA Care home, which was also run by the manager. The care she received from care workers, auxiliary staff and cleaners was exemplary. She was cared for with love, dignity and respect. My brother, sister and I are all so grateful for the effort made by all staff to ensure Mum's comfort and dignity right to the end of her days. The effort with Christmas lunches, music therapy, hair and nail salons, not to mention the spiritual care from the chaplain and pastoral visitors was impressive and so reassuring. It was always a happy, joyful place to visit in spite of the very difficult circumstances of finding ourselves unable to care for a dearly loved Mother. The manager is an inspiration, full of ideas which she gets on and implements. Nothing but praise for the Home!
My mum moved into the Lauristons after her hospital discharge in April 2025. I looked at numerous homes for my mum and was horrified at most, until I found the Lauristons! The deputy manager spoke with me on the phone and showed me around. I knew from the phonecall it was going to be the place my mum would live. Ever since my mum moved in, myself and other family members have felt more than welcome. All the staff, whether it's admin, management, cleaning, nurses or hca' have always been so friendly and polite. They all treat my mum with dignity, empathy and with the highest standard of care. The home always smells and looks clean. My mum always looks very well looked after and content. I'm so greatful to of found the Lauristons and am truely greatful to them. I work in care myself and can say how great they do as a home, as a group and individually.
My mother moved to Lauriston in 2022, having previously been a resident somewhere else. The move was managed seamlessly and and it quickly became clear that the standards of care were just as high, and Mum was not aware of any change at all. This is an exceptional care home, where the staff form really strong personal relationships with residents, and you can relax knowing that your relatives are in safe, consistent, caring hands. You are made very welcome; staff are polite, helpful & smiley. The environment is light, bright and modern, and full use is made of the lovely garden spaces when the weather allows. The management and staff have gone to great lengths to provide the best quality of life for residents. Highlights have included Garden parties, musical entertainers, a music therapist, the Namaste multi-sensory room, church services on site, ducks & pets, facilitating really special birthday celebrations & family events and the Magazine.
After a recent unexpected hospital admission my dad was suddenly in a position whereby he needed urgent respite care. The Lauriston was recommended to me by a family member and I immediately contacted the manager who arranged a home visit to see dad with her senior nurse. Dad was very quickly assessed and moved in that day. It soon became apparent that dad needed full time care and we decided the Lauriston was the only place we wanted him to stay in. Dad has very complex needs and every single member of staff are amazing with him. They make him laugh and smile and I can honestly say I've never seen him eat so much ! It's like living in a posh hotel, with daily entertainment with lots to do, the gardens are lovely and the interaction the staff have with all the residents is just lovely to see. Dad wouldn't normally be one to mix with others, however he is thriving and even though he had a few teething problems, he is doing really well and this is only down to all the staff
Excellent quality of care Lovely caring support provided Staff friendly and highly responsive Management helpful Activities well planned and held frequently Menu highly nutritious and good choices provided
My aunt was 107 years old of lately very frail and confined to her bedroom (as she then preferred). Her care was loving from the staff assigned and they were extremely welcoming to me. I can't say my aunt was entirely happy because she always longed to be able to be free and self-reliant in her old age. Her final care was gentle and professionally thorough. Always clean.
The home manager and all the team at Lauriston are simply the best. The care and support they offer is excellent. They have been on the dementia journey with my mum and I for the last three years. It hasn't always been easy, but I, and my family, are so very grateful for all their care and understanding. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. The little things mean a lot, from the attention to detail with meals and afternoon treats, the birthday cakes/celebrations for everyone to the namaste sessions and entertainment and they also recognise and accommodate when people need some quiet time. The managers are always happy to listen, take on board and respond to any comments or suggestions. Placing your mum into the care of others is a very difficult thing to so, I am so pleased we found the perfect place for mum and her last few years are the best they can be.
My father-in-law has been at Lauriston for about 10 months- he has extremely poor memory and has always had quite a strong personality. He has no insight into his condition and doesn't remember very much about his days, but the team always involve him in activities, treating him with dignity, warmth and understanding, even when he can be quite challenging. We are welcomed when we visit, communication with the team is very easy and they are knowledgeable: a very different experience from the previous location in which he was living. The environment is extremely clean and well maintained, with attention to detail and the food is always fresh and well presented. I would wholeheartedly recommend Lauriston to anyone who is looking for a quality place for their family member.
