My uncle was admitted to the nursing home, but it was only for a few days unfortunately. But his time there was lovely. He was cared for so well and had a wonderful team of nurses looking after him. They were all very caring and so lovely, not just to my uncle, but to us all. They couldn't do enough
for us, very attentive and helpful, and so supportive at a very sad time. We as a family just wish he had come to stay with you back last year when he had to go to a home, 100% things would have been so different; he would still be with us today.

Dad was transferred here for palliative care. The staff were beyond amazing, the care they provided and showed dad was exceptional from day 1. Everyone knew Dad's needs, especially as they changed along his final journey. I cannot fault them in any way. Plenty of staff on duty at all times, friendly,
caring, helpful. All with a smile. 100% recommend Aston House - I have viewed a lot of homes, which are disgraceful. Well done to all at Ashton House.

I just want to say a massive thanks for giving my father in his last month of life such an lovely place with amazing staff who not only looked after him but also us, constantly checking if we were OK asking if we wanted refreshments of seats every time we was there, but also even saying hi or good morning
as well just being nice on a human touch.

A special praise to a few I want to mention

1) The 2 reception staff, a big smile every time we visited, profession but compassionate as well and could not do enough to help with anything we needed, a real credit to your company
2) Deepak the head nurse so approachable a genuine nice person who again always seemed to be around when we needed including today the day after my father sadly passed away, a real credit to your company

All in all a lovely place who I would highly recommend.

Ashton House provided excellent care for Dad for the brief last 6 weeks of his life. Every staff member was kind and courteous with us and dad.
He was looked after extremely well, with his personal care and feeding him good quality meals.
I wish we'd moved him there sooner.

Our father had advanced alzheimers when he came to Ashton Gouse, and he quickly regained the weight he had lost whilst in hospital. He spent more than two peaceful years in their care. Whilst the furnishing in other places may look more plush, it is the kindness and quality of care that matters. The
nursing, care, laundry & cleaning staff have been excellent. We spent many hours with Dad in his final weeks and night or day they were unfailingly patient, respectful and thoughtful towards Dad and us. We appreciate deeply the care that they gave to him and the sacrifices they make to do this job. Thank you for creating a caring, clean and compassionate environment.

Outstanding level of care.
Nothing is too much for nurses and care assistants.
Kind, supportive, sensitive to the needs of patient and their family. Incredibly patient and their family. Incredibly patient/tolerant.
The resident loved the food too! Said they have never tasted a better omelette
in their whole life (91 years!)
Thank you for your kindness, professionalism and humanity. Eternally grateful.

My mum was at Ashton House for around 6 months, after having a stroke. I live in America and travelled back many times to be with her. The care she received was excellent and every nurse was compassionate and helped me be reassured about the medical care she was receiving when I couldn't be there.
I shall always be grateful that she was looked after by such amazing supportive staff. Thank you

My father spent 5 weeks at Ashton House as a respite care resident. The decoration and general appearance is not 5 star but the amazing staff definitely are. Always smiling! They went above and beyond to care for my dad. He improved so much in those 5 weeks. The home is very clean and the food was excellent.

First impressions on entering the building were very good. Staff all appeared to be smiling & friendly. I was offered refreshments immediately. I was offered a family meeting (by remote/video or face to face) very shortly after my sister was admitted. This is excellent practice as is the efficient telephone
and email support offered.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.625)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.625) out of 10 for Ashton House Nursing & Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 38 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.625 for Ashton House Nursing & Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (333 Excellents x 5) + (79 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (16 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 437 Ratings = 4.625
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ashton House Nursing & Residential Home is based on 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 100 registered maximum number of service users is 20, which has been reached with 36 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
