View Full Details of Oak Manor Nursing HomeMy father came to Oak Manor in July this year for his final few months of his life. He had complex physical and mental health needs which required around the clock nursing and personal care. He was completely bedbound with limited movement. Every member of staff treated my father with dignity, kindness and patience. My father was not an easy man to look after but the whole team did everything they could to make him feel he was at his family home. We particularly want thank all the staff for their time and effort they took to set up a celebration for our parents 72nd wedding anniversary for the whole family. The support the whole family received in the last few weeks of our father's life was fantastic. Our mother particularly had huge support on her visits to see her husband and we were encouraged to spend as much time as we wanted to until our father died. I have no hesitation in recommending Oak Manor for the care of a loved one.
All my dealings with staff doing a variety of tasks (in a testing environment with dementia patients)was that they all cared and took pride in their work. The management who lead this team are exceptional. All the staff speak highly of their management team .This comes across in vibes of the place and that they like working there. Happy staff make all the difference.
The care that our father received in the 3 months he was here was incredible. All the staff were kind, caring, knowledgeable and the communication was excellent at all times. The home felt like a home for the residents and the ethos is definitely 'We will fit around what the residents want and like" not the residents have to fit in, with the running of the care home.
My mother has been living at Oak Manor for six weeks and my family could not be happier with the care she is receiving. The staff are extremely compassionate and friendly, and the home is wonderfully busy with fun experiences for the residents. My mother, who has dementia, did not settle at all in two previous homes, and it was very difficult to find a new place for her, but at Oak Manor she has been welcomed with open arms. It has resulted in a real upturn in her levels of happiness and stability, which is a great credit to all of the staff. I highly recommend Oak Manor.
My Father was at Oak Manor for around 6 weeks and the care he received was excellent. All the staff from Management through to the cleaners, were kind, happy and very friendly. We were always made to feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door. My Father had dementia and the care provided was full of kindness, dignified, caring and with patience. As a family, we couldn't have asked for anything more. The meals provided always looked very appetising, snacks and drinks were also provided in-between meal times. As a family we were extremely happy that we picked this home for our loved one to be cared for.
The care and compassion shown to my relative in the short time he was at Oak Manor was exemplary. The first things I noticed was the calm and relaxed atmosphere, the friendliness of staff, and the way staff treated people with empathy, respect and kindness. Staff clearly demonstrated the professional values I would expect. As a registered nurse and a nurse academic, I would hold Oak Manor as an excellent example of how people with dementia should be cared for. I am so grateful to all the staff, especially the manager, who were so lovely to my relative's son and daughter-in-law after his death.
My dad has been living at Oak Manor for just over 2 months. My first impressions were that the staff were all friendly and kind. The home clean and residents settled and well looked after. ALL of the staff have made a genuine effort to get to know my dad and talk to him about things that interest him. I am also extremely grateful for the support they have given me and my family. Overall, I feel very lucky that my dad is living in this lovely home.
I have lived here just under one year. In this time I have been very well looked after. I feel like I am understood and the people here make me laugh and happy. The manager visits me everyday and care so much about us all. The carers and activity people do lots for me. I am glad I am here.
I am very well cared about by everyone here since I arrived. I am looked after very well. The staff are very attentive. I enjoy my life here.
Today I have visited a distant relative in Oak Manor Home today. I was so impressed by the team and the manager who was so caring and thoughtful to care for my relative in the way I observed. Thank you all so much.
After a short residency in another care home, my Dad was moved to Oak Manor. He has some quite tricky care needs and has in the past been difficult to look after, our family were a little nervous about him being moved to another home that potentially couldn't manage him. We needn't have worried. The staff are all amazing, walking angels there is so much love and care given to not just every resident, but their families too. My Dad is a retired priest and we discovered that the staff have been singing hymns to him to calm him when he is anxious for instance. The activities co-ordinator went out of her way to find 'Sing Together' videos that my Dad was in and bought a giant screen into his room so he could watch it. While we visited, every member of staff popped their heads into the room to say hello to Dad and our family and it was clear that they are all passionate about delivering exceptional care. This place is outstanding, amazing people and care. Thank you.
My mum received excellent care at Oak Manor Nursing Home. The staff were all very kind, caring and could not do enough to make her comfortable. Unfortunately my mum passed away earlier this month but could not have been in a better care home.
My Father was welcomed into the home by very friendly and caring managers and staff. His room was made up with his personal belongings all set up for him. Photos of family had been displayed on the walls. The room had been selected for him for space and the specialist bed. Myself, brother and mother feel his every need is met. He settled in well and he likes to wave at all the friendly staff who always have time for him. Thank you so much for being wonderful.
The Oak Manor team have been fantastic when dealing with my father. All the team have been remarkably kind and loving during a difficult time. We wish to thank all of the team for the love and support shown.
In the 8 months my mum has now been a resident at Oak Manor I can't fault the care she gets. It was a slow unsteady start for her getting used to somewhere/something new but all the carers made sure she felt at home and although there have been challenges along the way they have always kept my mum safe and secure and felt part of the family, I've witnessed this first hand. The room she has is beautifully decorated warm and cosy the meals are nutritious and there are always drinks/tea/coffee. All the carers are amazing and I'm so so thankful for each and every one. The manager runs a great ship.
In the three years my father was at Oak Manor up to his passing, I found all the staff to be loving, friendly, compassionate and dedicated to all the residents and could not fault the respect, love and care my father was given. This kindness was extended to me and it became my extended home and family. I could not have wished for better care for my father and cannot extend my gratitude strongly enough.
Outstanding. The team are so loving and kind.
Everyone is always welcoming and they look after the residents with love and kindness.
All the staff are brilliant, attentive and friendly. They clearly care about their charges and this shows in how Mum responds to them. Outstanding!
I visit my friend with my wife every month or so, and each time I see him I am amazed at how well he looks and how well cared for he is. Not only physically cared for but cared for in every way by staff who genuinely want to make a difference. The whole team are welcoming, polite and professional and nothing is too much trouble for them.