My dad moved into The Lauriston in December 2024 and is very happy with the care and support he is getting. The staff are great and have made him feel very welcome. The management team have been super supportive and helped make the whole move stress free. I would highly recommend.
An absolutely wonderful care home. The staff are attentive, caring, professional and communicative. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. The home itself is clean and fresh, well decorated and maintained to the highest standard. My brother and I are completely satisfied that we have helped Dad choose the best home locally. Quality in every respect.
Every single member of staff at Lauriston have been amazing! My parents moved to Lauriston a couple of weeks before Christmas and everyone has been so welcoming and utterly engaged with facilitating all that has to be done for a smooth and positive outcome from admin and housekeeping, nursing and medical to activity engagement. My parents have been encouraged to meet other residents and join activities that go on throughout the week and have even been taken on an outing to the pantomime. My parents are very happy and have settled well into their new home, thank you, team! Lauriston is a welcoming home; clean and tidy, carpeted and well-decorated with comfy chairs and a homely feel. Different lounges and spaces are available to go and find your preferred place to spend time or join an activity. I can't praise the set-up and staff enough.
I have been so impressed with the care my mother receives at this care home. The staff are always so kind and patient with the residents. They always have time to listen to any concerns we have. There are always activities going on, appropriate to the level of participation the residents can manage. The place is always clean and smells nice.
By far the nicest care home that we visited before deciding on a place for my mum. The home is bright, clean and has energy that was missing elsewhere. My mother is very well looked after and has developed nice relationships with the staff. All requests have been promptly addressed by the managers. In the coming hear, I would like her to become more social with other residents and hope that the staff can encourage this. My only slight concern is that requested specific needs for my mum are not always followed.
My aunt has only been at Lauriston for 6 months but has settled extremely well, mainly due to the care and consideration shown by the staff. Added to the excellent communication from the management team I am confident this choice was the right one for me aunt.
We are so fortunate to have a place for Mum at Lauriston. The staff are absolutely wonderful, kind, caring, compassionate and respectful of her, and have remained so despite Mum's behaviour having become gradually more challenging.
My mother has been living at Lauriston for nearly a year, and I am constantly impressed by the quality of care which she receives from the care home staff. They are kind, respectful, sensitive and gentle as well as being competent and efficient. Staff often spot opportunities for being helpful, and take them. I was especially moved to hear one staff member singing gently to my mother as he helped her in the bathroom. These are wonderful, highly skilled, highly motivated workers.
My father has been in Lauriston since September 2024. The care has been amazing and in the past few weeks, he has deteriorated severely. The care, support and advice we have received has been of the highest standard and made this difficult time much more bearable than it might have been. I feel so lucky to have Dad living in this home now. The home has such a friendly atmosphere and the welcome we get each time we visit is lovely. Thank you all at Lauriston.
Dad has been in Lauriston Care Home since August 2024. I am very happy with the care he has received there. The staff are very friendly and kind and nothing is too much trouble. Office staff, management and laundry staff very helpful. Plus the team of nurses are very vigilant noting any issues and informing the family of any concerns. The food is excellent with lots of choices. There are various activities to join in with should you choose, such as painting or singing, quizzes and seasonal subjects like Remembrance Sunday are marked. There's a nice big garden as well and Dad enjoyed sitting outside with his visitors. Often tea and cake were served as well which was a lovely touch. I'm always pleased with the home when I visit, and I come away with a good warm feeling as I leave knowing my dad is being well cared for.
My mother has been living at Lauriston for over a year now and I am delighted with the care and attention she receives. She has dementia but is always treated with dignity and compassion. The staff are amazing and know her so well. They work hard to provide lots of activities and understand the individual needs of each resident. At the same time, I feel well-supported in this journey. No question is too small and queries have been dealt with promptly and efficiently. I feel very lucky to have such a wonderful place for my mother to live. Many thanks to you all.
My sister has been a dementia resident at Lauriston since 2017. She is well looked after by staff who are thoughtful and caring. She enjoys activities like music therapy and occasional short walks with staff.
