View Full Details of Ashton House Nursing & Residential HomeThe staff at Ashton House are absolutely amazing, they are very kind, friendly and supportive to our aunt and ourselves. They provided a brilliant range of activities and outings that our aunt loved. I would highly recommend Ashton House to anyone looking for somewhere for their loved ones.
Amazing care was given to my dear dad, who lost his life to Lewy Body Dementia. He was looked after so well by the wonderful team at Ashton House. They all delivered compassionate end of life care and looked after us when we visited every day. Thank you to a very special team.
My husband was admitted to Ashton House for palliative care after spending three weeks in hospital. He was treated with kindness, care and compassion during his (last) 6 days, as were his family. I would recommend Ashton House to others who need care in the last few days of life.
We feel the staff are very efficient when a concern arises they deal with it quickly and compassionately nothing is to much to ask for them they are happy to help I am extremely grateful how my partner is being treated in this care home such a high standard of care and empathy to all residents and always a warm and friendly welcome to us as well
Outstanding level of care. Nothing is too much for nurses and care assistants. Kind, supportive, sensitive to the needs of patient and their family. Incredibly patient and their family. Incredibly patient/tolerant. The resident loved the food too! Said they have never tasted a better omelette in their whole life (91 years!) Thank you for your kindness, professionalism and humanity. Eternally grateful.
My mum was at Ashton House for around 6 months, after having a stroke. I live in America and travelled back many times to be with her. The care she received was excellent and every nurse was compassionate and helped me be reassured about the medical care she was receiving when I couldn't be there. I shall always be grateful that she was looked after by such amazing supportive staff. Thank you
My father spent 5 weeks at Ashton House as a respite care resident. The decoration and general appearance is not 5 star but the amazing staff definitely are. Always smiling! They went above and beyond to care for my dad. He improved so much in those 5 weeks. The home is very clean and the food was excellent. My father and I cannot thank them enough.
First impressions on entering the building were very good. Staff all appeared to be smiling & friendly. I was offered refreshments immediately. I was offered a family meeting (by remote/video or face to face) very shortly after my sister was admitted. This is excellent practice as is the efficient telephone and email support offered.
Staff are friendly and welcoming, answered all my questions. Receptionist is very friendly, rooms are clean. The manager was very helpful.
My husband was at Ashton House Nursing Home from June 2022 until January 2025. During the two and a half years that he was there, I was always made welcome, as were any other visitors he had. I felt he was well cared for and with dignity, kindness and respect. There were several staff changes during my husbands time at Ashton House and all were patient, considerate and caring. If I raised any concerns they were followed up as soon as they could be and I was kept informed of any medical issues by the nurses. I would say that the Nursing Home is run with professionalism and compassion.
My mother was cared for here, the staff are very caring and helpful .I was very happy with all the facilities but especially all the staff who were really great. Many thanks to Ashton House for looking my lovely mum.
I would like to comment on my observations over a number of visits to see my brother over a 3 year period. Yes, this comment is for February 2025 but things have not changed in the three years. The food provided is very good (choice & quality) however I have noticed that too much food is often served which results in lots of waste, certainly in my brothers case! To avoid waste and save on food costs, could it be considered to trial a period of smaller portion sizes? Thank you.
My Grandmother was only at Ashton House for a few months. However, these were the happiest I had seen her in a long while. All staff were, without exception, very kind and accommodating, you could not ask for anymore. Thank you to all at Ashton House.
Although my husband was with you for a very short time I found his care to be excellent. The accommodation good and the food excellent. The care from carers extremely high.
Ashton House Nursing & Residential Home were absolutely brilliant. All the carers and staff were fantastic. I can not fault anything at the home. Dad was very happy staying in Ashton House. Dad was always cared for with dignity and respect. I highly recommend Ashton House to anyone looking for a care home for their loved ones.
Such a lovely welcoming home for my dad. The staff are always happy, kind and caring and nothing is too much trouble.
As this was our first visit and Mum has only been with you for a couple of weeks we feel we cannot give a full review. However, we were made welcome and impressed with the building, location and the staff were friendly. Mum seemed happy.
It is difficult to consider value for money when the cost of care is extraordinary for the average person to afford, but one must consider that residential care is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every week. I don't think there is anything else in life that represents such a low hourly charge for something so valuable. I believe the Ashton House staff take good care of my mother and by association have given me continued peace from the difficulty of holding down a full-time job whilst being a carer. My ma has dementia and I feel her needs are met with dignity and kindness. My perception is that she is doing as well as possible with the condition she has. I had preconceptions and concerns about immaterial things when I first needed to look at dementia care homes for my ma. Any concerns I had left me very quickly once I had confidence that Ashton House delivers on the things that really matter about residential care, kindness and a good level of professionalism.
My mother was admitted to Ashton House for palliative care. For the week she was there, passing away on 17th October, she was treated with respect, kindness and empathy by all staff. My mother's family was also treated very kindly at all times. I was very happy for my mother to be at Ashton House as I knew she was well looked after.
Do not send your loved one here, the standard of care is not good enough. We visited daily, so had a good insight as to how this place is run. Thankfully, we managed to move my dad before he passed away, we'll always be grateful for that. We have reported our concerns.
