View Full Details of GreshamMy mum has been at Gresham for nearly 2 years now. We are really pleased with the care my mum receives and we cannot fault the staff. They are all really welcoming and very helpful, keeping us well informed with everything we need to know regarding my mums care.
My Mother was placed into the Gresham Care Home after a short stay in the local hospital after a fall in her home, initially for respite care but with her decline in her vascular dementia condition she has stayed in the home. From my first meeting with the staff , I was impressed with the care the manager and staff had for my mother and all the residents. The staff are all kind and caring and take the time to chat with my mother. She seems to be quite settled in and it is so good to see her smiling and chatting with the staff during my regular visits. She has not always been easy to mix with people but she seems to be getting on with the staff quite well. I always feel welcome when I visit her and the staff always make me feel welcome and greet me with a friendly smile. I feel that she is in the best place and that I feel relaxed that she is being cared for.
My husband moved into Gresham Care Home a couple of weeks ago after a long spell in hospital following a sudden decline in his dementia. From my initial meeting, I was impressed with the clear care the manager had for all the residents. The staff are all kind and caring and take the time to chat to my husband. He seems to be settling in and it is so good to see him smiling and starting to eat again.
Gresham have been amazing in looking after my husband and keeping him safe, particularly from falls, at which he is high risk. Since his discharge from hospital they have been able to reduce his anxiety by distracting him and allowing to walk/ pace accompanied by a staff member at all times. He has put on a little weight and has settled in as much as his illness allows. If the weather allows they will take him out to the park which he loves. All the staff are friendly and courteous. Friends who visit comment on how caring they all are. The nursing staff take his health very seriously and are quick off the mark if they feel there is something wrong - its not always easy to tell with someone with Alzheimer's but they look for signs and follow up any unease. When I visit it's obvious all patients are being cared for, staff are always friendly and kind & since hubby has been in the care of Gresham, I have been able to relax knowing he will be safe and cared for. All I could wish.
