View Full Details of St Clements Nursing HomeHaving looked at several other care/nursing homes, we felt that St Clements was a good fit for Dad. We were reassured by the staff and management that Dad would be well looked after, as his day to day care needs were increasing, so that staying at home was no longer an option. The staff have been very welcoming and Dad has settled in as well as we could have expected, given that he was not keen on leaving his home, where he has lived for the last 50 years. Having lived with Dad for a significant amount of the last 12 months, I got to know his requirements and behaviour quite well. Whilst the staff have tried to get to know him, I think his Alzheimers and reticence to engage at times has made this difficult. I have had to ask for a few things to be done for him, or clarity on a few issues, as there is no direct feedback. I was previously used to getting this on a daily basis from App's that his carers at home were using.
The home has the most friendly, approachable staff who are extremely hard working and committed. My father has been there for 8 months and, like most new residents i am sure, he was very unsure when he first arrived, probably scared, but over the weeks months he has become happier there which is very reassuring for us, his family. Food is super. Cleanliness is amazing; everywhere is spotless, the laundry, which is done daily I think smells gorgeous. The management don't hide is the office they are on 'the floor' and ALWAYS approachable and dealt with any issues immediately or as soon as practical. The recent new care home manager is wonderful. I/we would have no hesitation recommending St Clements. Yes the cost of a good care home is scary but there is no price you can put on knowing your loved one is safe and looked after. Oh medical support is always on hand too.... very reassuring.
My stepmother moved into St Clements late in September following the death of her husband (my father). She has been supported by the staff and is comfortable in her room and is recovering well. She has dementia and limited mobility following a hip fracture. On my visits I have seen that she is dressed in clean clothing and is alert and happy. Her only gripe is that the food is rather bland (she used to be a keen cook).
Since my elderly, frightened mother arrived at St Clements, she has become much more feisty and not scared anymore. The care received has always been exemplary, respectful, from happy staff members who are familiar with her needs, likes and dislikes. Though staffing seems a bit thin at the weekends, my mother still benefits from excellent care and attention. Additionally, we were delighted to hear that mum was taken on a minibus day trip to the museum earlier this week. Having been housebound for sometime, it was heartwarming to see her enjoying herself outside of her usual environment. Well done to all involved, and thank you.

I came to the home to visit my friend. It was lovely to see all of the staff engaging with the other residents. Staff were all very friendly and offered regular drinks.
My husband has been a resident in St Clements Nursing Home for 9 months now. Suffering from Alzheimer's and is physically quite disabled, being 96 years old he has deteriorated considerably during this time. The care he has received has been second to none, He is clean, his bedroom and bathroom spotless and he wears clean clothes each day and more often if he spills anything down his shirt. Every carer in there is kind, gentle and pleasant, not only with the residents but also with all the family. The kitchen staff will cater for any special needs or requests. Cleaners, laundry staff and finally most importantly the manager and office staff are all friendly and helpful.
My father has been a resident in St Clements Nursing Home for 8 weeks. Choosing an appropriate setting was traumatic for the family as we had been caring for our father in his own home until this point. The managers made the decision easy for us, with their confident reassurance that Dad would fit in and they would be able to meet his needs. We chose St Clements because it is relatively small and intimate, with a good ratio of staff to residents. Their care, attention and understanding of the residents is evident. We have been impressed with the welcome we receive from all staff on each visit. The quality of their engagement with residents and the responsiveness of the management team, through regular discussion and review, has been excellent e.g. change of room as soon as one became available. Staff encouraged Dad to go down to the lounge, mix and gradually participate in activities (a huge surprise to us!) and he has quickly settled into a new routine thanks to their persistence.
It was a really difficult time for the family and Mum when we realised Mum needed the level of care that only a nursing home could provide. St Clements was recommended to us by more than one person. St Clements has made the transition from home to care so much easier for Mum and the family. All the management team and staff are so friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Although extremely busy, no question or query is overlooked. They always make time to help. The home is always clean. The food is excellent. The activities are perfectly suited to the residents, Mum is now settling in well. We are so grateful to the whole team, thank you.
Had a BBQ and music. The entertainer played instruments, did country music, 60's etc, musicals and more, he had a lovely voice, quite funny. Lovely food, the staff were great. Everyone had a beautiful entertaining afternoon enjoyed by all. They hold lots of lovely events, music, singing and dancing, such a wonderful place for my mum to call home. this is the best place my mum could have ended up, she is so well looked after, emotionally, personally and health, everything is taken care of. The communication is brilliant between staff and residents, all so caring.
Excellent care. St Clements ensures all residents are well looked after and kept safely at all times. My aunt is very happy with her time at the home.
First-class residential home. Really cannot fault it. Everyone is so friendly, helpful and caring. The entertainment is fantastic. Thanks to the coordinator.
Excellent care/nursing home. The staff are fantastic. Lots of activities and fun for residents. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Thank you.
My mother stayed at St Clements from January 2022 until she sadly passed away in May 2024. To say my brother and I and most importantly our Mum cannot sing the praises of St Clements loud enough. The care, facilities, staff, food and activities all contributed to providing Mum with the absolute best final years she could ever have wished for. Mum was so happy which was so reassuring that we had made the best choice for her. Amazing.
I could not have wished for my dad to have been anywhere else in the last 17 months of his life. Each time I visited Dad (which was 3x a week) he was always happy, smiling and looked well cared for. I experienced being at the home both during the day and overnight and the care was always exemplary. Having been in a nursing management role myself the management and all the team treated clients with dignity, in a holistic way. Always open to new ideas, approachable at all times which was very reassuring. I wish to convert my grateful thanks to the management, support workers, activities team, chefs and cleaners and all at St Clements. Well done.
My father-in-law was a resident at St Clements Nursing Home for some 17 months. He was looked after and cared for as if he was one of their own and part the St Clements family. His sad passing was dealt with dignity, compassion and even great affection and love for my 'earth' dad. We have nothing but praise and therefore it was a great comfort to my wife and I. We are seriously thinking of finding a 'vehicle' to keep our association with the staff and residents at St Clements.
The staff are kind, helpful and understanding. The management are brilliant and always ready to help if needed.
Care for my brother is always carried out with respect and dignity. The home is kept very clean. There are always activities going on each day, some of which my brother joins in with. The manager and her team are very approachable and always happy to take the time and address any issues I may have. As I myself have worked in a managerial position for 40 years, I can honestly say that St Clements is a lovely home and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
St Clements Nursing Home organised a May Day BBQ for all the residents and families. We were very lucky as the sun shone and they invited some Maypole dancers to entertain us. The residents loved it and it was nice to chat with other family members. The food was great and it was a really fun afternoon.
The staff are 100% professional, helpful and kind to all of the residents, relatives and friends. Beautiful nursing home with happy staff and residents.
