View Full Details of Dussindale Park Care HomeDuring her 80-day hospital stay, I was informed that given my wife's needs, I would not be able to care for her at home, and having experienced during the past 3 months, Dussindale's (the Dale) provided professional and personal care and attention, and the specialist knowledge and facilities, I can now say that the right decision was made - for her Care to be at the Dale. The facilities are very good, (personalised room, bathrooms, restaurant, lounges - all clean and fresh), then there are the daily activities, to never ending 'on demand' drinks and freshly prepared foods, and of course, there is continual over-arching nursing attention. It is the Dale Team that makes it work - it's a 'can do' attitude, making my wife comfortable in all respects. Quite simply, they know what they are doing, what to do, when to do it - and do it all with care, patience, and a smile! I am certain the manager will always make sure it remains '5 star' for her residents - thank you to all!!
I would like to thank all the staff for the empathy, care and dignity that they gave/showed my father in his final days with them. His stay was brief, as expected, but the homely atmosphere and the positiveness of all the staff, nothing was too much trouble and I know he appreciated that very much. I would also like to thank them in the way they supported us as a family, at this sad time.
My husband moved to Dussindale Park earlier this year. The staff have made both myself and him very welcome. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Every thing is always clean and tidy, any mishaps are dealt with straight away. After accidentally setting off emergency alarm staff were there within seconds. There is always plenty organised to keep the residents stimulated.
My husband has been at the home for two months now and has settled in well. He receives excellent care from all the staff who are kind and helpful. The nursing staff are there for any problems. Meals are well prepared and good quality. Very good nursing home.
Dad settled into Dussindale Nursing Home quickly. He receives the level of care and nursing that he needs. The staff, at all levels, are approachable and helpful. The food is freshly cooked and there is a good variety to chose from. On a recent stay in hospital, Dad was keen to return to Dussindale which he called home.
The following comments are for my wife, myself and my family. The care home - wonderful All the staff - wonderful The meals - wonderful The care - wonderful The cleanliness - wonderful
A wonderful home. Well looked after. Staff are helpful and so kind and thoughtful. Home from home.
The staff are really very friendly and helpful, my wife has only been here for a month, so l have limited experience, but overall l am pleased with the day to day experience. My wife is eating better, as l think she enjoys her meals, possibly because they are of a good quality and presented very well.
He was discharged to Dussindale Park nursing home following 5 months in hospital after a series of strokes. His care needs are complex but the staff have been excellent and he has been here for 4 months now and is flourishing. His room and surroundings are homely, the carers and nurses are excellent and it feels like he is in a safe, caring and homely environment. His pet Alsatian has been able to visit in the lovely well-kept gardens. He will likely be here long term and his family feel certain he is getting the best possible care. First-class nursing home!
Our Mum came to Dussingdale in December 2022. It turned out to be the best place we could have wished for. She has changed in leaps and bounds. She has come to life, so different to the previous three months when she was in hospital and everyone including the doctors had given up, she wouldn't live long, serious medical problems. How wrong they all were, with the help of the manager and all her excellent staff. Thank you all, from all the family, we know she is getting excellent care.
Dedicated and professional care staff. Respectful and good-humoured. Any uncertainties I had regarding life in a nursing home are gone. I feel I am being cared for.
Mostly good
The staff and the home at Dussindalw are all lovely, they have made my mum very welcome, and I feel she is safe and secure, which has made a difference to my mental health.
The home is clean and the food is really nice. The staff are very kind and caring and very helpful. All the staff made my mum feel at home.
I came here on the 3rd April 2023 from the NHS hospital. I was very ill in hospital for two weeks, after being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia and a serious blood clot on my left leg. The staff here are excellent. I have never been in a care home before and did not know what to expect, but it is the best ever. They are very caring.
I came in straight from hospital. I was bedridden and could not walk. With the excellent care and support of all the carers and managers, I can get out of bed and sit in a chair. My walking is still a long way off but I know I can make it with the help of the nursing staff. They have been brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is excellent. I would recommend this home to anybody who needed care. Well done.
My wife dislikes being here, owing to the circumstances she cannot be at home, as I am sure you can understand. I, her husband, will complete/rate it as I find it.
Mum has been at Dussindale since coming out of hospital in March this year. We needed somewhere where she could receive good quality nursing care as we couldn't manage the situation at home. I visited the home and met the manager who was very friendly, open and stated that wound care was one of the things they had good success with. This immediately made me feel this was the right place for Mum. She is in a bright and cheerful room which she loves. All the staff are lovely people, nothing is too much trouble. The nursing staff have a great deal of experience and always answer questions or find out information. Our special thanks to the manager who goes out of her way to make sure the residents have everything they need and all their needs are met. In the eight years she has been there she has turned the home into a Good CQC rating and this is evident when you visit the home. We really feel Mum has a much better chance of recovery being under the excellent care at Dussindale Park.
My father was suffering in the hospital as it was very noisy and short-staffed. He was 92 years old and put on palliative care. With the help of one member of staff liaising with the manager, Dad was quickly moved to a lovely sunny room for his last days. The manager and her team were outstanding - very caring, supportive, friendly and gentle with Dad. Always respectful, and they always consulted me and my brother on our wishes, explaining everything and being very responsive to requests. The best ending for Dad!; dignity, peace and care. Special thanks to the manager and her team.
As a daughter of a resident who lives in Scotland, I have been totally reliant on the team at Dussindale Park Care Home to ensure Mum received the care and attention she needed. The last two years have been remarkably challenging for anyone working or having a relative in the care sector but the team at Dussindale have not only coped but excelled in what they have achieved. Every department member from the gardener, maintenance, laundry, housekeeping and catering has contributed to the well-being of my mum, who has loved the engagement and conversation she has had over and above the exemplary nursing and care she has received. Over the pandemic, we had FaceTime calls facilitated by the reception/administrator, plus lots of calls and when restrictions were lifted I have been able to visit in person many times and enjoyed sitting in the beautiful gardens with Mum. I am equally grateful for the care and attention I have received from the full team, including the night team. Thank you.
